Which University did you get accepted into?
Is the "advice" school specific?
Re: Polish Student Visa by chuman33: 8:43pm On Aug 28, 2018
For those who got admitted to study in Poland. If you haven't gotten a Study Visa, l don't see the possibility of getting it anymore to commence studies by 1st October. The unfortunate thing is that lots of Polish Universities don't differ admission till the next intake. They mostly will require you to reapply again. Those who got their Visas should let the prospective students know how they did it.

Sorry that I've not really been active here for comments.

Unfortunately it's almost the same situation as of last year. The platform for making a visa appointment has been shutdown for who knows reason. (Their usual thing)

What this mean specifically to those of you who have gotten a scholarship to come over here..is that:
You stand a high chance of being denied a visa If you should apply for a visa after 1st of October. Appealing won't help either... Dont bother

The advice that I've given to those of you who have reach out to me is that..

You should get in contact with your University, explaining the ridiculous situation to them. At the same time, requesting a letter in addition with your acceptance letter to the Polish Ambassador to Nigeria.
This letter should be written in Polish. Stating that the University is aware of the current situation in Nigeria and would be Waiting for the students from Nigeria to come not later then 1st of November 2018

So the key emphasis here is that you need the University to say that they will be waiting for you until a specific time frame. That being the 1st of November. This should be in writing to the Ambassador

Once you have this letter, ensure to submit it alongside your complete documents and cross your fingers. Pray if you're religious.

Other option that exists is that you can apply for a Schenghen visa. With this you can visit and start your studies here. Then return home during the Christmas. (It's also possible to apply for residence permit with a tourist visa in Poland)

You can make a visa appointment while still in Poland, but return home for submitting your application for National visa from Nigeria. Once successful, then come and resume your study in January.

Aiesec is a great platform that you can link up for the Tourist/Schenghen visa

I wish you all the best.

Hello people, please I need help, my sister’s polish visa just got denied. Backstory: she did her pre med there (medical university of gdansk) 2017/2018 session, in fact she was the best student in her set and she even got awarded for it. Shes currently in Naija for her summer holiday (she’s meant to resume 1st year medicine in September) and her current visa will expire in September so she applied for another one for one year.
We want to appeal because we can’t start applying to other schools now, time has gone. Does anyone know the appeal process and what we need to provide? (Btw all our documents were complete during the application o!)
Ps. The reason they gave for denial is that she doesn’t have anough info to justify that her application is reliable (whatever that means)
Please guys help us!

If your sister had a year visa and had studied in Poland. It only mean one thing...which is that;
I would believed that she had applied for a residence permit while she was here in Poland. If not, what is she still waiting for in Nigeria? Take the next flight ASAP down here with your valid visa and apply for a residence permit.

There's nothing like best student when it comes to being legal in Europe.
You gotta have your documents valid, if not Nigeria will call for you.

Yes she had started the process, but she’s still a minor and she needed my parents to sign some documents for Her at the immigration office, so the plan was for my dad to follow her back when she resuming in September and sign them. But that one has scattered now, we don’t even know what to do again!

It's quite an unfortunate development. But one of the first thing that every student should do when entering an EU Country on the bases of study visa is to apply for a Resident Permit. If your sister finished Pre med, I don't understand why she didn't put in Papers for extension of her Residence Card since she been a good student, I see no reason why she couldn't have gotten a letter from her faculty or Dean to put in Papers for a Resident Permit extension as the case maybe. My advice will be for her to quickly return to Poland before the expiration of her current Visa, and once she arrives to apply for the Resident Permit. The rule is once you apply for a Resident Permit even if your Visa expires during the process, you are still a Legal resident till a formal decision is given on her application. Regarding been a minor, when she traveled to Poland for her Pre Med, did your dad go with her? Whatever the decision is should be done quickly. Endeavour to get all evidence of past and continuation of studies before embarking on the return to Poland to avoid problems with the immigration upon arrival. Best of luck.

What process Are you referring to here? Sorry if I don't understand you completely.

Did she apply for an admission upon her graduation from the premed? Was she accepted and acceptance letter issued to her?

From your statement, her visa is still valid until September. But when...September 1st? 20?,etc ...
So this means that her 1 year visa is still valid..

She was meant to resume on the 1st of September like you claim..so what is she still waiting for in Nigeria?

Is she not up to 18 years to begin her University program?

Please respond to the abovementioned questions and you'll be guided appropriately.

Visa denied because of.....?

What visa did she got when she applied last year? Was it a Multi entry type D visa or Single entry?

Supposedly that she got a Multi entry type D and it's still valid, why is she waiting for it to expire? Book the next flight ASAP to Poland and apply for a residence permit there.

daks01:

So again, why applying for another visa when her current visa is still valid? Why wasting time for appeal when she can still travel back to Poland..that's assuming that she has a Multi entry type D visa that is still valid

I mean the resident permit process. She already started the application during her premed but they couldn’t continue it till she brought a parent. Her admissioninto first year was automatic because she passed the required exams, they gave her admission letter ( it was part of docs submitted). Her visa expires sept 16, school resumes sept 24. She’ll be 18 in February, the school doesn’t mind her being below 18.

Thanks for the info, we didn’t know that if she started the process and visa expires they would still consider her a legal resident. Our fear was that If her visa expires and her resident permit wasn’t ready they’ll consider her illegal. One of her friends has that issue (but that one applied for Schengen initially). We’ll consider that option ASAP. Thanks

Her residence permit application was stalled because her parents were needed for what reason?

So let her book her flight back to Poland and resume her study. While there, if her parents in needed, an invitation will be sent for her parents to come and clarify any situation whatsoever.

Don't wait for your parents to go with you. Hurry now! Get back here before your visa is expired

This very true. Once her application is confirmed, fingerprints captured. Her passport will be stamped. With a stamped passport, she'll be legal until the decision is out which usually takes months.

Please who's going to to Warsaw in here? My lil bro is on preparations to go to medical University of Warsaw come October though we havnt gone for his visa interview yet. Even though I read through many negative reviews and comments on the visa granting stats, I still keep my hopes high believing that he'll be granted one. I was at the embassy today just to confirm that everything he requires again and again before the set date. It is in line with this that I felt I should connect with prospective students or students already in Warsaw who I can relate wit and get information as regards the processes or Warsaw in general. I'll like him to feel at home when arrives as that is very important. Also MUW aren't offering him an accommodation so we will need someone to guide us with directions as to how to obtain a decent one. Thanks for your help and info so far and I will be waiting for a more directed response and or PMs

Yes that's what you should do. Since she already studied in Poland, it wouldn't affect her if she's arriving Poland before the commencement of her studies coz she's coming as an already student who is applying for a Resident Permit.

All documents from Nigerian institutions should be Authenticated before submitting to the Ambassador.

Offer letter are often not required but if you want to, go for it.

Bank statements, employment letter and sponsorship letter are welcomed but it must be Authenticated.

@chuman33 You're giving great advice, reading through everything I didn't know polish visa was going to be tough like this. I have paid my tuition but I haven't started the visa process and I am very worried & I have a question I'd like you ask you or anyone here that can help.

1. If your documents are legalized by the ministry of education and foreign affairs, do they still need to be legalized by the embassy?
