ugo4u:Do the math. Before yesterday between 9 or 10. The two aircraft that collided were not the trainer version. I'd say 7. %70 proficiency rate (highly optimistic figure) means at best between 4 or 6 aircraft can be deployed for combat. |

ugo4u:I think the air force should place a cap on the weight of their pilots. some of them are just overweight and unfit to be fighter pilots. |

DDGN:Why don't you sit down and do the math? If 3 pilots ejected from a crash involving 2 fighter jets, what does that tell you? |

jpphilips:Payments should be done through an independent procurement agency, with funds going through EFCC vetting. Government to Government procurement, except in extreme cases were we need to use 3rd party brokers. |

I had posted this but deleted it since I don't like to comment on internal affairs. But I think this should put all questions at rest regarding tucano procurement. Did Nigeria have any say regarding the ways and means the 500 or so million dollars were to be returned ? Afaik the stolen money stashed abroad is at the mercy of the country who recovers it and how they return it subject to their terms and conditions. So all in all there was one option put forth , and the government took it. As for Pak.... F 7 I don't think there is any chance of procurement since they r short of required operational platforms. But as always who knows. As regards the naf fighter collision it is most probably due to disorientation or miscommunication , it is common cause during fly pasts etc. Exact reason will come out from court of inquiry. Condolences to the pilots family. |

ugo4u:True talk ? Having a waistline does not mean overweight What matters is height not weight. But that does not mean one will stuff in a obese pilot. Height becz if there is not the minimum clearence from the canopy during ejection the head might get crushed. |

"He said the air force was also expecting delivery of additional six brand new attack helicopters procured from Italy. “In the last three years, we have inducted 31 brand new aircraft and reactivated 13 others courtesy of support of President Muhammadu Buhari and members of the National Assembly. “Also, aside the (12) Super Tucano aircraft from the United States, which we are still expecting; we are also expecting another six brand new helicopters from Italy." https://independent.ng/airforce-acquires-31-aircrafts-as-alpha-jet-destroys-boko-haram-hideout/amp/ Is he referring to upamoured A109s? |

DDGN: ![]() Do you generate news yourself? This is rubbish. Aircrafts deployed for use here in the northeast are subjected to request from the theater command which is spearheaded by officers from NA and NAF. The attack you made mention of has officers of the Nigerian airforce as casualties so how will the airforce refuse to deploy? Are you on weeds? |
