Nigeria seems to be in a state of war with the SE. Every action of government points to this direction. The huge presence of military personnel. The excessive use of force on IPOB youths over the years also lends credence to this perspective. IPOB youths were treated as if they were an armed group. I recall a couple of months back, there was a protest in Abuja to press for the release of El Zakzaky and his wife. Despite the violent mode of this protest not a single shot was fired by the law enforcement and no incidents of fatality was reported.
