Double standard is our problem here. Anything foreign is good anything local is bad. Which way my people?

Have you ever seen anyone put blood on their door apart from reading it in the Bible so where is the double standard.
Re: Facebook User Lashes Out At People Who Condemn Rites Done By Ooni's Queen by peteruuu(m): 7:05am On Oct 20, 2018
He lacks understanding. The BIBLE said in the book of Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge"
How would a mortal man compare the instructions of God given to the Israelites in Egypt, to apply the Blood on their doorposts in other for death to pass them by, TO a marriage traditional rights done by idolaters.
You can never compare!. The applied blood on their door posts then was as a sign of "THE TOKEN". The sign of that TOKEN today is TGE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST IN OUR SOUL. ANYTHING FROM THAT IS DEATH!.
PS: (Read Exodus 12:1-end.). Pay attention to verses 13 & 14. God bless you.
They either repent or perish! They cannot escape the judgements of God, except they repent.
May God be merciful unto us and be our guide. Amen.

Peace

You agree with nonsense.

Nobody is saying anything foreign is good over local stuff. What we are simply saying is that her believe in that foreign religion totally goes against her participating in the local one.

You can't mix both.

Well this is true.
Christians love blood so much. Yes.
But it is the blood of Jesus and not the blood from an innocent skull.

Well; unless she is walking on the blood of Jesus, this is fetish and no true Christian does this.

The Bible states that we are no more under the law meaning that traditional rites should not be observed by Christians.

Let the traditionalists do their thing...but don't try to convince us that this prophetess is not a daughter of Baal.

You dey answer that mumu FB poster. They like making rubbish comparison.

Wrong illustration.

The passover was only celebrated once with blood of animals according to biblical records, and that was in the old testament. Before the coming of Christ!

All I want to say is it is wrong for a Christian to observe a traditional rite(s). The one claimed to be a prophetess does not mean they are Christian.

Well the truth is most have elevated foreign ideas and doctrine above local ones. Including this Christian prophetess. She did not call herself Olokun prophetess.
So you may be criticised based on what you proclaim if seen doing the opposite.

Maybe people should first become comfortable with the fact all religions have elements of the local culture in which they evolved. Including the ones we have so enthusiastically borrowed.

I guess soon enough we will ourselves get tired of the hypocrisy, inferiority complex and brainwash. Then we will realise that doing traditional rites does not automatically mean evil/devil or fetish.

So where is her faith?

Why didnt she insist on a Christian marriage ritual?

There s always a tussle between the forces of darkness and light.

As far as I'm concerned, the forces of darkness prevailed in this union.

It's high time we begin to modernise some of the very old, archaic and harmful rituals and practices.

Don't we know why medical professionals wear gloves. Because disease can be transmitted via body fluids like blood, swear, urine, etc. That matching on animal blood is not only gross, it's medically unadvisable.

Plus, consider what animal rights groups all over the world would be thinking.

Simply said - this is a low point. A very low one indeed.

WHAT will tourists want to see in this mess?
Re: Facebook User Lashes Out At People Who Condemn Rites Done By Ooni's Queen by Nobody: 7:26am On Oct 20, 2018
Let's tell ourselves the truth, you can't serve God and do fetish things. The only blood that was shed and should be is that of Jesus. Any other blood shedding in the guise of culture isn't accepted.

But I am more concerned with why an Oni will marry a 25-year old.
A typical 25-year old Nigerian girl isn't marriage-ready as most of them are still obsessed with Wizkid and what instagram filter to use.
I disagree with you, before the age of 25 ,she already as her church, she as achieved what most men is in their thirties are still pursuing, she already built a mansion for her mum and bought her mum a car and her mum as an official driver, she is not like most girls please and not all girls in that age group fantasize about wizkid and co...I would agree if you had said girls in early twenties not mid twenties...

black man mentality, they don't even know that IFA religion is older than Islam and Christianity the problem we had, was it was not written in books only passed orally, I appreciate the Yoruba people presently putting it in books. I agree some part of a culture is bad but not all can be bad it is the same people that enslaved them and don't want anything with blacks despite being the labour force to build the new world. Appreciate our things our culture language traditions that is when the black world will be free at last and not think himself of a lesser man.

I'm more concerned about the fact that this was made public. I mean, are phones & picture taking allowed in this kind of ceremony? Is it not supposed to be private and highly secretive? Who took the shot, & worse still, uploaded online knowing the backlash it will receive?

So annoying especially when I see men partaking in such rubbish. The men are our protectors , preservers of our culture hence u are held at high esteem, but as u have decided to be squeezing ur balls into skinny jeans and trying to white wash our culture to fit in with ur colonial masters, be rest assured that u have lost ur crown and ur respect and the women will come and rule over you. It’s happening already.
