dumprep:
My great family. It has happened! The joy I feel right now cannot be described. My chest o!

I remember precisely on the 28th of September when;

iaatmguy said, "aswearoGod but i wonder why those announcing type short post and term it "LONG POST ALERT". Mods please lets enforce PPR announcement to be 1,000,000 words".
iaatmguy, i hope say you don fix that keyboard? Lol.

30 minutes later, Ifeoma77 replied saying, "I second this motion jare! Every time I see "It's PPR, Long post alert", e dey sweet my belle. We want more".

Tojued (talking to Expectantbee) said, "Congratulations! Eagerly awaiting the full gist! Like was suggested today, please make it as long as possible".

So please, abeg, biko, ejo, make una permit me to sweet Ifeoma belle, enforce iaatmguy's PPR-announcement-with-1-million-words policy and make it as long as possible for Tojued by declaring this announcement a #LONG FUNNY DRAMATIC POST. Enjoy!

Somewhere in Lag where I was jejely on my way to work this morning, I saw Broda Shaggi and McLively and this happened.....

Me: "Hello Broda Shaggi"
Broda Shaggi: "ah! Ore mi! Ow are you? Any queshun for d day? Oya......hit me!"
Me: "Broda Shaggi! I got my PPR this morning!"
Broda Shaggi: "Shuo! Na queshun be dat? PRP? wetin be PRP?"
Me: "No Broda Shaggi. Not PRP. It is called PPR. The PPR is the email an applicant receives.......".
McLively: #interrupts rudely: "My friend! He ask you what PPR is and you have take 2-way flight to Ottawa and come back to Mushin. What is PPR? Simple question! PPR means Passport Request. It means......"
Me: "Oga. The question was not for you".
McLively: "Ehnnnn...but...but I choose to answer it".
Broda Shaggi: "LOL. LMAO. LIMFAO. Ogbeni! You neva answer my queshun. I say wetin be PPR?!!"
Me: "PPR is Passport Request. Also commonly known as the Golden Email. It is an email an applicant receives which indicates that their Canadian Permanent Residence application is successfully approved and it notifies the applicant to submit their passport at the visa centre for onward processing. ".
Broda Shaggi: "Golden wetin? Canada? So how me sef go take enter Canada? Becos dis naija no be country, na state and capital. As dis country dey like dis, dem suppose give dis country visa make e travel, make e go see e mates - Canada, Dubai, America, make e go see how dem dey do. Oya show me d Canada way na?"
Me: "Ok. The first step you need to take is to calculate your CRS, then do your ECA (with WES or IQAS), then write the IELTS, then....."
Broda Shaggi: "You dey smoke abi? E be like say ironic bomb dey your head abi? All dis acrimony wey you dey mention.....
"
Me: "No Broda Shaggi. It's called 'atomic bomb' and they are called 'Acronyms' not 'acrimony'. Also, you have to first do some research on Canada Express Entry. You can go to Nairaland for more info.......".
Broda Shaggi: "Nairaland? No be those pipu wey dey say make newcomers go read from Page 1? Their fada!"
Me: "Yes, they are good people. Also...."
Broda Shaggi:"Also kini? If dem born anybody well, make dem tell me say make i go read from page 1. E be like say fufu wey don spoil dey una belle."
Me: "But Broda Shaggi. If you want to be a permanent resident in Canada, Nairaland can help you achieve that. It is a great and wealthy source of information and inspiration. There are great and kind folks who are always willing and ready to help. We have GlitteringStar, NewMum0615, Ifeoma77, joo2018, Elfmannisback, einsteino, kontagious, Tojued, cochtrane, Hephgirl, iaatmguy, the ever-helpful-three-colored musketeers (smslive2, mcstan18, sunvick), TEECANN, luffyhaki, ysteph, "je m'apelle Ramj", jholarharde, NanaF, radec, stonecoldcafe, guitarlife, bbaby84, tolfa, happytbaby, CanadianBae and many other awesome people."
Broda Shaggi: "guitar wetin? Elfman is where? shey na people name be dat? People wey dey for dis our naija?"
Me: "No, it's not their names, it is their monikers".
Broda Shaggi: "Monica? No be woman name be dat? Dis Ifeoma77 wey u mention, na woman abi?"
Me: "my broda, me sef no know if Ifeoma77 na woman. Ifeoma dey use our head play ludo".
Broda Shaggi: "so you don tell all these moniker your timetable?"
Me: "No Broda Shaggi. It is called Timeline, not timetable. My ITA was May 9, AOR was June 13, MEP/IP1 was June 26, IP2 was October 9, ADR (Updated Bank Statement) was October 10, ADR submitted same day, PPR mail came in at 4:17 AM today (October 16), Visa Office is Ottawa, AOR to PPR is 125 days, Single applicant".
Broda Shaggi: "Oyaaaa!!!! Tell dem! Because Oyinbo say what? A Express Entry is a game changer for the illegal immigrant for d moniker and the continent of Nigeria and the diaspora".......#doing the broda shaggi pose......."Taink u!"
Me: "illegal immigrant? I am not an illegal immi....."
Broda Shaggi: #interrupts and does the broda shaggi pose again. "i say.......taink u!"

