Sorry House am just so tensed as I have never seen such case before since almost a year I have been on nairaland.. has anyone seen such case and was approved.. because my mind wan explode even as the passport is on transit. Gurus i have come to notice that paper route that last upto 7 weeks, there is high chances of approval than someone who get response in less than 3 weeks or a month..

Hello Guys,

I will leave the long story for the other day, which I will hopefully share with the house when everything has fallen in place.

I applied online on May 15 and I opted for upfront medical in week 12 (August 03) when no progress was being made so as to avoid delay when I get medical call-up. I sent my upfront medical information sheet to Accra through CSE on August 07 then I got medical request on August 08. I sent emails to Accra, Lagos and London since then but nothing has changed on my profile.

Kindly advise me on what to do next?

Thank you and may God bless you all.
teslims,

Right from onset I don't buy the idea of people undergoing medicals when they aren't called for it. This is a clear example of what I have been preaching against. If you didn't undergo an upfront medicals prior the submission of your application it's better to wait for CIC to request for it. There is no hurry in life. At this juncture, you will have to call the hospital or visit them to resend this medical result of yours to CIC. Some times it may boil down that you have to pay an additional fee for re-documentation before your result will be sent.

Congratulations in advance!

Please can I see the sample of the mail you sent to Cic concerning the medicals you uploaded? Wants to do same as I did medical few days after submitting and I'm yet to upload it.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I received a letter to go for medical examination on August 08, 2018, however I have done an upfront medical on August 03, 2018 in order to avoid delay due to non-availability of appointment at the hospitals and the fact that my school starts on September 5th, 2018.

Kindly find attached my Medical Report form (IMM1017E) and Upfront Medical report for your attention.

Hello kingfintan,

@ the bolded, it doesn't appear that way all the time. I know of 2 applicants who applied through paper route and secured their visa within the space of 4 weeks (a month). From experience, I got to find out that once upfront medicals has been updated as passed for paper route it takes some couple of weeks before approval comes in. All I can say is that you should have a glorious feeling of contentment within you and be optimistic.

All the best!

uyplus,

After the successful completion of a (1) year master's degree in Canada, your PGWP will be issued up to the same length as your study program (for example, if you studied for nine months, a work permit will be issued for nine months). But, If the official length of your program of study is less than eight months, you are not eligible for the PGWP program.

dinho10,

Though I am not a visa officer. But, i'll advise you don't push in such application because you will refused based on your purpose of visit. Your study gaps (4 years while at the University), how do you intend to address it to the visa officer? I beseech you save yourself the stress of paying admission application fees, visa fees etc... and go for a degree that is higher than your already completed degree i.e either by opting for a masters or PGD/C as the case maybe.
Deride not what I say because of its simplicity. Truth is always simple.

dinho10,

First and foremost, what is your CGPA? If you had a 2.1 in your undergraduate studies, you're absolutely eligible for a Master's degree in Canada. Going for a different course in Canada doesn't add a plus to your visa application, because you already have a bachelor's degree in Nigeria. You stand a chance of getting an approval if you go for a Masters degree, PGC/D to show academic progression.

Hello good friends.
I applied to a school for a masters degree in uniRegina and sent the supporting documents by mail. Now they have sent me a mail as below asking to change the formats of the document, please house how do I go about this knowing that some of the documents appear if jpeg form, word, or pdf.

Please scan all documents (transcripts, degree certificates, supplementary items) into a single Black and White PDF file and send as an attachment to an email. Files in other formats (i.e., jpeg, zipped, google docs, etc.) are not acceptable.
Scan the documents in a readable resolution (100dpi and in grey scale).
PDF files should be 3MB or less in size. If you must scan in a lower resolution to ensure all documents are not larger than the limit, please ensure the PDF is still readable.

@mcbex: I didn't intend to draw your attention to this and am not trying to misinform people here. I have done my research and I not not trying to scare anyone. I stand to be correct "it is more difficult to get study permit if the applicant has more 5 yrs study gap" even if your intended course of study over- match the previous one.

Many people can not tell why they have been refuse even after doing all the needful when they applied. In one of my previous post. , I mentioned the VOs are not sentimental but professional, they have templates and guidelines. I am extremely sure that study gap is one of them irrespective of other conditions or factors.

