Apparently you missed the part where one of the Guru's advised me to write the school (Fanshawe) and plead for more time, which i did and they gave me till the 29th of August. Anything else!!

hotcakept2:

I thought you said before that they gave you till today after that you will have to defer! How come you are saying August 29th now?

Good day all, i really need help on how to go abt applyin for admission with centennial college Ontario. I tried applying through their website but found it difficult filling the form. I wrote to them but i was told that centennial college do not require international applicants apply to them directly and not via Ontariocolleges.ca. I also wrote to another email but was told that at centennial college, u hv a designated international admission assistance for your country that will be happy to assist with your admission process every step. A link was given to connect with the international admission assistance e-mail & phone nuber. I did sent a mail & a reply was given on the steps and procedure on how to apply.

1. That I shuld send all the documents in one pdf file alongside with the proof of payment of the non-refundable administrative fee of $200cad.

2. After the application is assess and if the student is eligible to study with us, we request a deposit payment of $2,100 cad ( refundable in case of visa denial ) to guarantee the spot of the student into the program as well as to issues and send the letter of Acceptance (LOA) by mail.

After the application is processed, the student will have $2,300 cad in his/her account with us, and this amount will be used towards the payment of the first semester tuition fee.

NOTE: All this payment were requested to be made even before offer of admission letter given.

Once u receives d offer letter, u are expected to complete the first semester tuition fee in full on or before the first semester tuition fee du date which will stated on the offer letter.

I want to know if any one in the huz has apply with centennial college Ontario as an international applicants and if this are produre take even before offer of admission letter. I am applying for an advanced diploma program in Biomedical engineering technology with HND in Electrical electronic engineering in which with the admission requirement, i am qualify to apply.

Thanks,

Please why don't you take Lethbridge college instead, the application fee is $80cad and deposit before LOA is issued is $1000. Again its located in one of the best province and cities with lots of job opportunities

What was the processing time when you applied?. Technically, your app would be 8 weeks by the 28th of August, if my calculation is correct?

28th June
Biometrics 3rd July
Nothing has changed since then

Sorry, I should have posted the response from Lagos visa office. See response below:

We write in reply to your email.

As indicated on our website, the processing times provided are based on how long it took to process 80 percent of all applications during that time period and are subject to change. As these processing times refer to 80 percent of applications, some applications will fall outside of these timeframes. In addition, as they are an average, there will be some fluctuations in processing times at peak periods during the course of the year.

That being said, please be assured that the application has been received and is in process. As soon as processing is completed you will be notified.

Kind regards,

Congrats bro...could redact your revised LOE and post here for the benefits of people in similar situation?. The LOE is a very powerful tool to address refusal or even head-on in an initial application. You will be doing this group a great service if you are able to redact your copy and post people to take cue and develop theirs. Congrats once more....

Seeing this for the first time. Thanks for the info.

I did as you suggested with my medicals and it has just been updated as "Passed".

I also emailed my School like you suggested and got a rather harsh response, stating they won't be able to give me more time to hear from CIC regarding my application.

So i might have to defer the second time.. sadly

If you're re-applying, use this tool to confirm if your biometric is still valid https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/extapp/bioStatusQuery

Seems Canada really wanna reduce the pressure and stress we go through, they are storing biometrics for 10yrs

A significant number of applicants last fall did make resumption because CIC was slow in processing their applications. They were later rejected and where approved, where asked to provide new admission letter for the winter or next available fall.

I simply meant those whose application were backlogged ( missed fall resumption) were later either approved or rejected.

To my understanding if your acceptance letter is still valid till January.....they will issue you based on that...

But if your acceptance letter is or has expire after September intake....and if cic want to approval your visa they will send you a message requesting for another new acceptance letter from the school of which they will give you time for it......

A fall application is never valid till January. Usually give or take two weeks after resumption it expires.

I was pushing to resume in September, but they declined. I am to send a copy of my visa to the international office as of yesterday 20th of August, and since I do not have a visa yet, and I sent them an email pleading for more time till September, they only extended it till 29th of August.

They sent me an initial email stating they wont push the 20th of August deadline for me, but someone later sent another email, giving me till 29th of August to send a copy of my student Visa. Are you a June online applicant?

Hello knowledgeable seniors.

Will the officers at the POE be satisfied if carry around 1,000CAD as physical cash, considering that I'm being fully funded by the University?

I have additional funds in bank account here in Ghana which I intend to accesa via atm once I reach Canada. I have already contacted the bank and confirmed that I can use the atm in Canada.

You are not correct. Everyone should be encouraged to try their luck as such information may discourage some applicants from asking the school what may be possible.

This is not a fall exclusive application. It is a fall/winter acceptance. Why would you think anyone here is discouraging anyone?

Been offered a scholarship doesn’t mean you have no money of your own. Canada offers scholarship not based on need, but merits. Yes you can be in possession of $1k and maintain however money you have in your bank account anywhere.
