Thirdly since ambode has no structure in apc through congress and all LG chairmen are tinubu appointed....how will he win?
Highest is for him to resort to begging......coz he allowed himself not to have at least 30 to 45% input in party structure....

My dear he has to beg coz all odds are against him.....he can't win in direct primary with tinubus stance now unless he tinubu soft pedals....coz ambode has. No structure....his commissioners are just worthless.....they are not grass root.

Final option for him if he loses primary he may decamp and may or may not win Base on the goodwill he enjoys in lagos state....still don't forget federal might against him....if he tries such.

And lastly if fashola is not in good terms with tinubu....it can work to ambodes advantage.
If ambode decamped, na impeachment straight, secondly Fashola can never work with ambode

Okay! It is getting clearer now. So he is going to lose if he stands for the primaries, owing to lack of influence on the party members?
Exactly!he side lines the party members and grass root members...now he can’t get their support.giing by the direct primary he would loose

Re: 2019: Is Ambode Afraid Of Direct Primaries? by SEGAD: 12:03pm On Sep 15, 2018
Throwback:
A direct primary has no preselected delegates.

It is the registered party members that will vote at the ward level all over the state since it is for a statewide position.

So if indeed Ambode losses a direct primary, it is because his own party members rejected him.

That is the best of democracy.

If you still claim it is Tinubu's doing, then it only underscores how powerful and well rooted Tinubu is to the grass.

I however do not subscribe to Ambode selling his soul to have the blessings of Tinubu. He should brace it like a man. If he losses, so be it, the party made a democratic choice.

As for Tinubu, he would be making a fatal gamble if he opts to sideline Ambode because he wants more control over the governance of Lagos state. Ambode may not be popular with the APC party members, but he is popular with the Lagos electorate.

The lesson in all these is that if you are a lackey, you will always stay a lackey. Ambode was a nobody when he was "imposed" by Tinubu, hence his inability to succeed in a test of popularity within the party via direct primary 4yrs later.
Ambode popularity to electorate is negative. He increased land use charge, survey plan etc. Majority of the roads are bad, everywhere is dirty
Re: 2019: Is Ambode Afraid Of Direct Primaries? by opribo(m): 12:08pm On Sep 15, 2018
When Tinubu tried this sh1t with Fashola he met a brick wall instantly because Fashola endeared himself to the people. He had no choice than to back track and make peace or else risk the chance pf losing Lagos.

So it is now, if Ambode had done the bidding of the people regardless of what Tinubu may do he will win. The power lies with the people.
In whatever you do while in office always let it be in favour of majority of the people, listen to their needs and do what they want. They are the reason why you are there. If you dont do their bidding on election day they wont vote for you. Then you will be looking for godfather assistance.
Do your first term like you dont need a second term, let your work speak for to the extent that we the people will beg you to stay on.

This is where he has a problem, he doesn't have a support group, he has alienated them all... Naija politics is one of patronage & it makes sense to never lose grassrooot support...

Babatunde Fashola was vehemently opposed to his emergence but same foot soldiers were the ones that got him into office.

Taking the PSP thing to Visionscape makes zero sense, Lagos is dirty & he lost goodwill, wonder what came over him...

I however believe they will sort themselves out soon...