grin grin grin

LOL........................

Thanks guys for all the invaluable information, helpful tips and encouragements. I love the spirit here. Such an atmosphere of friendly and pleasant people with positive mindsets. The collaboration, support and eagerness at which everyone helps each other is amazing. God bless you all.

Most importantly, I thank God for seeing me through every step of this arduous albeit exciting and interesting journey.

My announcement would NEVER be complete if I don't pray to God to immeasurably bless my altruistic and selfless brother @Topsmamen whose constant encouragement piqued my interest to try Express Entry shortly after he sacrificed so much for me by paying my tuition fees to go for my Masters in the UK in 2015. Prior to that, Naija dealt me a heavy blow as I was going through harsh times at my place of work and I had lost so much weight and looking pale. I decided there and then that since I wasn't born to suffer, I needed to throw my punch back at Naija. My brother once saw a picture of me looking frail and malnourished and he was quite stunned like "Haba! This is too much na. We need to get you out of Naija. Let's try the UK". I was glad he read my mind but I had no idea how I could single-handedly leave the country and fend for myself (with a meagre salary and with not much to go on). The plan was that I would do my best to settle in the UK because at the time, we presumed that my degree and experience in Health and Social Care would fetch me a job and I would settle in the UK (smh....how ignorant we were). Friends and family residing in the UK also encouraged me to try the UK with promises of helping me with a job and settle in the UK (I should have just 'yinmu-ed' at them but my desperation to leave Nigeria made me believe and swallow their story). After completing my Masters, village people somehow made me go back to Nigeria and the hustle continued. It got worse, I went into making cocktails and beads to survive. I eventually got a job at a hospital with a salary of 40k and to make matters worse, my salary was never paid on time. At this point, my brother was too broke to help the family as he had just spent his entire life savings on my Masters. Till today, I do not know how we managed, but God kept us.

