This is amazingly unbelievable! Nigerian cities with lowest cost of living, yet Jos can't make that list? It is now I know that the recurrent crisis in Plateau state has dealt a deadly blow on us.

i tell you. hes talking about cheap states and there is hardly any northern state in his list.
i have lived in ibadan, and i have visited 80% of the states he put there. non compares with jigawa where i live presently in terms of cost. not even kano. bauchi is very cheap too.
I absolutely agree with you. The cheapest cities r in d north. You can still get a very good 2 bedroom flat in MOST northern capitals in very cool areas for around 150k. And we all know that's where most of d grains we eat come from.

Thank you. I served in Batsari, a small town close to the state capital and things were freaking cheap there. Cities around like Dutse-Ma was also on the low cost side.

I have lived in Abeokuta, Ibadan, and Makurdi.

I will pick Ibadan for having the best best value quality of life and education to raise a family as the best city. Abeokuta has it even cheaper but no social life like in Ibadan. Makurdi has food the most loving people in the world but the education and social life is not as good as other 2 cities.

The best time I ever had in my life was the NYSC year on Makurdi thanks to the people of Gungul and Mrs Ikpeaghar a principal she had this amazing 10 year old daughter Nancyost helpful kid ever
Ibadan and Ilorin true that .... Abeokuta is cheap too but Social life is Zero ..... Infact , Abeokuta social life no be here ...

Always Love Ilorin .... Home, Ilorin is Home ............ But Ibadan has it all with affordable live ....

I have never lived in Oshogbo but I love the town/City when I toured the inner inner .... Oshogbo is also very cheap ......
Ilorin or Ibadan is the "truest cheapest" in Nigeria, in my own view !

Ibadan and Makurdi, Yes! You could still get 20 naira taxi in Ibadan as I speak. How I wish our government were not corrupt since independence. There would have been functional rail system across Nigeria by now. Living in those cities would have been fun. Ibadan is as quiet as Banana Island. I would have just been working in Lagos but living in Ibadan. Once it's 5:30, I'd just get to the train station, awaiting the fast speed train that would take me to Ibadan in less than one hour. How I wish we gained independence only around year 2000, Nigeria would have far been better than south africa by now because those oyinbos would have used our resources to provide basic amenities for our people. They are not as greedy as we are. Those who rushed to gain independence had an ulterior motive....selfishness!

The same thing KANU wanted to repeat for Igbo's again but his people are now wiser.

I agree with you totally about Benue where I also served. The generality of the common people are unrivalled in love, accommodation and hospitality. BUT THE ELITE ARE A DIFFERENT KETTLE OF FISH.
An igbo medical doctor who served with us but stayed back after service managed to start a business after years of labour and savings.
He bought a land, built a house after securing all relevant documents including C of O, approved building plan, etc he built his house in Makurdi.
After a few years, a Tivi judge (now late) who later became AGF used his cousin and spurious court actions to deprive the Igbo boy of his house and blocked Appeal by his lawyers Ndefo.
The poor boy thereafter left for his home state when he learnt that his case was not the first. He is doing very very well in IMO State and regrets every staying back in Benue after NYSC.
At village levels the hospitality of the people is unmatched and unbeatable.

The Op should hv elaborate further for detail assimilation.
1.Cost of housing
2. Cost of Transportation
3.Feeding
This will gv a better view of the cities cost of living.

Which food is cheap in Makurdi?!

Food is annoyingly expensive in Makurdi oooo. Forget its slogan. Houses too are expensive.

Minna is way less expensive to stay than Makurdi.

I agree with you bro...Cost of accommodation in Makurdi is too high. For food, one can say its relatively cheap, depending on the part of Makurdi you reside.

lol. You're right but the kind of slavery we've suffered in this country in the hands of our selfish leaders since independence is second to none. You graduated, served but remained indoors afterwards without a job. Your parents, because they needed something to rely or depend on at their old age, sent you and your siblings to school with their hard-earned money yet, instead of them enjoying the proceed of their labour, they're still the ones feeding you and siblings after graduation, with no hope of settling down. Many of our parents settled down in their early 20s. Whereas you're entitled to stipends until you're able to secure a job but the govt is doing nothing.
