Thanks for your contributions

As a partner who don't currently drive on the platform, you can start the business if you get someone with good driving and car maintenance culture to drive your car.

You also need a good and trustworthy mechanic for preventive maintenance and repairs.

I am based in Lagos, so I really can't give you an accurate advice on how to manage your car and driver remotely but I can suggest the following:

1. Get a good fleet manager. I don't use any so I can't currently recommend any at the moment.

2. Get a car tracker to remotely monitor your car movement.

3. If possible, recruit your driver directly. Have a one-on-one relationship with the person. Don't make him a third person in the transaction. Let him know you're available and ready to listen when he has something to say. He his the probably the most valuable piece in your value-chain if you want to do this business remotely. He use the car daily, so should get his feedback.

4. Take your car repairs and preventive maintenance very seriously.

5. There would be downtime, so please don't calculate your Return On Investment (ROI) on a 52 weeks a year.

6. Do pay unannounced visit to Lagos, for surprise check and balance on your investment.

So should you invest in this business, my answer is capital YES, if you can get driver and mechanic recruitment right.

I do wish you the very best of luck.

It seems there are no more drivers for e-taxi who are ready to do the do. You’d post available car here and requirements, then some drivers will chat you up and be begging, what the heck. There’s no need for such, if you are a serious driver and ready for the terms below for a solid Camry 2004, drop your WhatsApp contact:

Experienced driver
Upfront deposit
Weekly rental of 30k

Cheers

Lol.

They don’t want to pay upfront, some want 20k weekly and I laugh. For common sense sake, you pay rent upfront and not in arrears.

I don’t know why drivers still worry themselves coming here to look for cars with assurance deposit when pple get cars easily elsewhere. I’m in about 10 different ehailing groups and d drivers there connect themselves to cars everyday without any deposit.
And besides........make I no talk again

And the story is still the same with partners complaining about drivers with terrible attitudes, isn’t it.

i think its because majority of car owners here are always emphasizing on 'experienced drivers'... why not give new drivers the chance to proof their worth, dont forget that those experienced ones were once jjc, like me i havent seen any driver partner because i am new on the platform but i am ready to hustle....give me a trial pls, 07060509656

You are right though, the issue is the business terrain is tough and driving in Lagos is not for the faint hearted and if you have not been exploited by LASTMA or Police before you won’t understand how to deal with them, coupled with how to position yourself tactically and all that.
Where do you reside anyway and do you have 30k upfront rent?
