You all are missing my point. Did I ever state in my post that I support the VC? I was only against the some of the reasons he gave to justify his argument. Ofcos I know Africans have a hitherto existing tatoo

After dilapidated buildings, the next sign that you have entered a poverty-ridden neighborhood is that just about everyone has tattoos. Yoruba call them agbero, English call them touts, white folks call them white trash and in African-American lingo, they are called hood rats. Of course, I expect Nigerians to fight to copy the wrongs from other cultures. Will they fight for scientific innovations, education, environment, electricity? No. The fight must be in support of braids, sagging, tattoos and other nonsense that adds no values to anything.

//
I don't have a tattoo and I'm not saying getting a tattoo is right or wrong, but when you analyze this that way, don't forget multimillionaire artists and actors and even politicians have tattoos, they aren't called hood rats, thugs or agbero..what exactly is your point?.... Abeg live and let's live..

What does being a "tattoo expert" mean?

Should we copy all sort of useless things from the United States?

Should all of us tolerate all sorts of irresponsible idiots in this country?

What is the meaning of "tattoo expert?"

The AKSU VC should ignore the fool.

How about he becomes a "technology or science expert" and contribute to the development of Nigeria?
Typical monkey brain

What reasons did he use in justifying that is wrong? That the white are way ahead of us yet they tolerate tattoos? That the Canadian prime minister has tattoos yet their country is better than yours while your leaders who dont have tattoos dont even have a clue how to run this country? That some white lecturers have tattoos, yet their educational system is one of the best in the world? That there is a white woman with tattoo in that same Akwa Ibom rescuing innocent children labelled witches by those who dont have tattoos? The point he is making is, how does having a tattoo lowers the quality and impact of a human being?

Did you hear that Tattoo is an art form and even our forefathers here in Nigeria used to have it? This is the kind of mentality the article is talking abt. The white people gave us their religion, we over practice it. They gave us their education system, we still learn it wrongly. Na wa o

That's why it costs 5x to remove them as it costs to put them on. Ever heard of money miss road? Some people never believed that they would amount to anything until Providence smiled on them. 50 cents tried to clean his own. But then debating with a Nigerian will always end with "how much money someone has". Is that what matters? I am waiting for slut walk in Nigeria because Amber Rose did it in US. We are not more Western than Americans. Yet US law enforcement still profile people using tattoos. The hideous tattoos you see in Nigeria are scorpions, snakes, cross, all connoting some kind of cult affiliation. Nail them to the cross. I will bring the hammer.

You can have your facial marks and call it tattoo, if you like. But, the VC of AKSU does not want tattooed-up students in his school, just like companies have dress codes.

Life has rules. Break "em and you face the consequences of your choices. If you need a job, do you go to the interview with torn jeans, just because "our forefathers use to wear torn cloths?" WE SHOULD STOP COPYING NEGATIVE THINGS FROM THE U.S.

We have more important things to worry about. A tattoo is so irrelevant.

How does it affect power generation in the country.

How does it affect the polithieves we have in the country.

Note: i don't have one.

I repeat, tattoo is an art form. You cant associate it with negativity or torn cloths. As per "life rules", "work place ethics" etc, how come it is underdeveloped countries like Nigeria that seems to base it on irrelevant things rather than stuffs that will advance the country? It is mentality like this that is making SARS brutalise innocent youths who look good, accusing them of being internet fraudsters. Only in under developed countries like Nigeria. It's a big shame.

However, I have come to realise though that no matter what, many Nigerians will never change their mentalities. But no problem, it will continue to lead us where it has been leading us for years, while the rest of the world move ahead.

Actually, it is your kind of mentality that destroy this country the most, not mine. Why can't these tattoos be drawn on hidden/private parts of the body. But those who do it place it on visible areas of their body and then expect society to celebrate it.

SARS brutalize people that look like criminals. I'm not justifying it. There are millions of Nigerians that have never had issues with SARS. My point is if you appear irresponsible, people will judge you negatively. It is a fact of life. It shouldn't be so. But it is.

My challenge is for this "tattoo expert" to become an expert in something that advances the country, not on something they see in western countries. Put your next tattoo on areas that are hidden from public view. Otherwise, society will view that negatively and even SARS may treat you like a criminal. So, why go through that, when you can easily avoid it, by hiding it?

Banning Tattoos will keep a larger proportion of irresponsible students away from the institution. Looking at the Greater good, it is a welcomed idea.

What's next?.. I'm yet to see a Boko Haram or Fulani terrorist with tattoo in the news.... Oh by the way all most all Nigeria musicians have tattoo... So ban their music.

No wonder Nigerians are real zombies.
