HELP!!!!
A first time mom. last period was 27/5/2018. I registered in a private hospital. two weeks ago hubby and I decided to register in FMC. part of the routine check up was a pelvic scan. did it yesterday and a case of severe oligohydramnios (insufficient ammonic fluid) was seen. saw d test result today. fetus is still alive with strong heart beat. although I av a large fibroid. the senior Doc said. after couple of test the fetus might b dead. so case of evacuation at 17 weeks. rushed back to my private hospital, the gyn checked said the fetus activities are minimal. but very alive. liquor low, not growing as expected. am to b placed on bed rest cos the foetus is not getting snow nutrition. until the fluid is back to normal. am scared.....as anyone heard of this. need prayers and advice Pls.

It takes your faith to keep this baby. Believe me.
I have a friend whose water broke since 17weeks,she is 28weeks now and still going. Doctors will say all sort, but my dear, keep your eyes on God. Your baby will make it.
Another thing that helped this friend of mine rebuild her water level was coconut water, that should be your best friend now. It takes faith to overcome. I pray you do.

Thank you for the roll call capo. I no longer have those severe hunger pangs and I don't throw up when I am hungry. Excess saliva has been dealing with me for two weeks now but it's also reducing. In all its been great so far compared to my first where I went from 60kg - 45kg in three months and people were wondering what terrible illness I might have contacted.
Lastly I am still breastfeeding my 11month old. . I don't know how to stop?

Part 2.

So there I was, in the Drs office, questioning her every move, asking what her plan was. She looked to me like she was overwhelmed. She needed time to think and plan but I had no time. The contractions weren't letting up and I was beginning to see red. The nurse told the Dr that I should be moved from the observation room to the delivery room in case baby came earlier.
I got to the hospital around 4.13am ó. By this time it wá slime 5.15am. Husby practically towed me upstairs cos each step I took was painful.
Got to the delivery room, they were rushing to set things up, Dr was confused, normal saline drip or dextrose sugar? I could have diabetes and my BP was high. The nurses advised her to go with dextrose since my BP was still very very high and rising. The consultant called and asked her to give add salbutamol to the drip. The contractions were so close that by then I didn't have any patience again, they broke my water and asked me to push with the next 2 contractions cos I was already at 10cm. So fast right . In less than 2 hours, the joys of being a 3TM.
I was told my cervix was fully effaced and very soft and I could get away with no tear if I pushed right but by then I was very weak and thirsty. I pushed with all my might (I pushed just twice for Múná ó) several times but nothing. I tried all means and the contractions stopped again. Are you kidding me?!
The nurse gave me a cut and brought the head out forcefully, she kept yelling.... I need help here! The others had rushed out to do one thing or the other.
One nurse went to attend to another woman in labour.
Dr was looking for my OGTT result.
The other Dr was getting my Salbutamol
Another nurse went for one thing one thing.
It was just this nurse, my husband and I.
As she was shouting I need help, me ṣef was shouting Help!!!! in a louder voice.... Abeg who wan die?
When we didn't see anyone, she instructed my husband on what to do and told me.... Your baby's head is blue. I need you to push with all your might.
Blue? That wasn't part of the plan. Not for me. Not for Akorede.
I pushed and pushed and nothing. She legit expanded my vagigi with her hands and brought Akorede's shoulders out. She kept screaming... Cord around the neck! Baby is blue!!!
She threw the limp baby on me, truly she was blue and didn't even move at all. Then she grabbed the baby and raced off with the others that finally arrived.... All empty handed
I told my husband to go after them but he chose to stay by my side cos I was hysterical. I kept screaming Akorede... Like I think the whole hospital knew my daughter's name.

Akorede!!
You shall not die.

I have beautiful things waiting for you. Dresses and gifts..... Plans and Dreams.
I was praying and crying and my husband was trying to calm me down because of my BP. Then I began to shiver and gasp and he had to rush out. He came back with another nurse and told me she was okay.
She pulled the placenta out, showed it to me and then the bleeding began.
I was given something to stop the bleeding and yet it didn't. I could feel the blood pouring and pouring..... I remembered when I was lax with my ferrous and a young Dr advised that of all the drugs, I should be most serious with the ferrous for my own sake. That bleeding is the number one thing you never budget for in a normal delivery and most women have passed away from it.
She gave me more of the drugs and the bleeding abated. The pressed my tummy and huge clots of blood fell out and she began to suture me. While suturing she noticed some cysts in my vulva and had to call the Dr to drain and investigate it. Hmmmmmm
Never had any infection in pregnancy ó.
Finally, sabutamol came. I declined and asked them to measure my BP first, it has fallen to 150/110 so I told them no. Abeg don't make me hypotensive join.

