What a detailed and helpful information. God bless you for that.
I'm just thinking... if not that we don't have an efficient system and/or WES sometimes can do oversabi, I see no reason why the entire process shouldn't be concluded online.

WES got back to me on this, they said, they need the issuing institutions to send the credentials to them in sealed envelopes as part of their (WES) verification requirements. I didn't want to pursue the case further, because deep in my mind, online verification may be better guaranteed against fraud than the manual process.

@Shyee,I really feel your pain. This is complete bias, why single out your application? They should have clearly specified the documents needed from you from the onset. They can't try this in Western world because someone will sue their ass.Just hold on and see what their response would be.
Canada and their annoying bureaucracy, just like this WAEC and NECO verification, why not ask applicants to buy the scratch card themselves and include it in the documents that applicants will send to them. They will verify the details online by themselves.
Anyway,I blame African and Asian leaders.
Thanks. I am considering going to WAEC to complete the process... Already initiated ICES too. Someone said, avoid being Penny wise, pound foolish. Canada is worth the expenses.

my Wifey wrote ielts 5 times why? because she was always getting a 6.5 in writing, so we decided to try Liz the paid version and paid $18.00
and wahhlah...there it was .. the secret to writing revealed, we discovered that in the free versions they wont tell you the whole trick but its there in the paid version , it all boils down to the format and structure please find below LIz paid version. she got 7.5 in writing with Mod
FIFTH ATTEMPT -- LRWS 9,8.5,7.5,8.5

I used her free version only and had 7 in writing.

Hi, it counts as a degree plus a diploma certificate. Two friends of mine used theirs for WES and got additional points from the diploma results.
I think you probably need to be clear about which "diploma results". I know WES has not positively evaluated Unilag's diploma.

It depends on factors like age, work experience, marital status, level of education, having blood relative in Canada, having a job in Canada etc respectively... The CRS calculator is your best bet here.
...but to be safe, having minimum of LRSW of 8777 could be better than 999x, where x is anything less than 7. If you think you deserve better in writing you could opt for remark or EOR it's called. Meanwhile someone shared a tip if remarking with MOD/IDP few pages back, that you should follow up with the Australian office, because 9ja IDP office no dey do any remark, they just upload your original results as is..and they chop your money.

For reference purpose, and for those following up with me. WES sent me the following message in response to the message I sent them [underneath their response]

Thank you for contacting World Education Services (WES).

The requirement you mentioned in your email is with regards to evaluating university credential. Application to evaluate a university degree earned in Nigeria and submitted before August 3, 2018 does not require the WAEC. Be advised that the WAEC is required to evaluate a nursing certificate.

Best Regards,

Christian N.
WES Customer Service

I sent the following mesaage to them:

On Wed, 8 Aug at 3:25 PM ,
Country of Education: Nigeria
Question: I got a mail to the effect that WAEC should send my certificate, am I being prejudiced against or what? It seems to me I am being prejudiced against, because I have been on this evaluation thing for long. You said I should expect my ECA tomorrow, only to change the rule of the game for me. If this is not prejudice, you said the new policy doesn''t affect application prior August 3rd, only for me to be singled out that the policy is not the same for me. If this is not prejudice, how am I to suddenly cough up 130CAD to pay WAEC again to send my credentials. Kindly respond to my enquiry. I need my ECA for immigration, please. Thanks.
Paste this on twitter and give them the option of getting them the scratch card to verify on waec website themselves.

I couldn't agree more. I wrote IELTS in Nigeria in October 2017(Academic) and in February 2018(General) and I got 7.5 in writing both times. I think the problem might be that Nigerian markers may be more rigid about a particular style of writing and look out for some PARTICULAR things. I think we should be trying to figure out these things after all, some people still get no change in marking after EOR.
Oya let's start with you... What style did u use... Or rather which YouTube tutor did u use

Unless you are very young, already have a job offer and have a sibling in Canada, you sadly need to retake or/and remark the test. 6.5 in writing wont get you any tangible CRS

Google CRS tool and use it .

This kinda reminds me of the story of the hungry man who bought a donut to quench his hunger, after eating it, he was still hungry so he buys another ... and another. Finally the 4th time, he decides to buy buns and after eating this, he feels full. He then starts wondering why he didn't just buy buns the first time and save himself the money he wasted on 3 donuts.

I'm not discounting the fact that the paid version must have been a lot more helpful than the free version of Liz's tips. I'm just saying, give your spouse some credit, perhaps she learnt from the experience of the first four exams. It's possible she practiced harder, studied like crazy, stopped taking the writing module for granted, improved her handwriting and writing speed, learnt to meet up with word count, brushed up her spellings and punctuations, etc.

I'm sure the buns helped but don't forget the donuts

I think it is due to the increase in age discrepancy that is the present trend, WES is getting frustrated

Hi everyone, please can both the husband and wife have a profile in the EE pool? To be precise, the wife has been the PA all the while but based on recent developments, the husband as the PA will take their score to 474 from 436. So they intend to create his profile with him as the PA.
Is there any issue with this?

I would advise that you delete the wife's profile and create a new profile with the hubby as PA. It's unlikely to get an invitation any time soon anyway. Meanwhile, CRS of 474 with hubby as PA is guaranteed ITA in next draw. Why keep both?
