In the quest of bin smart, you will be outsmarted. I can give u a 100% guarantee on that because the system in which you want to embark on does not favor an investor.

Everyone can't be wrong at the same time, some have given u experiences they had and believe me u won't appreciate this advice until u get burnt by decisions you think were smart.
(Your thought, why should a driver earn more than an investor, whatever he makes he should get a certain percentage as commission)
Phranex, do you know what motivate drivers? that feeling of bin the boss is what does, that feeling of I must earn more than my investor is part of what motivates them. In this time and era, no one wants to be a slave for a long time especially those who know their onions and self worth.

On pen and paper the investor is the boss but in reality, the driver is (as long as ehailing is concerned).

I wish u good luck.

If u were an investor.. Your narrative will be different.

I had 2.2 million and wanted to buy a car just for uber.

I enquired about the biz.. I was told drivers remit 35k weekly..

I did some calculations and wasn't happy with the model.

I invested the 2.2 in bikes.. Bought 10 bikes at 218 each....

The 10 bikes earned me 70k weekly at 1k daily on the mainland.

I took 5bikes to lekki

5 bikes in lekki earns me 70k weekly at 2k daily
5 bikes on mainland earns me 35k weekly at 1k daily

Cumulatively, I earn 105k weekly.

If I had bought a car, I would be crying now...

I want to revisit uber business. This is why I am asking these questions..

My bikes have the capacity to buy a car for uber...

Now you tell me, shouldn't uber bring more money for an investor than a common bike

Abiodunnn:
Hello all,
Please guys don't do business with this fraudster named FLEETDRIVE. Here are my reasons:
1. He "helped" us buy a Nigerian used Honda city for 810k and did some "repairs" for another 100k. He had sent the picture of the car earlier but we weren't ready then. When we were ready, he resent the same picture with a higher price and lied it wasn't the same car...unknown to him that we kept the pictures

2. This car was with him for close to 2 months before he got a driver and therefore it was just "parked" in his yard

3. When he finally got a driver, he started saying its 30k he agreed to pay after promising 32,500. We let that slide too. He NEVER even paid the 30k in full for once, it was always one story or the other. We got paid for just 3 weeks for a car bought since June

4. This guy changed the tyres of this car (on our cost o) and when we called him that we were coming to get the car from him, he REMOVED all the tyres and REPLACED with BAD TYRES. The whole car looked like scrap sef when we got it back from him

5. We gave the car to a dealer to help us sell and almost all the parts of this car is bad from the gear box to the engine and he told us the car isnt worth more than 450k, that's how much people are willing to pay for the crap he sold to us.

6. Ever since we collected the car, all efforts to reach him were futile. He never replied our messages nor took our calls.

7. His overall customer service is bad. His office is ar Iwaya, i agree i fell for a scam, i don't want anybody to fall for this same scam called FLEETDRIVE LIMITED.

Thank you.
You can PM me for proof to this my story.

How involved where you in the purchase of this vehicle? Did you insist on inspecting what you were paying for? Did you send a mechanic (your mechanic) to ensure what you where paying for was worth every Naira? On this same thread I have warned about Nigerian used cars and low budgets, those two things do not fit in same sentence, In future try to be more involved with your investments, a lot of you where also scammed by the "peugeot" managers previously simply because most of you just sat in the comfort of your homes and transfered hard earned money to complete strangers to buy Nigerian used cars from abuja and kaduna (as if money is picked up on the streets in the north)

To the next person that will soon Get scammed, wake up and get involved in your investment decisions, if a car will be bought, go and see it first, ask questions, if tyres will be bought, buy them your self! And send to the manager, if engine oil will be changed, have it changed in your presence. Do not just assume every one is to be trusted. my father used to say opportunity makes a thief. Minimise the temptation and opportunities, Do things your self sometimes.

Meanwhile this is an allegation, and we are waiting for a robust response from herbewilliams aka fleetdrive.

I think fleetdrive is going under...

I contacted him a few days ago to enquire about any available car for rental, he gave me another guy's number who also runs a fleet coys to call and get more details...
I later learnt from a friend driving one of his cars that he's transfering the cars to another fleet coy to manage.

Let's say driver buy fuel 3k but tells me 4k

At the end of the he makes 10k (bad day)
10 -4 =6

The driver and I will share 6k .. He gets 2100 (35%)

He tells me the truth

10 - 3 = 7

The driver and I share 7k.. He gets 2450

Who loses if he lies, tell me?

Remember all expenses comes back to the investor as running costs... So from the 10k, the investor has expenses plus 65% of net profit

The driver loses if he lies....

If he tells me he spent xyz for repairs.. Whatever he earns , that xyz amount will be first deducted before we share the profit

E.g

He calls that the car broke down and mechanic needs 5k . I will transfer 5k to him.. He made 10k at the end of the day... What we will share as profit is 5k.. The 5k I sent will have to be deducted from the 10k...

This model is fool proof...

I will have to do some further permutations to be doubly sure tho
Oga you are disturbing us with your rubbish models, go and implement it joor, we can see that you are the next bill gates with your genius model, kindly excuse us, some of us dishonest Nigerian and fraudulent drivers are trying to learn, drive and earn a living. Your 10 bikes can carry minimum of 10 riders at once and 20 at most per trip

While

1 car can carry minimum of 1 rider at ones and 4 riders at most per trip.

Common sense;
you cant compare 10 bikes to 1 car.

1 bike can never earn as much as a car,
Comfort differs greatly.

10 bikes earns me 105 weekly

1 car earns 35 weekly

Cost of 10 bikes equals cost of 1 car.

If you are smart, u will know what to invest in

Meanwhile, anything happens to the car and the income stops for that week.

To be honest, all the answers you need have been told you. The thread has functioned as a voice of reason. A smart entrepreneur will listen.
It's different from the voice of naysayers, listen and amend your plan accordingly.

Just as I was about to launch my fleet management company, the thread advised me on the pitfalls to avoid.

However intelligent I thought myself, I had to listen. Because experience usually trumps theory knowledge.
Part of your work as an entrepreneur is knowing when you may be wrong. Even if you are right most of the time

My only question is, why are you trying so hard to convince us here?

Just Do It

You actually tried with this business model but did not factor-in a salient point: bike/okada riding is illegal on most roads in Lagos, these roads are the most lucrative route for bikes/okadas. LASG, Police, KAI, LASTMA, Taskforce will clampdown on both the organised and unorganised, perhaps after the election.

Confiscation of any property/asset is not covered under insurance.

Let me also add that as Uber/Taxify driver & owners are saving money for Mobil 1 oil, original parts etc; bike/okada drivers & owners should start lobbying Igbobi for bed-space.

Your mathematics is flawed.

That 1k was deducted from the total earnings as expenses.

He said 4k for fuel.. Total earnings is 10k

He actually bought 3k.. So he kept 1k abi..

When we want to share the 10..

We minus 4k which the actual 3k for fuel plus the 1k with him as expenses.

We now share 6k... He didn't cheat me.. He played a fast one on himself. If he likes he says the bought fuel for 7k whereas he bought fuel of 1k.. Remember he is buying fuel from my money... He has to pay the amount he used to buy fuel before we share profit.

10 minus 7 is 3

Is 3k we will share... He might have 6k with him but he gave me back the 6k as expenses.. Lol.. Not so smart after all....
