D34lw4p:

i am on the premium plan with 15gb bandwidth.

Is that on a shared or dedicated pipe? It's just not good for your site to be down this often.
It's the 20th of the month so is it going to be down for another 10-11 days! You may need a new host or work something out for a vps.

I've had terrible experiences with web hosting companies in Nigeria. I wrote a blog post about a reliable US based alternative for Nigerians, especially for those people having a budget constraint: http://eiwebdesigns.com/wp/2016/11/28/mochahost-reliable-web-hosting-nigeria/

Guys thanks so much for this thread and your comments.

I just heard about whogohost and they are so cheap, so I decided to search for customer reviews.

Wow!!! I am amazed at their incompetency. Data loss is unacceptable but then, this is Nija, everything goes. I feel for those that lost their data.

I shall stick to HostGator.com

Whogohost Web Hosting and Domain Review

Getting a reliable Web Hosting Company in Nigeria can be very hard for some people who don’t know much about web hosting and how it works.

They might prefer going for an international Web Hosting Providers for their Web Hosting Plans but most times, they won’t be able to get it due to the kind of debit card issued by the banks in the country.

Hello,
What really happened to your blog? Was it an exploitation or you were affected by an upgrade from your hosting company?

akintayo1:

You said right, I feel very sad for WhoGohost too. In the past, I have recommended more than 20 clients to host with WhoGohost, but base on my "personal experience" with their hosting services at the moment, I have no choice than move to a better host and stop recommending WhoGoHost as one good idea web hosting company.

At the moment, I'm just praying to God and hoping WhoGoHost can get my blog back on track working 100% with all the files intact. Just to migrate a site from one host to another, WhoGohost engineers just destroy my blog to the extent that I even lost the control of the blog.

The funny thing is, it has taking 2 consecutive months now working on resolving these problems, yet no solution has been reached.

It is a very sad experience I can't just forget in a hurry.

The way things are going with the way their engineers are handling my blog issues, I can see myself starting all over from scratch with a blog I have invested 4 years of work in.

I like patronizing our own (Naija made), but like everyone else, this is my business and WhoGohost are into business too. No one opens up his business to run at loss.

WhoGoHost is making me running at a very high rate of loss at the moment so I have run away from them.

Well, you might find yourself in a situation where you need to send out seasonal text messages to your friends and loved ones or send out an advertising message to look maturity and to convinced an audience for your business, a political text message to your constituents or a devotional text message to your church members.
Of course you can send individually using your phone, then you say to yourself there must be a better way. This is where a freesmsplan software comes in.

TO GET STARTED

,you need
1. Your phone numbers typed out with each number on a separate line or separated by comma.
2. Your text message
3. AND SENDER ID OF YOUR CHOICE .

We are going to be demonstrating this process on our website, should be similar for other bulk sms service providers.
Step 1
Sign up for a Click fresmsmsplan.com <a href="http://www.freesmsplan.com "> here </a> to go to account on

1. This should already be set to your current country. /www.freesmsplan.com freesmsplan.com to knows what country code to prefix to your number when you enter 0810000 or 0816411. For Nigeria it converts this number to 234810000.

2. Sender: This is the Sender Id that shows up on the recipients phone.
3. To Numbers: Enter your recipients phone numbers here. Each number should be on a separate line or separated by comma. You can also get our GSM Database for a list of Nigerian based GSM numbers. Also see How to Send Customized SMS )
4. Check ‘Save numbers for future use ‘ and give it a name, if you wish to save your numbers for re use later. To re use these numbers simply click ‘ phonebook ,then click record then click add multiple numbers then create group and paste all numbers you wish to add separate it with comma.then click save

5. Type out your message taking note of the number of characters and parts below. Messages less than 160 characters will be charged 1 unit. Above 160 and depending on the number of parts, charges apply accordingly. Example: 2 part messages are charged 2 units, 3 parts 3 units etc
6. Select ‘send ‘ to display your sms directly on the recipients screen.inbox

7. Make sure you continued click send until it successful send your units will deducted

8. Select an appropriate option, Send Now
(Sends your messages instantly), Preview & Send (Allows you to preview your messages, see the total cost, send to only a particular network etc), Draft (Just saves your message to the drafts folder),
Schedule (To freesmsplan automatically send your message at a future time)
9. Then click the ‘Send’ Button.
And that’s it…Congratulations!!! You’ve just sent your first sms.
NB: ‘Congratulations’ is regarded as a spam word by some network operators meaning an SMS containing spam words like Congratulations, MTN, Bank Names as Sender Id, Promo etc may not deliver. Also note that GLO will not deliver messages containing GSM numbers in them. For GLO you could try separating the numbers like so 0810000

Please dont ever use whogohost. If you can afford it, use a foreign host.

I was never interested in local hosting company or domain registrar. I prefer my namecheap jeje

WhoGoHost is one of the leading web hosting providers in Nigeria. You’ll find out more in this WhoGoHost Review. They have a robust range of web services from website hosting to domain registration at affordable prices packaged with an efficient support team and a seamless payment process.

Their track record has been wonderful powering so many big Nigerian brands like GTBank, OAU. They offer even more variety of services like some global hosting companies like NameCheap, BlueHost, and GoDaddy.

Enough of the hype already, let’s get down to why I choose WhoGoHost as a leading and Best Nigerian Hosting Provider for your website.

You must be mad. angry

Anyone still thinking of using them just have it in mind that your site is as good as gone.
One would think they have learnt from their mistakes but no here we are again with countless complains on webmasters section.

Unfortunately my friend who thought they were cheap used them and now his site is gone, same with his friends too.

How they are still in business is beyond me.
As a matter of fact this thread should be made sticky at the top of this section.

Try not to use nulled themes. And install wordfence if youre using wordpress. Talk to them. They can resolve the phishing issue.

ITbomb:
Bottom line

If you are an upcoming blogger (ie your blog is not making above N50k a month), get a domain name and stay with Blogger otherwise get a Premium account with a good host company.

All stories about Google preferring WordPress over Blogger is a big lie, all Google wants is a good content.
To make this good content available for Google bots to crawl is your full time job.

WordPress might make the work easier with plug-ins but if you can understand meta tags usage, search console and backlinks, you can outrank any WordPress blog easily
Are you referring to the free ?
