A staunch Muslim inaugurating a brewery?! I doubt if he will show up

A staunch Muslim you say? Have you noticed that our staunch Moslems never reject allocation from the proceeds tax of these breweries. They have been receiving salaries to maintain the harem of women in their compound, used to go to mecca and used to buy rams to sacrifice to their god!
In fact if that happens, Sharia riots will burst out from the North.

Hypocrites everywhere

Provide evidence that it's the biggest.
It is the biggest no need arguing with you. This plant is currently producing over 6 million Hectolitres of Alcohol and Non- Alcoholic drinks. Do you know what it means for ABInBev the Biggest Beer Producing company in the world to acquire the second biggest in the world SabMiller and then another big one in Nigeria, International Breweries. Nigerian Breweries is no match for us on the Global stage and we are here to give them a run for their Money.

Do you pdp supporters ever listen to yourselves talk? cheesy

PDP was there over SIXTEEN YEARS, not a single step towards restructuring was taken, but they want APC to do same in FOUR YEARS! Lemme guess, they weren't afraid of it, they just didn't like talking about it, right? Or they were about to restructure the country just before Nigerians kicked their lazy bum to the gutter ? grin

I don't think one with such twisted opinion is worth engaging. cheesy

How can you say am a PDP supporter? So anyone opposing the terrorist organization called APC is automatically a PDP member? Illogical.

On the point, the useless party called APC campaigned vigorously on restructuring. What has changed? Power too sweet right?

Ambode is really working oooo.

Look at correct investment that due to the ridiculous tax regime of the Lagos government has been set up in the more investor friendly Ogun state.

Unfortunately, this is one example of many businesses relocating to Ogun state to set up shop.

Then people like my brother deomelo will come to shout that Ambode is working when they commission bus stop. Just negodu what your neighbouring state is commissioning.

What kind of thinking is this? Leave deomelo out of this and think for a minute. Southwest doesn't play the kind of politics you are promoting, that says that only Lagos must get investments at the expense of others, and that if others get investments therefore it means Lagos must be doing something wrong. That sort of thinking is wrong. FYI, Lagos actually got more investments than Ogun this year unlike in the recent past so the premise of your post is dead wrong.

https://www.businessdayonline.com/exclusives/article/lagos-overtakes-ogun-new-manufacturing-investments/amp/

I still can't put my head around the way you Igbos reason. You will still be the same ones to complain that Lagos is the only one 'developing' at the expense of other SW states when it suits you. Why are you people like this for goodness sakes?

Too many factories in Ogun, they should consider some states in the Delta, we need it..

Nice one.. very soon Ogun will overtake Lagos , if not for bad leadership the state should be raking in billions as revenue.

You need to do some research work before arguing here. I don't like people who argue blindly without facts. Who knows you might have family members in NBL that's why you are so fixated on them but all I have said is fact, no point arguing with you. Why must you bring religion to industrialization and reduction of unemployment.

If you want to be holier than Saudi Arabia King then don't offer yourself for election.

Hypocrisy at play. Have all the northern states that talk about Sharia not been sharing from the VAT from the breweries in the southern states?

The lagos state govt is already working in the areas of security, urban renewal, road infrastructure, development of Industrial Parks and other economic zones. all these are geared towards creating an economy that will strengthen the real sector to continually respond to consumers needs. Ogun state attracting more businesses is a plus, and not a detriment. Its like a buffet, you can only take what you can. Lagos will continue to attract the kind of investment that befit its status as an economic hub. The Lekki free trade zone has companies opening up almost every month. Lots of activity there. I am impressed with Ogun been able to attract these businesses... it needs to upscale itself by making the investors spend the monies in Ogun for a merry go round.

obi58:

You need to ask yourself why they are relocating if all is well? This is no fluke. Ogun state has for time now been putting in place business friendly policies and incentives to woo investors to their state at the detriment of Lagos denying Lagosians of jobs. Because of the harsh tax regime of Lagos, businesses now prefer to operate outside Lagos and then sell their products in the Lagos market.

This is a negative economic trend that must be checked before it is too late. Much of the well publicised Lagos IGR comes from businesses and thus responsibility behoves on the government to put in place an investor friendly business environment to stimulate productivity within the state and it's attendant multiplier effect on the economy.

I like the conversation between both of you. But everything will be sorted out if you or him could post a verifiable source authenticating your claims. NG Breweries being the biggest in Nigeria doesn't mean she will have the largest facility in WA. Then again, AB INBEV being the biggest globally does not connote she having the largest facility in WA. Two different things.

@Topic: Congratulations to Ogun for the investment. If only Akwa Ibom and Rivers state could grab similar FDI.

It's no wonder the government of the day is attempting to kill the local distillers by slamming them with over 500% increase in tariffs. I wonder how this government thinks In their view, it is better to support the growth of foreign industries in nigeria at the detriment on the local ones, causing hard working Nigerians to loose their jobs.
