Ulcer is most powerful at nights. It eats u up more at night than day. I had it for 5yrs and it was horrible. What was my remedy u ask? Bro, go and buy garlic and honey. Every night, and i repeat, every night before u go to bed, shred 1 small bulb of it and flush it down with small amount of water like when u're taking orthodox medicine. Then take 2 tablespoon of honey. That'll sooth ur bowels for d night. Then always take Omeprazole in d morning before going out. Secondly, learn to eat like a BIRD. That is, dont eat to fill ur stomach, eat to have something in ur stomach. Bit by bit.

U're far off in Ekiti. I would have directed u to someone in Anambra for Chlorofyl and filtered water. But if u can do this steady, as in everyday routine, u should be fine before u know it.

Sir, No one is completely disregarding the possible benefits of herbal medicine,but in the advent of Orthodox medicine which has proven time and time again through standardised trials; why then attempt to use what you cannot reference? We are living in an age of advancements and progression. I guarantee you if, God forbid, you had a sick child herbal medication would not be your first choice,safe except i have misunderstood your level of exposure. If we have found better ways of treating people with results, why do we need to go back to the starting point?

If you believe so much in a brand of herbal medicine, Please do feel free to conduct a standardised trial. Maybe you could discover something useful. but till then let's put away things which are not proven aside.

I understand the issues surrounding clinical test. Be sincere here, would any Health minister who is certainly a medical doctor/prof approve any herbal medicine for clinical studies, no matter how promising?
I also understand that there are spurious claims in the field of herbal medicine. But this is because it is an unregulated field. If the people at the top of the health ministry can show a little interest the area, people will sit up. Assuming I have a herbal recipe, I know that of I do thorough research, it would be accepted even and sold in pharmacies, then I will invest more. Or even medical doctors/pharmacist taking a lead to research into the claims of each herbs. Why do we always want ready made or easy way?

In 2009 or thereabout, there was a publication on the medical potential of bitterleaf in healing type 2 diabetes. Guess where that report was publish? USA! At the moment, hectares of the plant are cultivated in Texas and other warm states for research. But Nigerians will quickly dismiss such ideas. Or too busy to carry out research.

Another reason Nigerian Dr's should be interested in herbal medicine is compatibility. Some western medicines are not made or say less effective for the black race. A Dr who worked for many years in SA told me that a HBP medication that is very effective for a white man is not very helpful for a black guy.

On the issue of side effects, tell me any western medicine that doesn't have side effects? My brother, they all do. The question is what research should be done to understand the pharmokinetics of some of our herbal medicines with good potentials?

Good evening
I suffered from serious ulcer pain after which I bought drugs for the ulcer but the drugs were worse as it made me more terrible than I was,I could not belch, had severe stomach pain in the night, nausea and couldn't eat or drink water because I felt like throwing up

Buy plenty garlic, a bottle of honey.

Every night before bed, slice 1 clove of garlic and wash down ur throat with small water, then take a spoonful of honey. Don’t eat later than 8pm, stay away from alcohol and smoking. Also avoid coke, sprite any liquid with carbonated water. Don’t get yourself filled when u eat. Do it in bits, basically like a bird.