Ambode is not a politician. He did not carry along his Party members. In fact, he made himself inaccessible, thinking when election time came, members would have no choice. They are trying to teach him a lesson.
Re: 2019: Is Ambode Afraid Of Direct Primaries? by captainxero: 12:11pm On Sep 15, 2018
This is very simple.Tinubu has asked for a direct primary for the election in Lagos state there by giving any body interested in the post of Governor of Lagos state a level playing ground where by all card carrying members would vote .This is not imposition in any form.Where Ambode is having problem now is that the moment he came into power ,he let power intoxicate him and he side lined all party members and elders. He is not accessible and he came in to rubbish and stop the legacies of his predecessors. He cut all the party members off.He sacked so many heads of parastatals and even his commissioners were walking on eggshells. In government you don’t rubbish your predecessors legacies, continuity is key.Now he does not have the support of the grassroots party members because he didn’t take care of them instead he chased them away.they can’t even enter Alausa secretariat.he fought fashola and stopped most of his ongoing projects for example the ilubirin project he stopped it,he cancled lawma and brought in vison scape.lawma was the contact given to stakeholders in the party and other people and they were doing there job very welll at least Lagos was not dirty. The vison scape is the biggest scam of Lagos state and they have performed woefully because Lagos is very dirty and they can’t even handle the tons of dirt.He can’t run to the Abuja faction for support because fashola heads the faction along side Amosu and Fayemi.Ambode is the only person who authorize payments and sign Cheques in the state. His commissioners can’t sign anything above 50k.All the contracts were given to his inner caucus, light up Lagos and the bus stops. The party members are aggrieved and he can’t get there support.so Tinubu has said he is not in position to decide that the members would vote whom they want via direct primary. He has been begging but it has fallen on deaf ears.Ambode forgot four years is a very short time .i hope he learns his lesson

The so called politicians are jealous of his style of leadership, so the direct primary may be compromised, that's fear now, so don't blame him, if for him to be recommended without any rival, he will be voted back to power by lagosians.

Ambode should be happy sef ....let him face the people to judge whether he's fit doe a second term of not ...if they say no ....good. If they say yes ...even better, when Tinubu comes for the usual share of the state wealth, tell hi to also go and meet the people and let them decide if he's entitled to a share tongue

CilicMarin:
I don't understand this issue of everybody begging Tinubu to back Ambode..is Tinubu God? As a sitting governor, I don't expect Ambode to be begging for support, but rather have his own support group who should be able to deliver him in the forthcoming primaries.

We cannot be accusing Tinubu of imposition and at the same time asking him to impose Ambode on others. Moreover the former governor has only 1 Vote.
Re: 2019: Is Ambode Afraid Of Direct Primaries? by Nobody: 1:13pm On Sep 15, 2018
He knows very well how much Yorubas respect elders. He also knows that Tinubu has a very big influence on lagosians. That is why he will pee in his boxers at the mention of direct primaries

POLITICS is all about structures, if you dont have structures, you cant win party primaries. in Lagos MANDATE GROUP and JUSTICE FORUM are major structures in APC. TINUBU is the leader of mandate group which controls the politics in Lagos. Ambode has no control over it even in EPE where he hails from.
Re: 2019: Is Ambode Afraid Of Direct Primaries? by miqos03: 1:34pm On Sep 15, 2018
CilicMarin:
That is mere conjecture. I believe he should try his popularity within the party, after all the sam party members will work for him in the election proper if he emerges at the primaries.
politics is not like that, if he tries it , he wont even win his local government.

very fooolish question.

everybody knows tinubu controls the party

regardless, ambode will win reelection irrespective of the party he belongs
do you know the real voters are not the educated people? the real voters are the okada riders, trades men & artisans, market women, transport operators. All these people will vote according to template set by their leaders who are also APC members loyal to TINIBU.

OmoEpe:
Stop displaying gross ignorance no delegate will vote in direct primaries. All party members will vote, voting by delegates is indirect primaries which APC has rejected.
Summary of this is that Ambode will face hundreds of thousands card carrying members of the party across the states.
UNDERSTAND?
you forget even party members can be denied membership card when its time to vote?

more like it for him to have his way, or rather let him decamp to another party to seek for their ticket before it is too late.
But they are threatening him with impeachment should he do that.
If only the FG can back him up or he must at least two thirds support of the house.

Direct primary is less likely to be compromised than the use of delegates. Delegates will vote for the highest bidder. In direct primary, you can't buy people. Even if you wish, you can't just have enough money to do it.

Maybe not on this thread but on other threads, you have and it exposes a whole new level of hypocrisy for you to be supporting someone and acclaiming him just few months back only for you to turn around to castigate him just because one thin god somewhere decides he is no longer good enough for him
