My idea: six weeks to expiration of license, apply online for renewal. Select the option of no capturing. Also pick 5 years for good measure. Pau online and go complete the process at FRSC.

Since you're not capturing, they'll neither take away your old licence nor issue you a temporary licence. Instead they'll sign your application paper with which you're expected to drive until your new license Is ready.

Go with your old licence to Canada and use it to get your Canadian license.

In three months, get someone to help pick up your five year Nigerian license so you're still able to drive in Nigeria whenever you vis it.
@bolded, it is illegal to hold an Alberta license and any other drivers license. Just saying.

Hello, I just arrived Calgary Sw. Im looking for an affordable 2 bedroom apartment. Any assistance will be appreciated
have you checked rentfaster.ca and kijiji.ca? Those are the go to sites for accomodation in Calgary. Contact landlords and schedule viewings. There aren't a lotta places available this time of year as most leases expire in spring but if you keep searching you'll find. Also consider being willing to offer paying a couple of months' rent in advance for landlords who may be skeptical about taking on new immigrants as tenants.

Quite easy, firstly get your SIN then open an account with a bank cause you need it as proof of address to get your health insurance card. Delivery is totally free as long as you remain in Alberta for the next 6months or so. Then I got my family doctor who recommended a gynecologist for me and who ever you get as your doctor will determine which hospital you actually be having your baby.
You be asked to go for ultrascans and other blood test and results sent to your doctor. From then your doctor will arrange visits it all depends on your due date.

Thank you so much ma'am

I am dreading the freeze too. If I had my way, this will be a naija baby but I don't get the process of getting PR for a baby. Not looking straightforward.

Abeg seniors @blackbuddy @vcole can you provide guidance on PR for a new born/child if born outside CA to PR parents?

Thank you. I need to start getting used to the fact that laws and rules are things which actually exist.

Hi Maternal, how easy is it to get the bolded, apart from being bilingual, what are other things that could easily stand out a candidate
maternal:

4. Here's the catch. Ottawa is a government town so most people are employed by the government. At times it can be hard to get a government, especially if you can't speak English and french. There are some private companies as well, but not as much as government jobs. If you can secure a good paying government job you'll love Ottawa and you won't be going anywhere. That's the key, like in most cities. A decent paying government job, mixed with the low cost of living and you're laughing.

my 2 cents.

Many many thanks for your reply. The criminal check has now been completed and sent...We didn't need to do anything, thankfully. Apparently the wait time is 3 weeks...but the public holidays in Nig. stretched it by a few days.

Many thanks again!

Additional point to note is that when you get your license in Alberta, you sign a document that says you do not have any other licenses, or essentially any way to get another license. So, getting a second license means you've made a false declaration on a legal document.