Fast forward to 2017 and he came up with the Express Entry idea. His words were "why don't you try this too? You have a Masters degree, age is on your side, and all you need to do is write the IELTS and evaluate your Masters degree". I felt bad that he had spent a lot of money on me and we ended up not achieving our ultimate goal for me to settle in the UK so I told him I would wait till things got better as I could not put him through this again. He explained that my going to the UK was not a waste as I had achieved a Masters degree and that as a matter of fact, the Masters degree would help boost my CRS points and this made a lot of sense. We had no idea how we would get funds to start the process considering that a lot of money would be involved, I felt totally helpless but after several discussions with him, and knowing that he also had no idea where the money would come from, we held on to faith and we decided to take it one step at a time starting with WES. This decision was made on May 5, 2017. I remember that day vividly because that was the first time I learned of the province - "Saskatchewan". I took to the internet to do research on Express Entry and Canada, I looked at several internet images and read up about Canada and before i knew it, I was having a crush on Canada. Basically, plans for my life became Canada-focused. I spent a great deal of time reading about my new Country and the provinces/territories: their culture, history, employment, skill gaps and socio-economic development. My research was quite deep that I even got to learn that Nova Scotia is well known for their fish and lobsters....lol. I imagined myself in Canada already (Yes, I can dream not just for Africa, but the world too). In November 2017, I stumbled on the Part 2 of the Canada Express entry on Nairaland and page 1 caught my attention. God bless Zandora, 40manlappy and GlitteringStar for placing such detailed and vast information in a properly arranged manner. God bless you all. The infamous Page 1 is not a punishment as people think, it's actually quite an interesting read. The people who have created this life-changing threads have done tremendously well and deserve praise. I mean, it's a lot of work. I implore newbies to read as much as possible, this has been repeatedly advised by countless people and do not take it personally when you are referred to Mr Page 1. The knowledge you gain by reading here can never be taken from you and will forever be yours to keep, so read up guys. None of us got here knowing all what we know now. Take a look at our beloved brother - smslive2, who was once a newcomer but now has over 2 million Nairaland followers and has built an empire in Nairaland City (Bro, no be shots fired this time o, na accolades fired. Lol. The calmness and patience you display in your responses to questions are laudable, please keep up the good work).

So my people, that was how he did everything (from my 'deciding-to-go-to-Canada' stage up till PPR). He prepared me for the IELTS and thankfully, my first and only attempt was LRWS: 9, 9, 8, 8.). He paid my WES fees, dived into the pool with me (I mean, he created and submitted my EE profile....lol). Together, we painstakingly spent several weeks in contact with each other to ensure that my former employer wrote the reference letter correctly and also to ensure that my bank statements, gift deed, LOEs and additional documents were in the required formats. He re-reviewed all my documents and ensured they were in good order, he deposited $7,000 into my account as part of my gift deed (when he was barely managing his own finances and other obligations), he paid my RPRF fees and submitted my eAPR. He also paid for and ordered my GCMS notes.

I am utterly blessed to have him as my brother. He took the pain of constantly checking my profile and always told me, "Don't worry, your PPR will come soon". He basically took most of the pressure off me. I owe him a great deal of gratitude and God-willing, I will return the favour in a million fold. There are countless great things that he has done in my life that mentioning them here would make this my PPR announcement seem like an ABRIDGED GIST.....lol. Many thanks bro! You're a rare gem. God bless you in unimaginable ways. #MyRealMVP#MySuperHero#YouCameThroughForMe.

To my fellow sisters and brothers - dumsydsassy1, Tippex, wizean, vickyehi, doncorleone, ShininLite and other June AORS, I can't wait for your PPR announcements. I'm praying along and rooting for you guys.

For those who are on the verge of giving up on this journey, please do not despair. Divine help will definitely come your way.
For those in different stages of the application, let us keep being hopeful, the wait might be exhausting and stressful, but it will eventually happen. Last last, we would all meet in Canada someday and rejoice over our PR successes and laugh at the interesting drama and plenty fights here.

On my way now to submit my passport sharply as I owe my loving brother some sweet 15 sibling points. The journey is not over until we both get our COPRs and land in Canada. It will surely end in praise. #DancingShakuShakuAway. I will keep you guys updated as events unfold. Thank you All.

Make I drop this phone and hold my dear passport tight because this bus conductor is looking at me like .........

What a brother!! A rare gem. Congratulations

Good day all. I’m a silent reader on this thread and I desperately need an answer. My husband is the primary applicant and is self employed. His company is a limited liability company. Are tax receipts compulsory? If yes,is it FIRS or LIRS? Hoping to get a response to enable us move forward and prepare all our documents while waiting for ITA. Thank you

For a limited liability company, it's FIRS that will give tax clearance

I also noticed that my Medicals is still stating not required and also BGC is in process (it has been like this since about 5 days after AOR).

