I want to think you were playing shaa, people should not get to that level of desperation...we are responsible for our own happiness, spouses are outside of us, and have to face their own happiness after all
But this is a recurring Nigerian thing, the narrative that we would kill or maim the cheaters...it is less hassle and more dignifying to leave. If we love truly, and our partners want out, we do not try to kill them, we let them go. That is love...and dignity. Everybody deserves the right to be with who their heart wants. Even though the husband in the post already betrayed this unspoken agreement. If he wanted to cheat, he should have told the wife up front that he found a new love and was moving on. Then she decides to wish him well and go find her own love (there are many doors in the corridor of love, and each door opens up new opportunities and corridors), or suck it up and stay married. At least there is truth here.

I am not one to get physical, so he should be rest assured the pains I will inflict on him---wouldn't be physical.
