contigiency:Even a dumb person except maybe your lifeless president knows when an election is rigged. And if it's rigged We'd seek redress otherwise, we'd let it lie. But how people choose to support buhari surprises me. This man is the worst Nigeria has ever had! Would you pray God runs your life the way buhari is running Nigeria? |

Purehuman:In 2015, PMB didn't score 10% in the whole of SE, yet he won. In 2019, he will score nothing less than 30% across the length and breadth of SS/SE, he will win big. |
| Re: Peter Obi Reacts To Atiku’s Victory by Sanchez01: 8:54am On Oct 08, 2018 |
PassingShot:That was 2015. Ask yourself what has changed from that time till this day. Security wise, we all know Fulani Herdsmen are hibernating because of Buhari. We also know they will continue if he wins and none of them will be apprehended let alone prosecuted. Exactly why people desperately looked away from Jonathan are the reasons why people are looking away from Buhari. |
| Re: Peter Obi Reacts To Atiku’s Victory by PassingShot(m): 8:56am On Oct 08, 2018 |
Sanchez01:Can you swear that Security has not improved since PMB came on board? Are you referring to politically sponsored herders? |

[s] goaldynman:[/b][/s] You are a foreigner to the SE. The South East whose women recently protested against the government on the disappearance of their son Nnamdi Kanu will never vote for APC even if you put a gun to their head. Clearly, you are not from the South East. Ndigbo, kwenu! |

| Re: Peter Obi Reacts To Atiku’s Victory by Sanchez01: 9:23am On Oct 08, 2018 |
PassingShot:Swear security has improved? Should we talk about increase in mutiny among the Nigerian Army or the 'technically' defeat of the Boko Haram? If the herders are politically sponsored, how come the president of Nigeria has never supported the prosecution of these herders? I recall Buhari reacting to a terror attack in Paris roughly a year ago when he never for once reacted to the terror of the herders. Where is the common man treated compared to Yusuf who fell off a bike supposedly bought with tax payer's money? How many times has the president left the shores of this country to the UK for medicals when a damning report was leaked about Aso Rock clinic not being able boast of Paracetamol despite its heavy budget? Don't worry, next year won't be the usual for Buhari as far as the South is concerned. |

madridsta007:We don't need to vote buhari to show our displeasure. We will just sit at home since there is nothing for us and buhari will win easily. 40% from the south west is not worth it, if it means losing the East, and he will lose the East if he tries any nonsense. |
| Re: Peter Obi Reacts To Atiku’s Victory by madridsta007(m): 9:31am On Oct 08, 2018 |
Rstc:Now you are speaking. The SE will rather sit at home than vote Buhari. Unless we want to deceive ourselves, this will be the case. |

