SaharaReporters gathered that the gunmen also killed one of the students.

The armed men were said to have invaded the school around 3 am.

“Some staff members, their spouses, children were also abducted by the bandits,”

Suspected bandits have abducted some students of the Government Science School, Kagara in Niger State.

The bandits were dressed in military uniforms when they attacked the boarding school Tuesday night, reported PRNigeria, a news agency with close ties to Nigerian security agencies.

The bandits overpowered the security guard before whisking away the students.

PREMIUM TIMES could not confirm the exact number of students kidnapped, at the time of this report. However, some students are said to have escaped after the raid.

A headcount was being conducted in the school on Wednesday to ascertain the actual number of missing students, PRNigeria reported.

The news agency also reported that security agencies were able to detect the coordinates of the area the students were taken to, and have started tracing the bandits’ movement while security aircraft have been seen hovering in the air to track the location of the students.

A former senator, Shehu Sani, also said the principal of the school confirmed the abduction.

Mr Sani said the bandits abducted some students and staff of the school.

The Niger State police spokesperson, Abiodun Wasiu, did not respond to calls and messages seeking an official position on the kidnap.

The north is becoming something else, the bandits has taking over security.
The life of citizens is on stake, the politicians go around the country with security and careless about the citizens.
What a shame on Mr president, another terrorist in form of banditry. Once North is unbearable for them, those northerners will move to south again.
I think it's high time the south separate from the north.

Lasting solution to this unprecedented mayhem is nothing but total disintegration of this country.
By so doing, the bandits, killer Fulani herdsmen and Boko-harram will have national military of three separate nations to contend with thus making their annexing agenda a difficult one to achieve.

But can it be achieve peacefully, no, because the North won't want it in an easier way.

It is clear dat Bandits and herdsmen are one and the same Boko Haram and Niger state is their new battle ground.. As usual expect the security agencies and the govt to give u contradicting figures and den 1 or 2 escapees to tell a story and in the end dey are released after a couple of governors put a call across to dem and everyone goes back to business as usual.

I definitely know the Northern leaders and FG are collaboratively working to make this shit happens at the expense of innocent folks.

Sorry to say but I think Islam itself is a religion that's entwined in violence, retrogression and oppression! sad
