I'm not the one you should quote for this. Did you read in my post where I stated that I did not even know about that until I read it here. I don't know anything about illegal immigrants in regards to the issuing of drivers' license. However, if out of 50 states, only about 12 states issue driver's license, then, that is still a big issue of concern for any one intending to travel and turn illegal.

So I looked it up myself , California issues it but it’s not the standard license and it may not be accepted at all places as a form of identification. Link below explains it better and it comes directly from the dmv website for California.

For the people in Naija.....the problem with sooo many of you is you have set in your mind how life is abroad....and how you can manage to make a better life for yourself....life cannot be worse. Most of the people that paint a rosy picture...and encourage you to migrate (US in particular) ...will tell you how they made it so why can't you? What they never say...is they came legally...and people here to support them until they find their own way. That is HUGE ..a must...or you see hell. Don't equate life...how things operate in Naija with how things operate in developed countries period. I talk US. So many say...be prepared to do even dish washing job....forget about papers....ask them who ever hires people to wash dishes in the 21st century?...when there is commercial dishwashing machines? I dare any of you that thinks it is not bad....lay out a two week plan on how you think you will survive in NYC...from the time you clear immigration...how much money you arrived with...and how you will be spending in two weeks. I'll play devil's advocate. All people here are saying......plan well before you come...not don't come...plan well before you do. How is that discouragement?
