I need to know a maths txtbook i cab buy for an Ss3 student that one can easily understand and has a lot of examples in it and also covers all ss3 maths topics.
Note: The person isn't really good @ maths so we need a really txtbook that explains well with enough examples.

engineering maths by k.a stroud is very good. its the best. it takes care of the mathematics aspect of furthermaths as well as furthermaths itself. it makes the student love mathematics due to its self explanatory examples.
the aspects of general maths that is not covered in the book like: ratio, inequalities, graphs, arithmetic and geometric progression, longitude and latitude, plane and circle geometry, construction and sundry others can be learned from new general mathematics

but wait a minute, did you say ss3? is it not a little late for this kind of question?

To me, Comprehensive mathematics is the best. I bought it and studied it alone in 2004 after getting E8 in 2003 waec.

I used to have this kinda thought until I stumbled on dis two textbooks recently HIDDEN FACTS IN SSCE AND MAN MATHS textbooks. I will implore u to check them out.
Lemme give u a preview.
Hidden facts has detailed examples that covers all external examinations in Nigeria while MAN maths is embedded with practical examples that u can easily relate to day to day activities.
I will love to hear your view on those textbooks cause I just recommended the texts for next session.

of cause you are right cause i have checked on those ones but i think for foundation level, general maths is better.....

New General Mathematics. It has remained the best mathematics textbook in Nigeria and elsewhere for decades.

Ehen.. Simple. Now you are more specific about the situation. Well as to your question, I do think comprehensive mathematics is more understandable but i still recommend you get him a tutor as maths even with example is hard to understand by oneself especially whn not even half good st the basics