My people...JEHOVA JIREH HAS DONE ME WELL. I still can't believe it ooooooooo. Finally the wait is over. IT's PPRRRRRRRRRRR!

I remember how bad I felt when IELTS first humbled me. Me like this! An English graduate and a well acknowledged good writer...story for another day. I used ieltsJay to console myself.

My spouse was not left our in the humbling too. He is as I call him 'English Master'. We were both humbled .

Here's my timeline:
First IELTS (BC): 12th May LRSW - 7, 7.5, 8, 6.5 - created a profile and stood at 372
Second IELTS (MOD): 30th June LRSW - 9, 8.5, 7.5, 7 - profile upgraded to 444.
Spouse aced his second attempt too - LRSW - 8,8.5, 7, 8

First profile became ineligible after I changed NOC. I came here, searched the thread and found a solution. I created a new profile on July 18th with same GCkey. (People please learn to search the thread, it's loaded with lots of information)

ITA: July 25. Cut off was 441
AOR: August 15th
MEP and BIL: September 16
Biometrics done: September 17
Ghost update: October 13
PPR: October 16 at 12.59am dated October 15.

Application remained in IP2 from AOR. Family of 5

We prayed so hard about this application. I claimed everybody's speedy testimony especially Kwado88 and Mepconsultant but God did it in His own time.

POF: Treasury Bill certificate and Dorm account. The savings account was empty but we still printed the statement to show we bought TB from there. We sidnr attach Salary account statement but we showed proof of employment and attached payslips with reference letter.

It's been a long and very emotional journey. I can't even remember the things to post again. I booked a space here on page 1 of this part 5 and yer, God did it finally!

BIG congratulations to u Favoured2505. Yes, it could only have been God. God will continue to favour u and your spouse.

Apologies KeemaQ for the mix up. My AOR is Sept 17. I noticed the BGC status change 5 days after my AOR - around Sept 22. And my former biometric details has been updated also. It was updated with my initial UCI on the 13th of October ....but still no changes on the Medical as it still has as current status ‘You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes’.
This is so confusing......

Medicals and biometrics don't lead to change in your UCI. UCI changes when the documents you submitted are checked and found complete. It is called completeness check R-10. I stand to be corrected by the seniors though.

You don't need to go to Lagos or Abuja personally to submit your passports. You can send it by courier to them. They have outlined the process on their website. Here read this: https://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/nigeria/how_to_apply.html#temporary_documents

@glowberry,
I completely agree with you. My interpretation of this sentence also was that his UK PCC should still be valid as he did not stay 6 months in a row this time i.e. he wasn't resident anymore but just visiting.

glowberry:

You can use it, this is what the website says

'For any other country from which you need a police certificate: the police certificate must have been issued after the last time you stayed in the country for 6 months or more in a row.'

You can also check for yourself here ; https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/apply-permanent-residence/police-certificates.html

Don't despair, it's very possible to get the golden mail before the end of this year.
AVO is unpredictable, they have timelines longer than LVO and they also have timelines shorter than Ottawa.
On CanadaVisa forum, there's a member with June AOR and got PPR August 18th. AVO

I'm AOR Aug 24th too o. Please how did you find out your visa office? Did you have to call? Or have you already ordered the notes?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by raphrulz: 8:35am On Oct 17, 2018
Yes you can call their number. They will tell you your VO. You can even ask them some specifics on the progress of your application. Good luck

Remain positive dear. Even when it looks bleak. These guys remain unpredictable sincerely. Just remain positive and pray hard. God will do it. Amen. I wish you a fast-tracked process.

Slim chances. But never say never. These guys never want to be predicted. I will however keep advising those that are yet to dive into the pool (and have complete documents) to quickly do so.. you just may never know.
