What will happen when a Lady wants to dissolve a legal marriage and the man refuses or went to an unknown place in other not to be found?

Divorce in a situation where the spouse is not reachable is about the easiest. Living apart over a period of say two years is enough ground for divorce. The woman will head to court and yes,the court will issue order for them to be divorced.

She is free to date na,that's means adultery,but she cannot remarry yet until they are divorced legally if she remarries,her husband can sue her for polyandry.
The best for her is to just wait for her man,he will come back one day.

As for the second question,I dunno if he knows o,I'm not there with him.

The problem here is that shhe is no more interested... I think the 2 years part is why he didn't want to be available...Naija men.. Lol

She can initiate both the legal and traditional divorce process.
Once those processes have been initiated she can start a new relationship. Its not adultery because a separation processhas legally begun.
If the divorce is due to violence or fraud ( misrepresented whom he is prior to marriage/lied he s employed/didnt disclose medical or financial hardships) yoy will get legally divorced within a year.
But can you date, yes you can. You just cant get married till u r divorced. Same with the man.
However it will be more responsible if u hv initiated ur divorce, tht way the clock starts ticking but also any new intended boo, will see that u r taking steps to end all ties

No..i never said she is dating.. I just want to know how long it will take her to be free from him if he doesn't want to appear in court for divorce. The guy doesn't want divorce.

Make sure the lawyer tells the court that he has deliberately disappeared and you do not know where he is. If he doesn’t show up in court after several summons the court will grant your divorce in his absence.

I did say after several summons. Of course the court will give her their time frame.

I don't really understand this 2 years thing.. What if he makes himself available and ready eventually.. Would it still take 2 years? Is that the minimum time to complete a divorce papers or what?

Divorce in Nigeria takes 2yrs whether he appears or not. If he comes out to contest the divorce then it may take longer.
