Morning @all. Please, let me just drop this for those of us going the paper route. The era of "just get there early and walk in" seems to be over. I did the same and discovered it's no longer working. Here is the latest.

Go online and book an appointment. Again, here is the link https://www.vfsglobal.ca/IRCC-Appointment/

Print your appointment page and that with your passport will grant you entrance. In fact, let's say you managed to enter by whatever means, the first thing our friends on the counter would ask for is your appointment slip.

I'm sending in this so we can learn from each other's experience and get things done easier and quickly.

Shalom.

In all sincerity, I think it's not all of us that can get things done by ourselves. Some would, definitely, need agents no matter the amount of info shared here.

I won't subscribe to an agent myself but I have come to realise that everyone is not me. For that, I'll say if you have enough money to pay, just do your diligence by reading reviews of available agents online.

And trust me, not all agents are careless. Some of them are actually professionals at what they claim to do.

Thank God I voiced out oo.. If not Sisikemo would still be busy not sharing her Testimony.. cheesy grin Congrast Sis. Its always a thing of Joy and motivation to see people get approved here, So i was a little worried I havnt seen any Approval in a while. Thanks for sharing your Testimony with us, it shows God is still at work for many of Us still expecting approvals. Urs is the beginning of many approvals to come before the end of this month. And for those of you that have testimony and dont wanna share it, dnt lemme come for you oo.. grin cheesy It shall end in Praise, Positive vibes only.
sisikemo:
APPROVAL ALERT

Sorry this is coming late. I've also been an observer on this thread as well. i was supposed to share with the house but i've been very busy lately plus i wanted to hold the visa in my hand first to see for myself..lool (because CIC people are always surprising us) but after i saw what @mackano wrote i decided to just sharing pending the arrival of my passport.

Program- MBA
School- University of New Brunswick

Timeline.
i applied on June 9th
Biometric letter came in June 13th
Biometric done June 14th at VFS Lagos
Medical request August 14th
medicals done August 17th at IOM ikeja
medicals updated to pass August 19th
Passport request August 23rd
Submitted my Passport August 24th at vfs and i was told to cexpect it in 5-10 working days of which im currently waiting for at the moment

Documents submitted:
My Dad's SOA because he is my sponsor (sufficient one)
1.My transcript,
2. BSC certificate,
3. letter of sponsorship signed by my dad,
4.WAEC result,
5 Call to Bar Certificate and CV,
6. SOP (the SOP i used was the one i wrote for my school in other to get admission there, i did not know i was supposed to write a different SOP for Visa,
7. Admission letter,
8.Acceptance deposit of 1k (i did not pay tuition before applying)and passport bio data page.

i finished uni in 2015, then i went to law school, finished in 2016, finished NYSC in December last year (2017) and as that time i submitted my application i was not working then (unlike now). All in all i forgot to submit a lot of things like police certificate and all, i did not even put home ties or submit any information on my siblings or any other thing. when i joined this thread i discovered i did not submit a whole LOT of things and my application looked watery to me and i was scared cause a friend who is an agent did my application for me for free so i was getting jittery.

But regardless i believe that it was just God that helped me out because i was already losing hope. To all the TRV hopefuls it will definitely end in praise. this last week of august will not pass anyone by. there shall be no denials or deferrals just positive vibes only. Thanks to everyone that contributed in this group, i've really learnt a lot.

@jibola, Ralph Daniels, Onyi, Dami, Ruth and Florence, kingfintan it will definitely end in praise

Awesome!
Please, I am applying for a certain program in Mcgill and a part of the application asked me; "Are you eligible to claim Quebec residency?" I just want to be sure the right answer I should select is "No" given that i am not a PR in Canada.

....even if you must use an agent make sure you participate in the entire process, ask questions and know why he/she is taking a particular step. The main problems applicants have is not just using an agent but using an agent and leaving everything to him(with the feeling that you have paid for the service).
Whoever have money to spend(and too busy to apply himself) he should use a registered agent and make sure he tries to be involve in the process as well.

The agent LIED! There's no age barrier, so at 29 or even 30 your brother can successfully apply and get his TRV. Let him package his app very well and pray.
Tell him applying for TRV is so so simple that he can do it himself(in the comfort of his room) and get approval. With information here and CIC website he can

True talk! 1 did my biometric today and because i had an appointment it was very smooth and quick for me. I mean for the fact we are all striving to leave a country that does not follow the rules for one that is organised should make us to be law/rule abiding, i dont see what it takes to simply book an appointment.

If it is for visa photocopy is okay. It's not a requirement for visa but it is discrete. Just like PCC is not a requirement but some people submit it.

The answer is a NO. You are not eligible to claim Quebec Residency.

Its mostly a day interval. For instance if you want to do biometric on Wednesday you will have to book appointment today or tomorrow.

I remember when filling form i saw "Expiration of acceptance" 18th of September. I don't know why fanshawe college is now saying after August 29th one has to defer. Meanwhile, what would happen if one defers. Will the VO still go ahead with approving the TRV?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 4:54pm On Aug 28, 2018
Tbh!!! I don't know what to do if the TRV comes out after you defer. I think you will have to contact CIC to inform them, or maybe you when you get to Canny land, you will sort that out. Maybe we can ask the Guru's in the house.

shocked It takes 2 to tango. If it happens, na both of una work. Perhaps hubby is also reporting similar fear about you elsewhere! Anyway, let the blessings come. If you are not planning to travel together, perhaps he's just trying to get enough soul food upfront to take him through your long period away. grin
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Asapant: 5:06pm On Aug 28, 2018
Good day everyone.. I want to ask question. After completion of my student industrial training i was given a letter of completion (letter head) that I've successfully finished my 3 months student I.T that was 2016.

I graduated March 2017. And started NYSC April 2018 this year. Currently on NYSC.

That's almost a year betw my UG and Nysc. During this year i retured back to where i did my I.T to work voluntary with them for about 6 months and during this time i was also taking some online courses with is related to my UG. In my SOP should i make i known to the VO that i've been working voluntarily without proof of voluntary work

Could the period betw my UG and start of NYSC be considered as study gap ?

However, i asked the institution to provide me a letter that i worked voluntarily with them. I was told they don't give letter of voluntary work. Kindly advice me

NB : UG Mass communication. I.T and voluntary work at a broadcast station.

I'm being posted to Teaching Service commission which is not related to my UG nor work experience.

Abeg me'na advice me.
