Hurray!!! One more roll call before our beloved December, I'm so in awe.

Wonderful December Mamas, how are we doing.
The long awaited 3rd trimester here, we are getting closer to the D-Day. 12weeks or less to go isn't that beautiful. Thank God for bringing us this far.

Wow, shopping made me realised this is truly happening for real. It will surely end in praise for us all.
Mamas let's try and conclude our shopping as soon as possible so we can atleast wash and iron before packing. I pray God makes provision speedily before we get too heavy to be going around the market.? God will see us through in Jesus name, amen.

I didn't really believe I could just get pregnant after one trial without condom just like day so I was thinking after period we ll keep on trying. Long story short time for period came I didn't see, four days late I still didn't see so on a weekend woke up early to go to fiancés place on my way bought pt and that was how we tested positive after one round only on a Friday night.

Immediately I knew I was pregnant hypermesis gravidarum started couldn't eat or drink and I was to go to work I ended up being admitted in the hospital but I was given just 4 days at my place of work to resume back.

All glory to God I was well on my feet the following week buh d vomiting persisted even at work such that I ll be attending to customers next minute I'm saying excuse me sir be right back and I've gone to puke my lungs out, put on make up and go back to smiling to customers(bank work).

Second trimester came and I was well on my feet jumping frm pillar to post and the pregnancy was smooth until my blood pressure started rising frm 110/70 to 160/80 which was atttibuted to work stress.

Explained to my boss at work but all she said was I am a banker now bank work is stressful so I just told my self I wunt kill my self cos of work, I took it easy on myself but the bp just kept rising until I went to antenatal and the gynae told me madam you are 38 weeks plus I will allow you go on with this pregnancy cos he had been begging me since 36 weeks I refused just cos of my leave which was starting 25th of oct.

Eventually I was booked for elcs the next morning and my beautiful princess was born, the road to recovery has been smooth all thanks to God.

@Cappo Jina24 and other mamas... We were doing fine until yesterday afternoon oo. I'm beginning to experience a different kind of pregnancy as against my first. I started to spot yesterday afternoon. No cramps or pain and what not. Kind of disturbed, but I'm really not freaking out per say...and i dont want to get crazy with meds. I'm on my way to get a sonogram, so I can see what's really going on inside me. We are 12 weeks plus 4 days today, so I really don't get what all this nonsense is about. Anyone experienced this sh*t before? How una manage?

Birth Story.

After Múná, I had cervical prolapse due to the long and difficult labour ( I was on 10cm dilation for 3 hours because of anterior cervix wàhálà). We all know the 10cm contraction is the baba of all.
Kegels helped to put the cervix back in place and I healed just fine but I had a niggling fear that cervical incompetence might be something to worry about for subsequent pregnancies.
Back to 2018, got pregnant again.
MS was very mild. No serious aversion to food but smells really pissed me off. Still very active. No one knew I was pregnant at work till I was well into my 2nd trimester and some into my 3rd sef.
God be praised, I was able to carry to term without a cerclage but the decision to choose between another CS or another VD was tough. I kept remembering how long I had to wait for Múná but I also remembered how easy I stood up after birth and the fact that I didn't have to stay so long in the hospital.
So I just decided to let the pregnancy go like a ftm. If along the way, there was need for a CS.... No wàhálà. If not, we go rough am laidat.
3rd trimester was the most challenging because I couldn't move around so well anymore cos of the big bump. Dr kept saying big baby but that's what they always say for my babies and we never get to 3.5kg. I fell sick and honestly just wanted the baby out then but she was too little. By the time she was 35 weeks plus and big enough, my health and vibe wás back in place and I decided to let her come in her own time.
By mid September, I began to see mucus plug and honestly felt I would port, it promptly stopped as soon as I went on leave. Imagine taking leave so you can birth and baby doing you hide and seek cheesy

All through October, I was having contractions but never regular, usually painful but sometimes painless. I was still my active self, did school runs, shopped, did my business.
Then I was told the reason I had a big bump was cos I had 2 placentas....2 placenta and one baby. Which could have resulted from a vanishing twin or from my placenta splitting into 2 cos of the size. For a while I felt sad for the loss of a child I didn't know was ever there, I did another scan elsewhere to get a second opinion and check if there was any hidden twin anywhere (I hate surprises) but none was found. Instead it revealed that the 2 placenta was thinly joined and the Dr that would handle delivery would need to be careful and make sure to remove all of the placenta to avoid bleeding.