I totally agree with you that SOP is a way out but menh that SOP must be "bulletproof".

mcobex:
I am not suppose to respond to this again but let me just do it so others can learn from it. The 10 years study gap you have isn't a problem cos you have not been idle during that period, you have around 10 years working experience and that's even a plus to you. Go for a course related to your job experience/BSc degree and your visa will be granted.
Cc: @ jolowizzy11 : what have you been doing since graduation from secondary school? NIIT diploma is ok but after acquiring that what have you been doing(working or what)? if you have been busy working(paid or volunteering) then state it. @Frankrobbn1,

I study Accounting(HND) and I work as an Accountant before venture into Agribusiness.

Now I want to go for Businesses Administration and Management in order to equip my self with needed skill and expertise to run a successful business.

I was given admission at University of Regina for 4 years Bachelor Degree in Bus Admin.

My application was refused in July, I have apply for GCMS note to know why my application was refused and see if i can reapply.

Hello muizzzz,

It may interest you to know that you were denied because of academic progression. You are currently holding an HND certification with relevant working experience in the same discipline (Accounting) and now going for a 4 Years Bachelors degree program in another discipline (Agric business). If I may ask, the Agric business you are presently running, is it legally registered here in Nigeria?, did you include registration documents/certificates to show proof that this business is rightfully yours?. Why going for a bachelor's degree in Business and administration instead of BSc in Agric business that's if truly you wanted to equip yourself with the required skills and expertise needed to run an Agric business in Nigeria as you have claimed?.

My advice is that you should forget about anything relating to BSc at this point in time and acquire a PGC/D admission before reapplying for your visa application.

Frankrobbn1:

jolowizzy11,

No one on this window can predict when a Visa will be approved! The normal processing times for Nigerian applicants is 10weeks, but sometimes an application may fall outside this stipulated time because of the number of applications received by the Visa Office.

As said earlier your SOP should reflect the following and should be addressed in each paragraphs to avoid repetition.
1-) Describe your academic background briefly.
2-) The program of choice
3-) The school.
4-) Why Canada choose not Nigeria.
5-) How you intend to finance your studies in Canada without working.
6-) Your home ties
7-) Your future goals/plans and what you intend to achieve at the end of the program and how it might benefit you in the future and your nation as whole.

You can simply web search on the internet, there are many SOP's out there that can give you a clear insight on what you seek. Avoid plagiarism because it's a crime!

You are funny sometimes Legend!! Plagiarism is a crime? What prison are you locked for committing such a crime? Perhaps KiriKiri? Plagiarism is not a crime, it’s a case of academic dishonesty not to give credit to whom credit is due.

Hello dinho10,

Check MUN (Memorial University of Newfoundland) you can be lucky to get a Master's degree with your CGPA. I know of few applicants who got theirs with such grade(2.2). No program can guarantee you visa approval. It's very important to apply to programs that are relevant to your current employment/previous studies.

Nobody can tell you your result, those that told you it’s an approval are only guessing. You have to wait and receive the result and update the house on your status. It’s possible it could be an approval. It’s possible it could be a rejection. It fits both prototype from cases I have seen in the past. There is no easy way of knowing until after you get your passport. A paper application can stay with CIC for over 7 weeks and get very possibly denied or approved. It can stay for less 3 weeks and get denied or approved too. You cannot stereotype any application into a particular mold, each case is different.

Attorney! I protest to the contrary that Plagiarism is a crime. Most cases of plagiarism are considered misdemeanors, punishable by fines of anywhere and up to one year in jail. Plagiarism can also be considered a felony under certain state and federal laws. It can also cause a student to be suspended or expelled. it is a serious ethical offense which can possibly cause a student to barred from entering the University or college.

What state law are you quoting? Perhaps in Nigeria? Even in Nigeria I am not aware of such a state that sends people to jail over plagiarism. It’s is not even a misdemeanor under the law. A student can be suspended and if he repeats the office can be expelled. It’s is a serious case in preserving academic honesty, but not a crime.

I am aroused by your reverie concerning the subject matter. It might not be a law in Nigeria, but certainly in other countries like Poland they don't joke with infringement, no matter how minor. So, I advise applicants to desist from such Act.

Please quote the law from Poland. It’s a different thing to say people should desist from plagiarism (which I agree) and another thing to assert fallaciously that it is a crime when it is not.
