The problem these women face is called "The Pocohantas Problem". It's a condition where a woman who has stopped producing ovaries (menopause) keeps fantasizing about what she will do in marriage without any probability whatsoever of getting married.

I dunno why everyone on this thread is arguing and debating on an abstract thing.

These women, just like pocohantas don't even have a husband yet. They keep using "If", "will" etc.

Let's allow them get one first before we argue the name-change blah blah, blah blah blah.

To solve this gender problem once and for all, we scientists are going to find a means to create a generation of hermaphrodites where everybody would bear both the male and female reproductive organs, such that lovers would sit down and plan who should carry pregnancy and who should impregnate who. At the end, the partner who is better suited to carry pregnancy at a particular time would be impregnated by the other. For example, if one partner is busy with work or is the bread winner, he/she can impregnate the other who would stay at home and take care of the home front.

I want to believe these feminist know that they will give birth to a male child one day, i pray their daughter-in-law should have same mentality and let see how it goes....You see why divorce will not end in this country, one foolish woman now will now follow suit, dey follow dem shout say na true.
God go punish feminism, fine i can't stand women been cheated buh fighting for equal rights, i wonder when your brains will open to understand it not possible..buh when you get belle, u hubby nor get belle, when u dey labor pain, your hubby nor even get small stomach pain, some of them sef na beer palor dem go tell am say wife don born....
Wait, so you believe all women are interested in frustrating the life of their daughters-in-law over a non-issue?
Some have better things to do than meddle in the private life of a married adult man.

On the issue of divorce, no civilized man will seek divorce because his wife refuses to change her maiden name.
In fact, most divorces are instigated by women, not men.

Yes, we all know that only women get pregnant but how should that stop a woman changing her name?
Re: Feminists Agree They Won’t Change Their Surname To Their Husband's Name by LuciferKristi: 2:21pm On Sep 13, 2018
First off, pocohantas has to get a man first.
Without this, all other things are invalid.

But come to think of it... Why are feminists even planning on what names they want to bear?
I thought they don't need men? huh

Why are they even planning to do stuff with a man?

Does this mean they know the reality deep down that they must end up with a man? grin grin

If yes, why are they still feminists today?

These creatures are confused.

If you were exposed enough you'd have known that in Islam it is permitted for a woman to retain her surname after marriage if she wishes. Even at that a lot of them still take up Hubby name. It has nothing to do with class or wealth!

Meanwhile, Zahra still added "Indimi" to hers.

I can vouch that you are a broke girl that is the only explanation for this.

Only poor people mock people on account of wealth that they wish to have.
Kkkk grin

As for the topic, I hate it when people leave important things to argue or banter over irrelevant things..... Gender discrimination is everywhere...In some societies, girls are still treated like slaves and what some aunties care about is changing of surname, prostrating before a man, bla bla. ..All these makes me sick...
For goodness sake, be more concerned about important stuffs and forget about useless things.....

Sorry are you the lady I quoted?
Or are you her lawyer?
Please mind your business if it doesn't concern you!
Thank You!

So what about the wealthy guy who married the daughter of the former governor of rivers state?
Don't just single out zahra as a reference for not adopting her Hubby's name!
Why didn't zahra choose to adopt her mummy's name instead of her dad's name?

Please use your head for once, you are more intellectual than this!

You don't know the reasons behind not changing her name after marriage!
So don't come on nairaland and make assumptions without any substantial evidence!

Its obvious your likes have reading or comprehension issues!
Can't you see where the lady you are blindly defending said she won't adopt her Hubby's name?

its a choice and a discussion between two adults....
So what about okonjo iweala?
or Hilary Clinton?
Were they fools to have adopted their Hubby's names?

So let's say Trump married a billionaire's daughter, would she want to be addressed in her father's name or Hubby's name who happens to be the president?

pocohantas....i may not know you personally but your posts previously implies that you are more intelligent than this!

Like i told the lady,if you dont want to adopt your future hubby's name, the sensible thing to do is discus such with him!

If he agrees, everyone is good....if he disagrees, then let him move on to someone who sees nothing wrong with such!

grin
I laugh in Latin...
I wish you knew the one you addressed as a poor man....
So much for hidding under a nickname in a faceless forum!
look

those names you mentioned mostly got married in the 20th century
Changing name was the in thing then

I personally don't see anything with keeping papa name (it's their identity and name they bore throughout their lives, I get that)

what is stupid is trying to impose your maiden name on your kids
that's not smart

All this epistle. Triggered much?

Anyway, my point is simple. It works both ways. There are men who wouldn't want their wives to drop an influential name, same way some women be quick to adopt an influential name. You dig?

I didn't call you a poor man o, I said poor man issue dey too much. That's general, not about you. Don't have a heart attack grin

Re: Feminists Agree They Won’t Change Their Surname To Their Husband's Name by LuciferKristi: 2:25pm On Sep 13, 2018
Men aren't bothered about names. It's too trivial.
Men do not need women for such decisions.

You either take it or you can remain an Evening newspaper like pocohantas.

Why are feminists worked up about a man's decision in their own lives?

This shows they are scared of what might be. If they were so sure they can choose whatever names they want, they wouldn't be bringing this up.

It is fear that has driven them to this point.

In the end, they must change their names to their husband names or remain a pocohantas. grin grin

All these ones na mouth.

How can someone keep calling this lady a feminist. This lady is clearly not okay.

How can she say her children will bear her husband's name and her father's name [who is in fact another man] put together. And some females are applauding her. My head aches already, trying to understand the rationale behind this.

Are these ones okay? Zicoraads you said it o. Come and see your babe.

She doesn't surprise me one bit. She always comes across as someone who may probably strap herself with a suicide vest and blow herself one day where men are gathered.

Kids of wealthy people and rich people don't tag people poor or broke on social media if you observe, only poor do.

Each time on Nairaland I see some people tag people including those that can change their destiny as "poor". It is embarrassing!

I just don't understand why Nigerians cannot respect people for being human instead of their class or wealth.
pocohantas is a frustrated and jilted being.

Her hatred for men is borne out of years of sexual exploitation which has reduced her self-esteem to zero. She makes up for this by coming online to vent her frustrations on others & by misleading innocent young girls (like her mentor Linda Ikeji who has abandoned her & is living the happiest moment of her life with a man).

Pocohantas tries to make every other woman think miserably because she can't find happiness in herself.

Intelligent women find men & live happy while the dumb ones join her in misery.

I'm happy to let her have the dumb ones. grin

There is nothing like gender discrimination against female in our society, instead, women get some extra privileges but WE ARE NOT COMPLAINING.

If you aren't interested in changing surname that is your choice, hopefully a man that will agree to that comes your way BUT unfortunately, your kids will bear HIS NAME grin

Now if you even agree with him that your kids won't bear only his name but will bear your surname in addition, it's okay as long as both names are names of MEN- your father and husband.

Don't forget that whether you change your name or not, you still bear a MAN'S name grin

You see the foolishness of feminists? You can't upstage men in the social order. You either accept it or you accept it!

Lastly, the HUSBAND is the Boss of the Wife in a home, he calls the shot and there is NOTHING anyone can do about it. Just as your class captain called the shot in your class though all of you were mates, there was nothing you could still do about it.
