Igbos make up 25 - 30% of eligible voters in Southwest (especially in Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Osun).

Igbos make up 3 - 7% of eligible voters in Northwest (especially in Kano and Kaduna...have u heard of Sabo-ngeri)

Igbos make up 15 - 30% of eligible voters in Southsouth (especially in Rivers State, Delta State, Cross River State and Akwa-Ibom State)

Now, 90 - 95% of eligible voters in Southeast are mostly Igbos because every other tribe living in Southeast usually travel back to their states to vote while majority of Igbos remain wherever they reside and vote there during election.

You can verify this if you are honest to yourself.

Jim Agbaje followed Ambode closely in the last election all because of Igbo people's majority vote in Lagos....this is also the reason EL-Rufai resspect Igbos in Kaduna.

Take it or leave it, Igbos are the only single tribe in Nigeria that has the highest number of voters cross across all regions of Nigeria, so play with them at your own peril!

Igbos will massively counter Yoruba people's vote for Buhari in Southwest come 2019 because Igbos make up close to 30% of Southwest voters.

You can argue with your keyboard for all I care, the truth is there for all to see...

Goodluck lost because the northerners he trusted to deliver him in the north failed him....Buhari didn't win Goodluck with huge margin in Southwest, thanks to Igbo voters who voted for Goodluck massively and will do same for Atiku come 2019!

Other people u cited...back then, Igbos never cared about who becomes the president of Nigeria...only the few political Igbo elites cared back then and aligned with whoever favored them...and the Igbo masses never followed them to vote and will never vote based on what one political elite demands....Igbos vote based on individual perception of the candidate based on how peaceful, liberal minded and success-driven that candidate is....we don't follow godfathers like Southwest!

Are you statistics backed by NBS or census commission, if not stop spreading falsehood. Through out Yorubaland Igbo's don't account for 2 out of 10 people and that's a golden fact. Abok1 are even everywhere here as may suya, may guard etc, you would only see Igbos in one out of over 10 indigenous market

Statistician, please provide the voting population of Ndigbo and other non yorubas in Lagos, bearing in mind that the biggest Landlords in Lagos are not yorubas which reflected in more non yorubas winning elections into state and national assembly in 2015 despite the rigging machinery of thief-nubu. Keep fooling yourself with those vague statistics. Ndigbo and non yorubas have a very strong voting presence in the SW.

Lagos is just a part of SW not the whole of SW.

How, for instance, will your 'ndigbo and non-yorubas' votes affect election result from Ogun state?

Think!

this is why Anambara people are known as heartless people. So, somebody from Ebonyi, Enugu or Imo is not qualified until the person comes from Anambara? This attitude is very bad. Anambara people's wickedness is holding the Southeast back. I have never seen or heard yoruba person craving to see that a certain political post is given to a particular state. Let me just say this, even if the person comes from Anambara, you will still not be satisfied more than Enugu people because you will be crying that the person didn't come from your local government or even from your community. that is Anambara people for you. Being fooolish in wicked way.

Corruption meets corruption.

When Integrity met integrity, the result was lack of development, poor economy, unemployment/loss of jobs, health tourism, failed promises etc.

Corruption is not the reason why we can't develop as a nation. Lack of ideas or cluelessness on the part of our leaders is the problem.
How can a man seek power at a time when our economy needs expert hands to help it grow... At a time when boko haram and other insecurity challenges needs immediate attention... At a time when our teeming youths are lacking jobs... Yet a man who desperately seek power at such a time didn't have any clue on how to solve these major challenges facing the country? Yet people ignorantly voted for him because they believe he can fight corruption.
After three years of fighting corruption, where are we?
Corruption exist in other countries, yet they are developing. When we have leaders that knows the right things to do to move this country forward, we'll develop, with or without corruption.

You are absolutely spot on. I wonder why some of these guys think they can take over your land politically.

It is very obvious picking the VP from SW will be the best way to go so as to divide the votes from the region.

If he picks from the SE, I just hope it does not backfires. SW or SE, my vote is going to PDP

Why pick from SE when that zone is already in the bag for you? no political capital gained from that pick.
SE SS NE and NC are going to vote for Atiku.
SW and NW wil vote for Buhari and their combined vote is more than the other 4 zones.
So what will an intelligent man do? pick your VP from the SW zone and flip it to a toss up zone. Buhari will win NW no question but you win SS SE NC and NE being your zone and battle SW with him. So while Buhari has one and half zone Atiku has four and half zones.
Election over.
But if he makes the mistake of picking his VP from the SE. then SW and NW with few states from other zones might make Buhari win which will be a major disaster for this country. No disrespect to he SE but their voting strength is only 8 million. SW is twice that at 14 million and Atiku is their main man he will give them the SP or SGF so they will vote for him regardless of VP slot or not so why waste it. use it to gain political leverage.
My 2cents.

•To decide on zoning of position between South-west and South-east tomorrow
•Age, knowledge of economy key criterion for nomination

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has begun earnest search for his running mate as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline for the submission of names of parties’ candidate expires on Monday.

By the 1999 Constitution as amended and the Electoral Act 2010 as amended, no candidature is complete without a running mate.
THISDAY sources close to the Atiku camp said at least three technocrats and two politicians have been penciled down for the position.

The technocrats are, former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof. Charles Soludo; former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina; and former Managing Director of Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON), Mr. Chike Obi.

The politicians being considered for the number two position are, former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, and the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu.

According to a source, the candidate and the PDP hierarchy are still undecided on the zone the position should be allotted. But he said the scope had been narrowed down to the South-west and the South-east.

“We would have to weigh the electoral value of both zones and decide where we would allot it,” the source said, explaining that there was the need to maintain a balance between the existing political configuration, which requires the party to challenge the dominance of the APC in the high voting South-west by picking a running mate that would challenge the electoral advantage of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; and the need to retain the loyalty of the South-east that had remained a PDP stronghold.

Both zones were believed to have helped Atiku to neutralise the Northern zones’ delegates’ votes that went to Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal during the presidential primary on Saturday.

A source told THISDAY that the matter would be trashed out tomorrow at a meeting of the presidential candidate with the party hierarchy.
Apart from zoning, Atiku is also said to be considering age and knowledge of the economy and economics as two major criterions for the selection of the running mate.

According to a source, the presidential candidate thinks his running mate has to be a much younger person as a strategy to appeal to the army of youths, which is already up in arms against the old brigade.

Atiku is, however, said to be insisting that such a young man must also have deep knowledge of the economy as his focus is on the revival of the economy to create jobs for the teaming unemployed population.

“His challenge, therefore, is how to strike the balance between getting a youthful running mate and an economy savvy candidate. Both must be rolled into one,” a source said, explain that this might have informed the short list that was revealed to THISDAY.

Getting a vp from the SE doesn't look politically sound, the SE always overwhelmingly vote for PDP so does the SS, the SW is a swing zone if I were Atiku I would get a VP that can swing the SW to PDP. Ordinaryly the best zone to pick a VP would have been NC but it's regarded as the north.
