The problem with Nigerians is that they think money is everything....the guy is more fulfilled where he gets 50k.. Its about passion! |

I can't accept the job that pays that N200,000 if there won't be another means of making daily dole from the firm, but I can stick to that my N50,000 job if I am making daily dole from the job. At the end of every month, that 50k is not touched. I will be able to handle all my financial issues with my daily dole, The 200k guy will be making all his budgets within that 200k. Finally, the 50k guy will be more better than him. I beliv the guy rejected the 200k job based on this principle. 3 Likes |

Wow. It's not all about money, there are other things you need to consider when taking up a job. It's better to take a job that pays lower and give you the time and freedom to do other side hustles that would give you more happiness and extra funds, than a job that pays higher but keeps you in bondage and takes all your time. Same thing happened to me...forget the guy ... He turned down the offer for fear of failing. I was on a 60k job and got another offer of 176k with other tips ... i took the offer and out of fear of failing or not wanting people to see my shortcomings and some distance issue, so i used the distance issh to resign from the offer and went back to my quagmire job where there was comfort and i was like a king.... but my eyes clear after a month... e be like say na village people do me, i come de regret. I began to query myself and probe myself the transformations in my life n orientation. Then i started watching Jay Shetty videos, Browns videos and other top notch foreign motovational speakers . Lo and behold anothet within 8 months another good offer came with big position n authority, the fear of failing was about crippling in with different excuses of " is the job secure? Hope there is no stress there? Is the salary regular? Are you sure you will succeed there" Na once i caution the spirit, hey stop am if na play oh...if i like make i fail. I must accept this offer. I told the company to give me 1 month notice that i want to go for professional certification, the new company said anytime you are ready to resume. I went for my professional certification and came back with full confidence and resumed the new offer. 4 Likes 1 Share |

I interviewed a lady once. She applied for a job that was reposted on Nairaland. The offer was for 200k. She turned it down saying she prefers to remain a teacher. Her pay by then was just about 40k but she's says that the fulfillment she gets from teaching she may not be able to get it in any other profession. So these things do happen. 1 Like |
