Go and read Psalm 23.

"......though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff comfort me..."

Do you know what that means?

It means bad things may happen, but God assures of His presence and comfort when such happens.

Our God doesn't say we won't die, that will be a lie, because He told Adam and Eve that they would "surely die" if they disobeyed, which they did. Evil, sickness and death is the order of this world because of sin.

However, God promises His people that He will be with them in this life no matter the circumstances. Even better, He promises them of eternity in Heaven.

To a Christian, what happens in this life is so little as to be of no consequence, as long as one makes it to Heaven.

No man can protect you at all times. God can, but, like a wise parent who doesn't wish to spoil a child, He allows things to happen to test and strengthen.

Look at those people in a burnt church building and tell me it means nothing.

We study and live by the whole Word. In fact, that is the basis of our faith. Jesus Christ was prophesied in the old testament and manifested in the new. In fact, in the new testament, the old is quoted!
