My driver's license was issued in my married name because my naija license was in my married name. My passport/COPR bear my maiden name.

@peaceful. Strange how the reason the lady gave you is the same reason I was told my license has to be in my married name.
I guess it depends on the drive test center. Please which one did u go to so I can direct my friend there. She just landed and has the same issue. She won't mind having her driver's license in her married name.

Seniors, please I need your response and advice on this

Miemiecious:
Good day.
Pls can one have more than 1 "goods to follow" list.
Our intention is that we move our goods twice.
Ist set of goods will be at first landing when the whole family first lands
2nd set of goods will be when my spouse is coming back to canada. She will be doing a soft landing to go back & come back in less than 1 year.
Please is still possible? As anyone one such before or know anyone that has done so before to advice.
Will we present the two sets of goods to follow list and explain our intention to the custom people? Please clarify, I beg
Also, what's the procedure or process if the goods to follow will arrive after we land (like 2 weeks after landing). We want to settle in our house before we receive the goods so as not to inconvenient the friends that will be accommodating us in the first 2 weeks of arrival.
My people, pls educate me.
hanks for your usual support

Miemiecious:
Please friends,

The form to fill in the plane, that area of declaring items like diary food, meat...., is it applicable to the items on board(hand & checked-in luggages) with or cargoed items?

Also, as per diary stuffs,is it that all kinds of milk aren't allowed? liquid or powdery

Also for meat, what of dried meat(tinko) or ponmo?

Please clarify

There are Nigerian communities in Saskatchewan. Not sure of any on whassap, but there is a group for Nigerians in Saskatoon on facebook. I think you were also asking a question about drivers license in one of your post. Drivers license and insurance is handled by the government in Saskatchewan. You can call SGI on
1-844-855-2744 or email: sgiinquiries @ sgi.sk. ca

Thanks better person.

One list is fine, it can be used multiple times. Just include all the things coming in.

I’m guessing u have someone to send ur load over 2wks after u leave naija abi?

According to wife;

Federal: Evaluating exam - 2days, and Qualifying Exam: Part I: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Part II: Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).max 3 attempts at each.

Provincial: Ielts academic, Internship (applicant would need to apply for job posting for interns), and Jurispundence. Length/requirements of internship and level of difficulty of jurispundence exam vary across provinces.

I believe it took her between 2 to 3 years. She attended a bridging program too. The bridging program helped in connecting her with other IPGs, and they were able to form study groups. Some bridging programs are not free (10k to 15k) while some are also free. She attended the bow valley free bridging program in Calgary. You have to research bridging programs available in your province of choice. Some bridging programs are mandatory depending on province.

Textbooks includes Compendium of Pharmaceuticals and Specialties, Compendium of Therapeutic Choices, Compendium of Therapeutics for Minor Ailments, and Comprehensive Pharmacy review. She also used past questions from an author called Dr. Misbah. She attended another program (pharm achieve) for the OSCE. It's a 2 or 3 day tutorial program (cost around $5k).

She mentioned that over the years, review guides has changed since she got her license. So you might want to double check with someone presently taking the exams. This is where the study groups and bridging classes come in to lead you in the right direction.

All in all. One needs to be dedicated to clear the exams and all other requirements.
Thank you so much for this reply. The requirements and the textbooks still remains same. Dedication and hard work is key! The exam is energy and mentally draining .

Yes it is. Especially if one has other commitments. She spent countless hours in the library.
It is also financially draining.
IAF also helped her in achieving her goals.
Immigrant Access Fund: A low interest loan for new immigrants seeking funds to enable them cover the expenses of getting certified in their profession.

Seems they have rebranded but still offer same services.

House, pls help. What course can a computer science student do here in Nigeria, that can aid quick Canada job?
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by ottawasenators: 5:21pm On Sep 07, 2018
Well, u know that there are several branches/specialization in information technology and to boost chances of landing a good job in Canada, its best to pursue certifications in your area of specialization. For example if you are into Networking, CCNA,Comptia will do fine, as a software engineer you will be getting certifications around the technologies you are conversant with like Java, .net, oracle , etc. Note, this are just to boost chances and not any form of guarantee, since certifications are just proof of knowledge. Again experience too can be a game changer.

Best of luck!
