The bigger picture is to avoid the default of weekly rental. If the driver makes over 10k on a norms he still pays 35k per week, which equals 5k × 7days
I don't get you.
He gets to pay more weekly with this plan.
5k X 7 days - 35k weekly
7k X 7dats - 49k weekly
The reason I said it's a winning plan for the driver is that making 10k is enough to earn him a salary then anything more than that is extra plus the salary. Which means the driver will mostly likely to earn 130k monthly if he clocks 12k daily (highly likely).
And I also believe that downtime is not meant to affect salary

At the bolded, out of which drivers gets a 19k per week salary, invariably driver has remitted 30k per week. Except unless there is a clause in their agreement that restricts the car usage and hours of running.but I want to doubt it.

Drivers can make 12-15k daily true, but Wat of his daily expenses : fuel ,data, calls, tolls. All this small small things ehn.

Let's do I quick run. I for example this week. Let's say I have been lucky with taxify (and I know it). Have hit 50k in 3 days (Monday-wednesday), but after commission it comes to 42500, I did a quick check on my expenses and I have spent 17k roughly(fuel, toll, data, etc.). Left with 25,500. Remove 15k for 3 days remittance left with 10500. But my body know how e deh do am, that I cannot keep up.

The 7k per day remittance will help drivers to inevitably have saved up sum in form of salary by months end. That's the only plus I see. The possibility of driver being at advantage is if requests flow and he make a constant 15k+ daily week in week out.
this is the blind spot

Rider: what no are you
Me: I am at no. Xx
Rider: ok I am coming out.
I quickly decided to make a u turn so that the car will face the exit road leading outside the estate.
Rider: but you told me you where outside.
Me: when I picked ur call I was right in front of ur house.
Rider kept on in a visibly angry tone.
Me: I said the winning words ok I am sorry madam.
This cooled her down & she told me to drop her at the clinic.
On getting to the clinic.
Me: ma, is this a drop off or do you want me to wait.
Rider: I would please like you to wait.
Moral of story: we should recognise that the customer is king and never find it too difficult to say the soothing words "I am sorry"

grin week days only ? (35k a week)
Or weekends inclusive (49kk a week)

70k means 17k5 wage to the driver

Therefore the owner is left with either

Week days only (35k - 17.5k = 17.5k weekly)
Or
Weekends inclusive ( 49k - 17.5k = 31.5k weekly)

Drivers will prefer the weekdays only to a have days to rest.

Owners will prefer all days to earn more and no rest for d driver.

My opinion, stick to the weekly remittance of your 30k / 35k. And keep doing ur car maintainance yourself

Given that its possible to make 20k+ on some days too, remember?? There are bright days and there are dull days............ Even if on normal rental, doesnt mean a driver will meet daily targets but rental amount must still complete.

I think this is a welcomed plan sha........ Personally, i feel a driver that doesn't default in rentals can do this............. Has to be a driver with hardworking attitude and a driver that knows how to prepare for rainy days.

some questions to be asked, do drivers get paid when there is a downtime exceeding a particular period ?

For a sudden pull out by vehicle owner, does driver get his full month pay?

From personal experience... if he switch he should be fine ...before I switch to Mobil 1 ,my car was definitely using the worse of the worse oil ...I had the dumbest and greediest manager ever... so am sure poverty stricken Stealing, no good son of bit*ch ex manager was using worse or no oil like your friend was using... so when I switch using proper oil for the car ,the car was OK but it was shorten oil ...but after a few thousand miles the car stopped shorten.. The car is fine now ..this is from my own experience o ....he can try to switch and hopefully the damage has not been done due to bad oil from the beginning... when I tell uber partners to use proper oil from the start..they won't believe me .they say I just want sell oil for them or they say this is Nigeria we go manage am like that... I just hope for your friend sake that this is not medicine after death ....that is my take ... he can also drain the old oil ,just to be safe and corolla engines are pretty strong to take abuse ...he should be OK once he switch... I mean my elantra survive the abuse ,so corolla should do better... that is my opinion again ,

Drove to the island yesterday. Spent over 3hours in traffic and the rider refused to pay the full charge. Was too tired to start dragging with him. Waited on the island till 9 to a set destination trip. Uber didn't allow me, taxify riders were going the other way. After 30 mins, drove to Obalende picked some people and dropped them at Oworo. At Oworo picked some other people and dropped them at Berger. The joy on their faces when I refused to collect money from them made me sleep well. Money is not everything.

Calculations will apply .

Calculations will apply .

applying calculations then nullifies MONTHLY pay to the driver. Lets look it at this way, model is putting the driver on a salary based structure using the vehicle to deliver his month pay. So instead of paying driver the norm personal driver salary of 40-50k, you create an avenue where by he earn more and you also earn but now the twist his mind is ON THE MONTH SALARY OF 76k so he planning says he gets 76k at the end of month.. so even with a down time(not a fault of his) exceeding a particular period he will be of the opinion he should earn his 76k per month cuz he is on a contract agreement for a month @ 7k a week to owner and 76k month to him.

This area needs to be discussed indepth to avoid long talks

what if he creates the down time?

That has to verified before considered as a down time. Putting out such contract, ones needs to explain what is a downtime and duration to be considered before its called a downtime. We have seen drivers say stopping over for an oil change is a downtime, or checks on vehicle efficiency lasting 2hours is a downtime -- you know the stories cheesy grin