fratermathy:Bros! Initially I didn't want to talk I even crossed your comment and read till page 3 but I saw u replying to some ppl who quoted u and now I said I must talk... Firstly, You just commented like the SE/SS are having issues without knowing that they are close pals regardless of what u might hear or see... And u forgot that SE voted Jonathan like their own son (don't tell me it is politics) Brother! Pls, never u take the Southeast for a ride! Forget what u read and see online... Those people are bunch of highly enlightened people like someone stated above... An average Igbo Man can never be pushed around talk less pushing him around anyhow... He and even she knows his/her Onions! So u think that, should Atiku and PDP decide to choose somebody else as Atiku's running mate the SE will act like zombies and still vote PDP... Note: I am not a fan of where a leader comes from, all I am against is tyranny and wickedness against the other human being like we are seeing today... Even the blind can see it and the deaf hear it clearly! So like I was saying, don't ever think that the SE can be taken for a ride... Even if they eventually vote for PDP, know u that they have their reasons... But to think that they have no choice is leaving in fools paradise... Imagine what has been going on in the East wen someone and ppl who don't occupy any political posts in Nigeria would tell ppl to sit at home and they do it willing because they know that they are fighting for a cause... Now, have u bothered to ask what this kind of thing, the consequences that this can cause the PDP and Atiku if the SE and as well all Igbos voters outside the SE (just like someone above helped enlighten you that more Igbo "voters" are outside the southeast than in the Southeast) decide to sit at home on that very day Not because they were told by any group to sit at home but because they feel that in reality, they wer insulted and looked down on![]() Do u think that PDP can really go fsrther the way they want Don't believe all this talks online that SE and Igbo votes don't matter... Let me tell u brother, in this present election, it (more than) really matters if u are really a political analyst u should understand and know better! You cannot insult an Ignore man brother and just go free you use pay one way or the other (don't call it cheastbeating). You might think he (Igbo Man) loves money, yes he does love money and so does everybody else! But most Igbo men are highly enlightened... They will eat your money and sit at home when provoked and when they hate you! That's an Igbo man for you! They will eat your money and do the right thing! They ain't Zombies! Mind you, this is a North-North election, everybody needs to get and break more barriers than he can get so as to urge mentioned for the divides in the NW/NE Please SE/SS are brothers and friends all in one! Forget what u hear about Igbo ppl wanting to take SS oil. Now everybody knows who the real "takers" of Sas oil are, whether the SE get oil and whether they have many other means of livelihood! Note: #SoutheathernsAreNotZombiesAsManyThink Peace be unto you! Guten Morgen!!! 100kobo ghostfacekillar sogodihno |

fratermathy:Your suggestion in the bolded amounts to "shifting the goal post during play". Why would your SS step down as Party Chair just after this convention for the sole purpose of clinching the VP slot. Na only una waka come? Nigeria has moved past such archaic and anachronistic politicking. You need to move along too. Don't lag behind. Whilst I must admit that SS and SE posses some electoral values, the major interest and task now would be how to make inroads into the North and South West. For equity, SE should be given top priority now. It is on record that Atiku got block vote from SE, I can't say same about your SS. Rivers gave their 100% to Tambuwal. This is not time to go vindicative anyway, as this has been the undoing of the current government. This is time to heal wounds and build bridges. I rest my case. |
| Re: Peter Obi Reacts To Atiku’s Victory by safarigirl(f): 9:36am On Oct 08, 2018 |
fratermathy:tell me ONE time when SS has voted away from the pattern of SE There are still the Igbo tribe in the same SS and in places like Delta and Rivers they have a substantial size. In the history of Nigeria, the SS has always aligned with the SE politically, the fact that you are here spinning your own tale cannot and will never change thay Maybe you get one uncle wey win comot for VP. Just remove your mind from there because e no dey happen. And if you don't know, the SE is not permanently PDP. They are a people with their own mind, they do not get moved easily. If you mess with them, they will not lie down and take rubbish. If PDP has sense, they know who to give VP to and your SS is nowhere near the equation. Hold that Chairmanship position with tight hand. We are not stupid |

