Thank you, I was surprised that there was auction last week. Is it that the government need money that bad? If it is so let them just increase the interest and more people will buy TBs.

That is not how it works. It does not have to be bi-weekly. The dates are determined by CBN and published in quarters. See the attached calendar for the 4th quarter.

Btw, NTB use of quarter is not your usual Jan-Mar, April-June, July-Sep, Oct-Dec. The TB calendar cycle is from December to November. First quarter is from December to February.

This showed how uncivilised you are. Check my posts, I have been doing TB for a long time I only got confused because of what happened last week. Moreover, I have downloaded the calendar and it did not open on my phone. Let us learn to be gentlemen and stop insulting people anyhow.

Please if you are investing #50m above for a primary market bidder. How much will they interest be? Or is it better to invest in FGN bond with that amount.

It depends on the tenor that you will choose and the rate it goes for at that material time. Your interest depends on 3 factors, you can control 2 being your capital and tenor but the rate is determined by the economics of demand and supply(fixed by CBN).

S.I. = Principal * Rate * Time

S.I.(Your case) = 50m * Rate * Time

(Rate is given in %, so divide it by 100 before multiplying, also Time is in days so you divide by 364 before multiplying).

Ok, I am a total novice who knows nothing about TB.
I have heard a lot of mentions lately about it and i feel it is worth investing in.
Lets assume i want to invest 10Mil for a start, what will be my generated profit after a year? How are profits Calculated and so many other things i need to know about it. Thanks

The profit is calculated on simple interest. Let say the auction for a year is at 13% interest that mean you will make 1.3 million naira on 10 million naira investment for a year and the money will be paid up front. But you will receive a little less than 1.3 million because of bank charges and commission which is usually very minimal.

Customers funds are intact. The decision taken by CBN was for good. No money is lost.

The 13% mentioned by @jay95 is based on assumptions, the interest rate fluctuates and can be less or more than the assumed 13% as quoted . The interest rate is solely regulated by CBN in conjunction with the FG of Nigeria.

I feel I was ripped off. Eco Bank gave me 11.5% for 360 days. Does it depend on the amount? Is yours above 10million please