October 14th. Woke up 6am to regular painful contractions, 10 minutes apart lasting 60 seconds. Real deal.
But I had a raffle draw to attend grin grin
So despite the contractions, I dressed up and the kids and I headed out to VI, where we met AlphaHandMaiden, Phoebe and the nameless baby cheesy. My kids had fun but I was just contracting badly every 10 minutes. I drove to and fro. I would race the car in between contractions and slow down when it hit.
Got home around 6.30pm. Sent the kids upstairs and I stayed out with the neighbors to distract myself. Then the contractions disappeared......
You say what?!!!
Got upstairs and ate pineapples and the contractions resumed. Today na today. No more hide and seek.
Contractions still every 10 minutes, sometimes it would shorten to 8mins even 5 min then it would disappear only to appear after 2 hours. Then I remembered my neighbor gave me ewedu (jute) and asked me to cut the root part off and cook the stem and leaves and drink the water. Took half a glass of it and slept off despite the pain.
Woke up 1am to serious contractions, couldn't even time it again. The pain was much.
Kept giving my husband hot abara so he could rub my back for me. God bless that guy for me kiss. He made this delivery very bearable for me. He kept rubbing my back and he was tired too cos I had to keep waking him up.
In my previous pregnancy, during labour I am a shouter.... My shout dey shake hospital but u decided to try the panting method this time around and guess what? It seemed to work better than it did in the past or is it that I'm now the one who knows what to expect in labour.
I was sha panting and bearing the pain till I couldn't anymore. I was beginning to scream and we decided to go to the hospital before I woke the whole neighborhood up.
My bags had already been put in my car earlier in the morning cos I felt I would just branch hospital from VI. Got to the hospital, nurses were asleep and sluggish. Dr was still booting.
Nurse said she wants to time how many contractions I would have in 10 minutes. Like 3-4 hit me straight up in that time. They didn't know I was just bearing it.
I was checked and found to be 6cm gone.
But I had certain test results I needed to confirm. My OGTT (diabetes) needed to be confirmed, I don't need you pumping me full with glucose if I have gestational diabetes. I also needed her to read my scan reports on the placenta matter. My BP was also shot high. 180/130 as against my regular 120/80 all through pregnancy.
What to do.
I was contracting almost every 2 minutes.
My. BP was high
My. OGTT result was missing
They weren't prepared for a CS.

Part 2.

So there I was, in the Drs office, questioning her every move, asking what her plan was. She looked to me like she was overwhelmed. She needed time to think and plan but I had no time. The contractions weren't letting up and I was beginning to see red. The nurse told the Dr that I should be moved from the observation room to the delivery room in case baby came earlier.
I got to the hospital around 4.13am ó. By this time it wá slime 5.15am. Husby practically towed me upstairs cos each step I took was painful.
Got to the delivery room, they were rushing to set things up, Dr was confused, normal saline drip or dextrose sugar? I could have diabetes and my BP was high. The nurses advised her to go with dextrose since my BP was still very very high and rising. The consultant called and asked her to give add salbutamol to the drip. The contractions were so close that by then I didn't have any patience again, they broke my water and asked me to push with the next 2 contractions cos I was already at 10cm. So fast right grin. In less than 2 hours, the joys of being a 3TM.
I was told my cervix was fully effaced and very soft and I could get away with no tear if I pushed right but by then I was very weak and thirsty. I pushed with all my might (I pushed just twice for Múná ó) several times but nothing. I tried all means and the contractions stopped again. Are you kidding me?!
The nurse gave me a cut and brought the head out forcefully, she kept yelling.... I need help here! The others had rushed out to do one thing or the other.
One nurse went to attend to another woman in labour.
Dr was looking for my OGTT result.
The other Dr was getting my Salbutamol
Another nurse went for one thing one thing.
It was just this nurse, my husband and I.
As she was shouting I need help, me ṣef was shouting Help!!!! in a louder voice.... Abeg who wan die?
When we didn't see anyone, she instructed my husband on what to do and told me.... Your baby's head is blue. I need you to push with all your might.
Blue? That wasn't part of the plan. Not for me. Not for Akorede.
I pushed and pushed and nothing. She legit expanded my vagigi with her hands and brought Akorede's shoulders out. She kept screaming... Cord around the neck! Baby is blue!!!
She threw the limp baby on me, truly she was blue and didn't even move at all. Then she grabbed the baby and raced off with the others that finally arrived.... All empty handed angry angry
I told my husband to go after them but he chose to stay by my side cos I was hysterical. I kept screaming Akorede... Like I think the whole hospital knew my daughter's name.
Akorede!
Akorede!!
You shall not die.
You have a long healthy life ahead of you.
Your siblings are waiting for you.
I have beautiful things waiting for you. Dresses and gifts..... Plans and Dreams.
I was praying and crying and my husband was trying to calm me down because of my BP. Then I began to shiver and gasp and he had to rush out. He came back with another nurse and told me she was okay.
She pulled the placenta out, showed it to me grin and then the bleeding began.
I was given something to stop the bleeding and yet it didn't. I could feel the blood pouring and pouring..... I remembered when I was lax with my ferrous and a young Dr advised that of all the drugs, I should be most serious with the ferrous for my own sake. That bleeding is the number one thing you never budget for in a normal delivery and most women have passed away from it.
She gave me more of the drugs and the bleeding abated. The pressed my tummy and huge clots of blood fell out and she began to suture me. While suturing she noticed some cysts in my vulva and had to call the Dr to drain and investigate it. Hmmmmmm
Never had any infection in pregnancy ó.
Finally, sabutamol came. I declined and asked them to measure my BP first, it has fallen to 150/110 so I told them no. Abeg don't make me hypotensive join. angry

