deriod:May be you should save your tears until you learn that no matter what the state of the economy is, poor people will still be in our midst. From USA to Canada to UK, there are poor people and homeless. No one is saying that this is the best that Nigeria youth and graduates deserve but what people are saying is that it shouldn't be coming from PDP members and supporters. I'm sure you got it now. I'm angry too but PDP folks should fvck off |

dokie:So giving them skill sets and setting them up for improvement is not empowerment? The guu you quoted just told you how he got empowered by Npower and you are busy still saying its a welfare program. Even the name says Npower (EMPOWER) and you are still typing offpoint |

Airforce01:Why are you guys brain drain. All of us can not be working in CBN, NNPC or FIRS. I'm 100 percent sure if same good life fell at your side, you will make maximum use of it and put your children and relatives in lucrative places. If the govt didn't do this little same you and your ilks will be running mouth like tap water that they didn't do anything for the unemployed. A social programme like this should be well applauded by any reasonable human being. The work does not tie them down, still afford them time to do other things as complement. This is only programme in Nigeria with less favouritism and wide spread nationalism but you guys want to downplay it on the altar of politics. |

Butterflyleo:Npower may be a welfare program to some people who don't know what they are doing. I do advise the graduates around me to continue sacrificing and save as much as they could during this program so that they can start something with it in addition to what they are getting from the scheme. My brother's wife added her first payment of 60k to her trade. My female friend, now married has started selling detergents in bulk, not even in pieces. She's is still combining Npower teaching job with previous teaching job in a private school. I have two friends who are using their Npower stipends to repay the loans they obtained from the cooperative associations. The loans was invested, remember. There is this couple, husband and wife, I helped them applied for the scheme and they were selected. These are the couple who couldn't get jobs for many years. Husband is into peasant farming while the wife is into teaching job in a private school. Npower has given them the platform to have savings to start something. |

herlonso:First of all, Dangote group employs about 30,000 people in Nigeria, the difference is that all his companies are under a group, (subsidiaries). Atiku employs about 50,000 direct and indirect staffs. Intel alone has over 25,000 employees, AUN Yola has around 2,500 employees which includes full time lecturers, part time, non teaching staffs and consultants. GOTEL TV and RADIO has about 1,000 employees, Protea HOTELS Abj, Yola, PHarcourt, Lagos has about 2000 employees, Atiku farms has about 1,500 employees including middlemen and retail channels, his care foundation has more than 5,000 staffs spread across the states of the federation, his beverage company has less than a thousand, his political group (PDM) has an estimated 10,000 members across the federation who look up to him for benefits and favor, his chicken cottage company just employed 350 direct employees, the indirect employees collaborates with his farm workers. All this and many more to mention, is just an estimate, some might be higher, some lower. All this companies he has doesn't have a parent company like Dangote, hence are spread across various sectors. Another difference is Dangote is the largest Nigerian employer of labour in Africa, Atiku is the largest private employer of labour in Nigeria |

Let them talk for themselves not for all volunteers. Imagine the height of mediocrity. How do you expect a family man with financial responsibilities to live on income of 30k for a two year temporal job in this harsh economy of buhari. Which is below the proposed minimum wage. |