safarigirl:I have no quarrel with your analysis as having an opinion is a fundamental human right. However, my grouse is with the idea that many of you subsume the SS under the SE and that reeks of ill-will. Forget about what you know and think through: do you really believe that the more than 30 non-Igboid related ethnic groups in the SS do not have their own political leanings and identity? Capital NO! In Delta State, for instance, Delta Central is now core APC. Delta South is divided. In Akwa Ibom, Ikot Ekpene district is now core APC. In Edo, APC wins the day. In Bayelsa, APC is forging on. In Rivers, APC is lurking behind. In Cross River, APC is booting. How then can you predict that the SS will give PDP bloc votes like the SE may? The point I'm making is simple: speak authoritatively only of the SE. The SS may overwhelmingly be PDP oriented but we have our interests, demands, and peculiar political formations. Its better you guys understand that and stop lumping the entire SS, with all its diverse interests, with that of the SE just because the same party holds sway in both regions. The SS has every right to demand for a VP slot and if we get it, we deserve it. We don't have to play pity politics when we know our place and position in the nation. |
| Re: Peter Obi Reacts To Atiku’s Victory by fratermathy(m): 10:15am On Oct 08, 2018 |
petsam11:I like your elucidation. Truly, the SS and the SE are brothers in many ways and no one is denying our shared heritage. In Delta State, where I grew up, Igbos are a central presence in everyday affairs. We all share a common ethos. However, this does not necessarily translate into socio-political identities, especially with the diversity of the SS. For instance, Edo State is in the SS and they have never aligned themselves with the SE in anything as far as politics is concerned. In Delta State, Delta Central and Delta South have their own unique socio-political identity from the Anioma Delta North region (which may or may not look eastwards). In Bayelsa, their socio-political identity is as unique as that of the SE. Although, the GEJ factor really aligned interests in 2015 but that was a long time ago. Many things have changed since then. Rivers State is a hotspot but generally more aligned with the SE. Akwa Ibom and Cross River States have their unique political leanings which are influenced by minority rights, resource control, federalism and better representation. Now let's get to business: The SS and SE seem to align whenever we have a common ground, as we have had in times past. Shift this common ground and you'd see that the SS has its diverse interests. If we have a party or candidate that appears to be committed to minority rights, resource control, equity, and other peculiar demands of the region, the SS will go towards that direction. If PDP selects a SSner as running mate, they would have committed themselves towards the region's interest in terms of minority representation. The problem that Delta and Rivers State delegates had with Atiku was that they felt he wouldn't represent the interest of the minorities well enough and thus, they supported Tambuwal. Now that Atiku won, he still has to prove that he can cater for minority interests as president and a big gesture, such as the VP slot, can seal that. The SE will still vote for Atiku regardless and the SW may or may not vote for him depending on his politicking. #MyOpinion |

fratermathy:we can say the same in parts of SE as well. In Imo State, APC is in power. In Anambra,it is even worse with 3 parties dragging ties, in Ebonyi, APC is lurking, even in Enugu, they are flirting with APC. So, what are you talking about? The only state that is core PDP in the East is Abia State. You deserve nothing. Your name is not "South South" you are just a selfish person who thinks you deserve everything. If any region in Nigeria deserves anything, it is the SE that has neither held the number 1 or 2 position since the inception of democracy in 1999, any other region seeking those posts is being greedy and if they get anything, it is greatly undeserving and an injustice. It is also a slap on the face to the SE that has supported candidates from every region in this country, even forsaking theirs at key points Thankfully, the PDP stalwarts have sense, unlike fake, self-serving political 'analysts'as yourself, who are looking for how to eat from another's pot. You better drop your idiotic postulation lest you suffer massive heart break. Eat the chairmanship, that is where the SS belongs for now. |

fratermathy:And you think that (SS quest), that will be driven home by an Atiku/SS running mate? OK! no problem! #YourOpinion you said and I will respect it... But what I don't like is still this your feeling that the SE don't have any other choice but to vote PDP (Atiku)! like the SE is tied to PDP... Bro, I can only tell you to stop dreaming because if worse comes to worst, and (note) the SE and all Igbos both indigenous Igbos in SS and parts of Benue as well as the Igbo resident outside the SE will sit at home on that very day and watch as the whole drama will unfold and finish for PDP and Atiku... But as u said, it's your opinion and u are entitled to it! And I respect it still!!! |

If Atiku does not pick an Igbo VP, then it is very likely that Biafran agitators will declare the election days as an ofensala day. Which will ruin Atiku's chances. However, If Atiku picks a SE VP, then two things will happen:- (1) No chance of getting any significant votes from SW. (2) SS could become disaffected and not throw their full support to Atiku. Atiku is between a rock and a hard place. And this without even considering that he would lose the North to Buhari substantially. Based on this realities I predict that: Buhari would win re-election for 4 more years. And PDP will return back to opposition. |
