Are there no other way to correct a child than to beat and dehumanize them in this manner.. You niece?, your own relation... Most Nigerian are frustrated. They just always find an outlet to let it out, and for this woman,that child is her own outlet.
A word of advice,no matter how poor you are, never let your child go out to stay with anyone else, better they remain in hunger than to be broken up in this way

I had a serious fight with my wife this morning over a related matter even before stumbling on this thread. Men really need to do more in curtailing the excesses of their wives when it comes to how they threat relatives or house helps staying with them.

It always start gradually under the disguise of training and eventually graduates to this kind of brutality. Husbands, friends, neighbours etc need to speak up and do something before it gets to this stage.

Just checked her out on facebook. That evil woman said she beat her because she isn't a virgin at such age. Is beating now the solution. Who knows if the little girl was raped by heartless person like her that she stayed with in the time past. I wonder why some women are heartless

But there are better corrective measures to be taken to make the maid desist from wrong conducts rather than inflicting body injuries on the young girl ( maid )

I have read countless news in the Nigeria media about parents and step parents abusing the child under their custody. Some using boiling hot water, hot pressing iron, pepper in private part, blows and hot slaps on the face, heavy physical labour, starving the child of meals for hours.These are all wrongs and not in line with the teachings in the holy bible or the holy Koran.

Parents in Nigeria and around the world that are maltreating children under their stewardship should change for the better by showing love while correcting the child in a mild way.

They do. I remember an aunt told my parents to come allow me stay with her, she was pregnant and lonely due to her husband's job. Since we stay in the same town, my dad approved against my mum's wish. This woman and her husband beat me ehn
