pilot and xterra are SUV while the CRV is a CUV.

all vehicles are reliable, the CRV wins in fuel economy and low cost of maintenance as it shares engine and parts with a few offerings from Honda and acura.

I would pick the CRV for its practicality and mpg rating also drives like a car with good ground clearance.

the pilot comes in next with its 3.5L V6 for power and 3rd row seat foe additional seating room.

next is the xterra the best among the contenders in off road capability. has a 4 cylinder, V6 and V6turbo. reliable too but only wins in the off road capability.

the winner here is the CRV with its practicality combined with good fuel economy it would get the job done

Thank you op. Your analysis is quite helpful but Honda's K-leg issue is what is scaring me. I know the car would give you signs before breaking down but i have no knowledge about cars and i fear i won't be able to detect if a problem is developing. Also i am based in ijebu ode which has terrible roads and i fear may cause the leg to "tear" more often.

there are tons of people driving Crv in ijebu ode have you seen them with pulled shafts? if you buy OEM replacement parts you won't have issues

yes the Nav and JBL are a combo installation with 14-speaker at least counting speakers too can help you identify your target

Sorry bro the only difference is that Mark Levinson shows DVD, I don't think JBL comes with that DVD package. I can put aftermarket DVD at the rear seats. Just wanna confirm if that audio sound is fitted with woofers. But I don't get it, are u saying the one that is not Mark Levinson is JBL?

07 to 09 Nav has a DVD for the Nav

10 to 12 has HDD rather than DVD

I am guessing so cause base Lexus are fitted with JBL Audio which is not bad too and has its own woofer and 6 CD changer

but the high grade trim is ML audio and comes standard with Nav also.

Wow JBL for base models? Come on that's the sweetest thing I've heard this year. I know the ML Audio shows DVD when u March on this emergency break pedals, I'm only confused if JBL will show DVD if the break pedals are active. I love JBL, Toyota highest trims come with JBL as premium package. I love it! I'm so grateful bro, I love the way u answer the questions intelligently

this is the real info on the entertainment package of the ES

base has an ordinary radio with 6CD changer and 8 premium speakers without woofer

the premium pack has a satellite prep radio system with 6CD changer or with Nav DVD without the ML

there is also a premium package with ML and Nav and 14-speaker against 8 speakers with 300W woofer

the ultraluxury is a premium upscale with all the optionals but addition of moon roof.

now if you want to buy the ML what you will watch out for is the 14-speaker ML variant, the moon roof will just make it easier remember their is a premium with the optionals but no moon roof

Wow if our car no get woofers wetin we gain ? I'll insist then on the ML equipped Es. Thanks bro!

But why do cars choose which trim to equip with premium packages? Nissan don't do like that! It's unfair. Like my Toyota Avalon XL doesn't have that full package and I regret it everyday!

On the other hand we will see you regularly. Okay, buy the fusion if you will use us as your maintenance shop grin

Lol. Seriously though. While the fusion is arguably one of Ford's better cars, I wouldn't do it.

Hello, I’m considering buying an Acura TL 2011. What other cars will be a better deal for the price range? Can’t really name cars for comparison.

both vehicles are ok the only major difference to determine his choice

i4 for fuel economy
V6 for power.

this should determine his choice is he a fuel conservation individual or likes his cars fast

there is no need for comparism because you already know what you like and what you want as you don't even know any car to compare it with.

the acura TL is a good buy

Great car, highly recommended. Probably better than every other car in that class. Other cars in that class including the Lexus GS350, Infiniti G37 and Mercedes C350. All four have similar power, though the other three handle slightly better than the TL (the non SH-AWD model, at least), but the TL's design is so brilliant, and it has a really nice interior.

Nurey is the compare guy. If you want a Ford, get one of their SUVs or even better a truck. If not I recommend looking at another brand. Ford has now discontinued making cars in the USA. That should tell you something. They are only making trucks and the mustang now.

Alright.
Thanks for the info update.
Very helpful indeed.

I appreciate.

I am in between two very clean 9ja used cars: 2007 Lexus ES 350 and 2013 Ford Explorer.

What are the things I should bear in mind, most especially the Ford?

Hello guys, great work in here. I'm looking at 2005 Acura TL or 2006/2007 MB c230.
I'm considering maintenance, balance, durability and least is resale value since I'm looking at toms.
Budget for both is between 2m-2.3m.
To be used as an everyday car. And I'm a single man (at least for now).

Pls Gazzuzz mentioned sometime ago on his thread about a VCM engine problem on Honda Pilot 2006-2007 series when someone asked about the vehicle type. I asked Gazzuzz to expansiate more on this issue but didn't get a response on the thread.

Please for people like me who wants to know more, could the OP or someone enlighten us about this issue? And is it limited to just the 06/07 models or the 08 & above models.

The ES350 is a reliable car as long as you don't buy a lemon or a poorly maintained one.

the explorer is a good car too, not as reliable as the lexus, parts of ford are cut throat, interior wise not as luxurious especially the XLT but has some basic things like nav, rear view camera.

dead spots on the explorer due to its exterior design but not as pronounced as the 1st generation infiniti fx series.

The year difference considered has advantage of part failure on the Ford, in the luxury and tech section not so much as the ES350 is a luxurious vehicle out of the box.

pick the Ford for ground clearance, build stance and solid parts known about ford.

pick the lexus if the specimen is ok, better fuel economy and luxurious feel.

3.2 L J32A3 (270 hp) V6 04-05 then (258hp) 06-08
3.5 L J35A8 (286hp) V6 type S

c230 2.5L V6 201hp

maintenance Acura TL just an upscale/luxurious accord DC

balance c230 the type S only comes close

durability acura

resale value both are poor but the benz has an edge here.

the acura is faster, has a good mpg and has a solid luxurious build.

the c230 isn't bad, not good for a family guy due to its small interior space solid sports sedan but not the fastest of the lot.

Honda had vcm issues in majority of their 3.5L V6 line up with vcm from accord to odyssey to pilot. most individuals could manage theirs while others had jerks lasting 45secs.

it wasn't only Honda gmc also designed an engine like that but they disable the vcm when it was giving issues.

Honda never did a recall though due to number of cars with such engine but did draw up a bulletin for software update etc. The known solution most people tow is to disable the VCM some said changing engine mounts helps too
