Hello everyone, I had my interview and was denied, I didn’t believe it because I overprepared. I was always on this thread and read almost every visa interview. The guy that interviewed me didn’t even check a single document. Here is my transcript, please what went wrong.
VO: good morning, how are u today
Me: good morning, I’m fine (with a smile)
VO: where are you going to in the US
Me: Houston, Texas
VO: what are you going to do in the US?
Me: I’m currently pregnant and wish to go and give birth to my baby.
VO: what do u do?
Me: told him I own a fashion house even told him how many staff that are working under me and how long I have been running the business... also chipped in that my husband is sponsoring the trip.
VO: what does your husband do?
Me: told him and even mentioned that I have his company documents.
VO: how did you find out about the hospital?
Me: A friend used them and recommended them to me, then I read online reviews too. Asked if he would like to see my correspondence and appointment letter, he said he’s not interested.
VO: which country have you been to?
Me: told him Dubai and Tanzania for vacation
VO: do you have any relative you will stay with in the US?
Me: No, I made a booking and asked if he wants to see my booking reservation.
He repeated that he’s not interested in seeing any documents and brought the blue paper.

Please where did I go wrong, the interview didn’t even last more than 3mins, he was just rushing the whole thing and cutting me off like he already made up his mind that he was going to deny me. I’m so devastated and my due date is in November, do I reapply and how do I even go about getting a closer date? Is there anything wrong with my interview so I can know what to do differently?

sorry about your refusal. if I may ask, which hospital/doctor is that? cos it seems they may have blacklisted some hospitals especially if its cheap. And these days it seems travelling alone without spouse or relatives to stay with may be a problem being that its your first time in U.S

Houston northwest... Dr Xydas. I applied alone so my husband can serve as my tie back home but was denied still. I don’t even understand again... I’m thinking of applying for expedited interview since my due date is close.

I was denied based on ties and the VO also asked if I have any other child, said no that this is my first. Don’t you think applying with hubby would raise a red flag since he’s serving as my tie back home, also what reason do I give for changing hospital.

My dear, You did nothing wrong. They are just erratic and I have seen them give visa to a lot of persons that I know are not planning to come back.
I was there with DW and my 2 yr old toddler in August and we were denied. I even made it inside with them (i have my visa already) so I can explain things better since I am the sponsor but the interview did not even get there.
The transcript was the same as your except in our own case, she was asked how she hopes to manage with our toddler. She then responded she was staying with family and that was it...the guy kept on typing until the pink paper showed up.
One more thing, this particular guy interviewed up to 7 persons (refused all of them) while the other windows were still occupied.

If you feel up to it, just reapply and pray.

Before reapplying or applying, may I suggest you get first get a UK Visa, perhaps. My mom-in-law who got her visa to the US in August said the VO actually made up his mind after he looked through her passport and saw her visa to the UK which she got about 2 weeks before she attended the interview for the US Visa.

Most importantly, please for God's grace and favor cos she mentioned that were a lot of blue paper given out that day but she continued to pray . even during the interview which lasted for about 5 mins.

Mere speculations. It's not stated anywhere that a UK visa is a prerequisite to getting an American visa. I got my US visa on a new passport with not a single travel experience.

A UK Visa is not a tie and does not guarantee a US Visa. People with UK Visa have been refused US Visa.

In fact the VO could ask you why you don't want to go to the UK give birth since you just got the visa. That will now be an excuse to deny you.

Please you pipo should not throw money away anyhow. There is God ooo.
