PHOTO CRITIQUE

Saw this on Facebook, thought I should share it. Seeing the photo, so many things come to mind:

Is this Nigeria?

Was approval given and by who?

Is the built land so scarce that absolutely no accommodation can be sort for the transformer?

How's the home owner coping with rain water penetration and damp walls?

Is this the best solution?

What would warrant such desperate and potentially dangerous measure?

The questions are unending.

Hahaha, few years ago I shipped in cars to Nigeria when the business was still lucrative, the car dealer that sells cars for me has a spot along Mile 2 / Badagry / Seme express way and his warehouse is directly under 33kva where all my vehicles were packed shocked, on arrival to Nigeria, l saw it and was not comfortable with the dangers inherent in the location both to him and all the vehicles given to him by different people in the diaspora, he told me, Oga you too dey fear, nothing dey happen, huh shocked, under a high tension, immediately he sold all my vehicles, I stopped giving him cars,

Infact, lagos state government later pulled down the entire warehouse, it is along Agboju / Alakija axis, he even has approval of the structure by the same lagos state government, but the question is why will lagos state government approve a building under high tension, it beats my imagination, nawao, it seems anything goes in Nigeria until a serious disaster happens and we start blaming the Devil shocked

Good day house. This forum has been an enlightenment to me and I'm sure others who happenend to stumble on it as I did.
Kudos to the key contributors for not giving up on project Nigeria. smiley

Please I have a question - has anyone on here had any luck with the Lagos State Task Force on land grabbers recently? The omo-oniles around my site area (isheri idimu) don't seem to have got the memo that their activities has been banned by the lagos state government.
They came to disturb during the foundation stage(jan this year) requesting for "foundation money" and I reluctantly had to part with thousands of my hard earned money after persuasions by the site engineers just for peace to reign.
They have now formed the habit of coming at every stage and opportunity. For example at the decking stage i had to deploy military personnels which seemed to deter them .
we are just at the roofing stage now , lo and behold they were throwing stones/sticks from outside the building inside at the carpenters working.
I don't want to be deploying military folks every time if i can help it (cause of the cost implications obviously), and the police aren't of much use cos they work together anyway with omo-onile so i am thinking of going the Lagos task force route?

Any particular "working" numbers or way I can get them on will be appreciated. I said "working" as all those phone nos advertised on the Lagos state official site aren't going through.

Thanks

A better option is to negotiate with them and pay. Why?

The rascals are your immediate and future neighbours. It's not good advice to fight and imprison them. You can't live in peace in that community after the completion of your project even if it's a rental investment.

Area boys can be useful if you know how to harness all the negative energy and turn it into positive force for the good of your project and personal well being.

Negotiate a cut-off and pay. It's cheaper and speedier.

Words from a wise man, that’s the best way to go,also paid for each stages too In ajah, from foundation to decking to roofing and even paid for road too,now the project is past roofing nowthey can’t ask for more money,so It’s best you negotiate and pay to avoid trouble with them

Key one of them and use him to manipulate the other.

Yea I agree with you he should try and negotiate with them because of peace. Because those boys can became terrorists to the project going on there and even after the project he will not still live in peace in there because he has made them enemy by going against their demands. So just try and make peace with them please
