i have a feeling its spoilt for good, and the phone is just 10months old. Its been a week since it fell in water

You shouldn't have rushed charging or putting it back on immediately. Also drying in rice requires you leave it covered in rice for at least a week. You did well cleaning with alcohol but you need to leave it in the rice for a very long period. May be you should try that

Later i opened the phone , unscrewed everything and use alcohol to clean the panel(at least that's what they said on youtube). I let it dry and then i plugged the charger. But it started blinking RED light and it won't come on.

What do you suggest i do guys?

You made a mistake, when we open panels as phone repairers, we remove just the panel then clean it with petrol and dry it off with heat. I don't know if alcohol works or not but i think they work similarly. What you are experiencing now might not be a panel problem, your screen is probably damaged due to the fact that it is waterlogged.

As someone already explained, short circuiting might have taken place on the board which might make it difficulty to wake the phone. Expert phone repairers can though but it's a lot of work cos they will have to trace the faulty component then remove it with heat.

I think you should try changing the Message centre number of your simcard to the appopriate one under setting in your sms app.

Don't give up too soon. Just try drying it in the rice once more... More like forget it in there and move on. Someday go back to it and you might be shocked. Happened to my laptop and after some years out of curiosity I plugged in power and it came on undecided

ur phone may still come up i remember my gionee m5 marathon it fell into a bucket of water, i soaked it in rice did everything even took it to a technician who confirmed i may need to change d screen, i just dumped it at home started using it as powerbank, d phone came up after a month