At a point, the nurse was like "just keep quiet for one minute!" your voice is in our head and we're not thinking right..... Ejoor... We're talking about my life and that of my child here. A dent in your career is a snuff in my life. No room for mistakes abeg.
I was sutures but my pelvis was on fire due to the fact that she pulled Akorede out roughly and I was feeling dizzy from the bleeding.
Akorede was brought to me like 3 hours later.
It was love at first sight.
I mean I have 2 kids I love to the moon and back.
How is it possible to have so much love for this stranger .....
I was under watch all through the day cos I was still bleeding heavily. Each time I stood up, I would flood the floors. I kept getting more and more pitocin which meant more contractions and pain.

The bleeding later stopped and I was discharged the next day.
My pelvis is still on fire and I'm limping from the aches.

I would say my labour went faster than expected.
Got to the hospital 4am and had my baby 6am. All the people we were gisting the previous night were all shouting..... Even my in-laws were surprised that I had given birth even before they knew I was in labour.
But what my eyes saw in those 2 short hours....
We later saw all the needle marks on her thighs where they tried to resuscitate her.

I never ate anything to speed labour. I was tempted to use EPO but because I read it is a blood thinner, I stayed away once I was aware I could have bleeding issues.
I ate dates to soften my cervix. I didn't binge on it. Just ate it casually.
I ate pineapples like 2 weeks earlier but all I got was bad cramps. The pineapple I ate was just bleh and like 1/8th. Very small but it was enough to strengthen the contractions because baby was ready to come.
I wanted to do a membrane sweep on Friday so baby could come on a weekend but decided against it cos I wanted her to come much closer to Muna's birthday on 25th grin.
Adele's mom Kelizosuy was even begging me to give Adele birthday mate and I was doing shakára that I don't want Monday baby cheesy cheesy I didn't know Akorede had plans.

PS: after birth if you notice swollen armpits, don't be alarmed they're actually milk ducts. Mine are as big as an egg and painful AF.
All you need to do is make sure your baby empties the breast or pump it out, then use a hot towel to compress.

BS! BS!! BS!!!

I want to thank God for a successful pregnancy journey. had no Ms, only hip bone pain from 7months to due date and also experienced serious Braxton Hicks in this pregnancy.

on the 28th of Sept. went for my weekly antenatal checkup, I was checked and observed to be 2cm but no contraction. The Dr decided to sweep my membrane based on our last discussion. The following day noticed so much mucus plug mixed with blood, this discharge continued till 3rd of Oct.

On the 1st of Oct which was my Dad's birthday, while preparing for his birthday celebration I was busy with the restroom (was having running stomach), I stool for like 6times that day. the stooling continued the following day with mucus plug and whitish discharge but no contraction yet just Braxton Hicks

On the 3rd of Oct I woke up at 12midnight and was urinating every 15 to 30min, I was suspecting it might be my amniotic fluid but decided to monitor till morning. in the morning I decided to wash all the dirty clothes and prepared breakfast, at about 12noon my water broke properly. We left the house by 2pm and got to the hospital at 4pm due to Lagos traffic, I was checked and confirmed to be 4cm, was having very mild contractions.

I was taken to the labor room and was augmented, dat was wen real labor started. the exercise lasted for 3hr.30min, got to 10cm and was asked to push. I pushed tiya but baby was not coming out, I was given episotomy, I tried pushing again dat was wen d nurse noticed cord around my baby's neck. I was asked to stop pushing and the cord was cut after which she came out on her own without me pushing sef. Due to the cord she came out weak but they were able to make her cry very well.

Finally I will be referred to as a mother after 3yrs of pains and tears. My fifth pregnancy and second delivery survived, King of Glory thank you.
To as many dat might have experience a loss in the past either miscarriage or infant death, pls don't give up it's not over. weeping may endure for the night but joy will certainly come in the morning.

[quote author=zaynie post=72197903]Part 2.