At a point, the nurse was like "just keep quiet for one minute!" your voice is in our head and we're not thinking right..... Ejoor... We're talking about my life and that of my child here. A dent in your career is a snuff in my life. No room for mistakes abeg.
I was sutures but my pelvis was on fire due to the fact that she pulled Akorede out roughly and I was feeling dizzy from the bleeding.
Akorede was brought to me like 3 hours later.
It was love at first sight.
I mean I have 2 kids I love to the moon and back.
How is it possible to have so much love for this stranger .....
I was under watch all through the day cos I was still bleeding heavily. Each time I stood up, I would flood the floors. I kept getting more and more pitocin which meant more contractions and pain.

The bleeding later stopped and I was discharged the next day.
My pelvis is still on fire and I'm limping from the aches.


I would say my labour went faster than expected.
Got to the hospital 4am and had my baby 6am. All the people we were gisting the previous night were all shouting..... Even my in-laws were surprised that I had given birth even before they knew I was in labour.
But what my eyes saw in those 2 short hours....
We later saw all the needle marks on her thighs where they tried to resuscitate her.


I never ate anything to speed labour. I was tempted to use EPO but because I read it is a blood thinner, I stayed away once I was aware I could have bleeding issues.
I ate dates to soften my cervix. I didn't binge on it. Just ate it casually.
I ate pineapples like 2 weeks earlier but all I got was bad cramps. The pineapple I ate was just bleh and like 1/8th. Very small but it was enough to strengthen the contractions because baby was ready to come.
I wanted to do a membrane sweep on Friday so baby could come on a weekend but decided against it cos I wanted her to come much closer to Muna's birthday on 25th .
Adele's mom Kelizosuy was even begging me to give Adele birthday mate and I was doing shakára that I don't want Monday baby I didn't know Akorede had plans.




PS: after birth if you notice swollen armpits, don't be alarmed they're actually milk ducts. Mine are as big as an egg and painful AF.
All you need to do is make sure your baby empties the breast or pump it out, then use a hot towel to compress.

Just continue feeding him. And also wake him up at intervals to eat esp when he has slept for long. My baby was 2.95kg at birth and on NAN And bm and by 6wks he was almost 5kg and continued that way progressively. So just perserve, he'll add weight

2. There's this tightening feeling I have that starts from my lower pelvic area either around the anal or vaginally area n moves up.. Like a painful cramp n it causes my breath to be short so I start panting, my head aching and heartbeat increases and my head becomes hot n sweat starts coming out.... It lasts a few seconds bfr it wears out... Ive talked to my doc, said it doesn't sound familiar... I want to know if anyone has experienced such before... It's become more frequent in the past few days....

For the first question I think your doctor should be in better position to tell you what to do.

Second question what you are feeling to me should be practice contraction since it's not regular yet.You may even fall into Labour before Tuesday.

Mine poo up to 5 times daily. I became worried till a nurse and another mother told me it's normal with some children to poo frequently while others finds it difficult to.

I'll advise you take more fruit especially oranges.

Check what facilities they have to cater for a jaundiced newborn, take a look at their NICU, blood bank etc. We won't need it by God's grace but we need all the reassurance we can get.
I'm sure bags are packed. Don't forget to get a wrapper as that would be most comfortable the first few days.
Have you been cleaning your nipps? Scrub those dark and crusty stuff off it, we don't want baby ingesting it.
I'm sure you have all downloaded the contraction timer app.

Those are braxton Hicks contractions. It sounds similar to the way mine happens too. It doesn't feel the same way for every woman. Your body is preparing for the main thing. You may fall into labour before Tuesday sef.

So far to the glory of God I dey Kempe no shaking, no skin pain, no ms,(though I wish the ms will do me small make I get the feeling . when other mamas dey talk abt ms I go just dey look and be wondering if everything dey alright with my babies. Yes, I'm praying for twins). All my fitted gowns are tight on me. My jeans don't close anymore . I don't dey do longer throat things that I don't consider before, I will be passing once I sight it next my mind go start telling me how fine looking and appetising it is. Before I can stop myself I don buy the thing.

To ma may teamies that ms is dealing with, sorry darlings, it will soon be a thing of the past as we are about to cat walk into 2 trimester soon.

I've been on absolute bed rest since Wednesday (the doctor warned me not to do any chores). I was given medications and progesterone injection as well. I take d injection every 3days and I still have more shots to take.I did a scan immediately and I started shedding tears of joy when my LO was playing all through d scan. He was rolling, turning, putting his hands and legs up and the fetal heartbeat was good. I was so happy.

The spotting stopped immediately on Wednesday after d first injection shot. This morning, I started spotting again, this time the blood came out with a colourless liquid. I cried and kept asking why all this is happening to me when my baby is 17+ weeks already. I never experienced spotting from d first day I conceived, why now? Why me? I'm in the hospital now and I'll be going for another scan in a reputable lab tomorrow, the doctor referred us to the lab. It seems I'll be on admission too. I know God will be with me and every mama here.
