A Nigerian Catholic priest had passed away in far away Chicago in the US, leaving his friends, colleagues and well wishers in lament. The deceased identified as Rev. Father Collins Ekpe - was the parish priest of St. Kizito Catholic Church in Kuje area in Abuja from 2008-2013 before he relocated to America to study. 

According to Jacob Ugwuoke, a friend and classmate of the late priest, Father Collins died after he went into his room in Chicago to study and never came out alive. 

The real cause of his death is yet to be ascertained as some have attributed it to illness. 

Jacob Ugwuoke who is based in Illinois, Chicago, took to Facebook to share the sad news. He wrote; 

He is a class mate and a priest friend. We woke up Sunday morning to hear that he went into his room and never came out alive in Chicago where he was studying. Please pray for the happy repose of his soul. Tears in my eyes.
May his soul rest in peace.

I had a 63% despite not knowing why I couldn't get a 90 because that's the only question he asked me.

He was a strict priest who doesn't mind scolding a defaulting mass servant even during the course of his service: I've witnessed where he knelt down or slapped a mass servant.

I revered but still feared him that year.

So unfortunate he's gone; rip father Collins.

Rest on my former parish priest... Since the announcement of ur demise the entire parishioner of one big family St Kizito catholic community kuje have been throned into mourning.. We don't know why it should be now but God knows his reason, we hv no choice now but to keep praying for the repose of ur soul.
