The World’s biggest passenger Airliner, Airbus A380, owned by Emirates made its first landing in Accra, Ghana.

It is recorded to be the first in the entire West Africa.

It was flown in by a Ghanian Captain, Capt.Solomon Quainoo Nana and his copilot, Senior First Officer, Faisal Alhammadi from UAE.

The Airbus A380 arrived at the newly constructed Terminal 3 of the Kotoka International Airport on Tuesday afternoon to a rousing welcome by some airport staff and Ghanaians including old students of Koforidua Senior Secondary Technical School

The Airbus can fly up to 525 and 853 passengers depending on the class arrangement and this was to test the airport’s ability to accommodate the world’s largest commercial passenger jet.

Ghana showing what good governance means in all aspects. Do we have a Nigerian pilot in a foreign airline? It's expats everywhere with Phat salaries , bonuses, preferential treatment over their Nigerian counterparts.

Someone up there saying Ghana getting better than Nigeria just because of an imported aircraft. Africa is ever always importing and never manufacturing their own technologies, so we all are still in a mess.

BTW this aircraft may not serve much us in Ghana as it would if it had been in Nigeria. They don't have the population for that

meanwhile Nigerian government spent 2billion on airline logo. airline we never see till date.

Sad to note we currently dont have any Airport that can support the A380 in any capacity from taxiing to refuel , to pushback to alighting services to length of of runway but Ghana does

Chai! What a disgrace on a nation like Nigeria who shamelessly used 1.5Billion for an imaginary national airliner logo that was never to be.

Ghana is truly setting the pace in aviation. I was at the terminal 3 of the katoka airport Last week. It is an exact replica of the Barcelona airport in Spain. I was even told that Ghana airports, which is the builder paid using their account, they didn't borrow one Ghana or anything. Big ups. Naija which way nah
