P60 must die.... ;Dif sd710 no kill am, sd 670 go kill, then if not, 636 go come kill finally, else na 625 must kill am... So u see, no escape for the p60... E must die...

I have always wondered why we call the Chinese version of redmi note 5 Global Rom when 'rom' isn't a hardware but the software OS that has been flashed into the phone; same software that global version runs on. Should we then begin to call the global version global rom?

I believe the Global version doesn't need any other nomenclature since its known to already have both globally acceptable hardware & software.

Meanwhile calling the Chinese version (a phone that has been flashed with global software) its true name "Chinese Version", would not reflect the fact that that it runs global rom/software thus the name "Global Rom".

People are complaining about the downgrade from P60 to SD450 and you want to kill MTK.

As long as it's cheaper and better, it would remain valid. Even the P23 sef still dey cause war for my last youtube comparison with SD430.

People just assume the worst of MTK.

Obob... Den u are in for a long thing. , well miui 10 is coming soon. Just try another sim or figure a way out of this. For me, I'd sit back and wait. Some one has suggested a reset to settle it... U may want to try it out.

I really don't think mtk will die the way u are thinking, it may not appeal to big fish OEMS, their are plenty fishes inside the ocean to eat the small crab too. Many smaller Chinese OEM will continue to use it to cut price for great device to gain small percentage of the market. A quick look at the sale of cubot p20 on aliexpress will show you their is still market for it.

I noticed most of US here due face issue not able to use Ntel 4g sim on Ur xiaomi phone, if u have any issues not able to allow the network to stay , U can quote me

Have you done a restart after the update? Give the update a few full charge cycles to gel before you conclude its having battery issues.

On your second picture the colour of your "Mobile network signal" appears you have been having an unstable network.

I will try n kip ma reply short yet elaborate... Qualcomm took an early lead ova oda chipmakers due to cdma and 4g patents, this allow most top tier oems n odms to b in qualcomm portfolio, hence good business partnership... Expensive n expansive r & d come allow QC to b in line for better maufacturing processing n giving out ground breaking technology in dia flagship socs...
Top tier oems use business advantage n bulk pricing strategy to get dia cpu cheaper compared to what oems like doogee, cubot, infinix etc will get it, hence, d likes of tecno, cubot, doogee will turn to mediatek as most of dia products re kuku lowrangers n midrangers..

Short story... Business relationship btw similar tier companies is profitable for both parties, na Win-Win situation

Your comment quite deviates from my main point which is despite how excellent the Helio p60 is on paper & benchmarks, why is it taking so long for Mediatek to have them ready for mass entry into the market? Aside the Nokia 5.1 & X5 which is the only release by a mainstream OEM the rest are China based phone makers that hardly excel outside China & India. I really would like to see Qualcomm given a run for its money.

Saying Mediatek is patronised more by niche players is true but not an excuse. For competition sake they have to ante up their game or risk going out of business.
