During GEJ regime, the country has the best GDP in Africa, and was one of the top 20 fastest growing economies in the world. Yes, there were little problems at the tail end of GEJ regime, but we still had things quite better. Dollar was N220 as at April 2015, petrol was still N87, and foodstuffs was still fairly cheap. You talking about the global oil fall, was NIGERIA the only country to experience oil fall? Other oil nations didn't experience recession, 2. The 6 months buhari took to appoint his cabinets crashed the economy, as no one was managing the fiscal policies, at the same time he was interfering with the monetary policy and foreign exchange policies of the CBN. 3. Foreign investors distanced themselves from Nigeria, and the ones who were in Nigeria liquidated their investment and left, this was due to interference and lack of direction of the buhari first year in governance. Example, In a day, the Nigerian Stock Exchange lost almost a trillion Naira in shares in 2016 (Google is your friend). 4. What even put the nail on the coffin is the attempt to ban basic imported products into NIGERIA, and not allocating dollars to product manufacturers excluding Dangote. This made foodstuffs very expensive, because the few people that imported these raw materials/goods did so at an exorbitant price, and due to lack of competition in the import market fixed retail price at a higher level which we still suffering till this moment. 5. Appointing an accountant to manage the economy is the biggest blunder, an Economy as big as Nigeria is meant to be managed by an Economist. ItsMeAboki:
The many youths who directly benefited from the N-power programme are already out there heaping praises on the success of the scheme; only people like you who cannot see any good in it and especially against this govt remain still in denial.
The seeds of the recession were already sown during Jonathan's era, after unprecedented looting (stealing is not corruption) and wasteful mismanagement, when the govt had access to the highest ever oil revenue but recklessly squandered it without saving against a rainy day.
The global fail in oil prices at the onset of this regime, led to a sharp decline in revenue and the recession, which in turn caused the loss of jobs - not necessarily the undisclosed inconsistency you mentioned.
This govt achieved a miracle to take us out of recession in less than two years - a feat unheard of before; because no country had ever come out of recession in the record time which Nigeria did under the Buhari Administration - if in doubt go ask the Venezuelans whose economy is also dependant on oil revenue.

When you leave in a mono economy what happened to Nigeria through GEJ is expected. GEJ bastardized our economy by dollarizing it as it were so the slightest drop in our area of dependency would cause an equal drop in our currency value due to over dependence on the dollar. Our economy under PDP and GEJ was a false economy. It was a farce which got exposed for the farce it was by the global drops in crude oil prices. If indeed our economy was awesome under GEJ then we would not have felt the recession the way we did. GEJ was simply dressing up a skeleton and passing it off as healthy. All you are talking about up there are all side effects of a recessed economy occasioned by years of gross mismanagement and resource drainage by incompetent and thieving people in PDP 1 Like

let me enlighten you on N-POWER This is a program created to reduce unemployment by helping them to create jobs and engaging them in activities while unemployed, it is divided into three classes -The N-Power teacher corps -The N-power knowledge -The N-Power build The N-Power teacher corpsThis is a voluntary program where 500000 unemployed graduates would be trained and engaged, they would then get computing devices each to contain information for their own specific program under this program.these engaged graduates will provide teaching,instructional and advisory solutions in four units, under it we have (1)N-power teach: individual under this unit will serve as assistant teachers in primary and secondary schools ,they will also help take education to remote/marginalized areas. (2)N-power health: this set will be trained to serve as public health assistants.also, they will be trained by professionals to provide basic health diagnostic services in their deployed area. (3)N-power community education: they will be deployed to communities to serve as instructors in such areas as adult educators and civil educators. He started small with that little 30k stipend, he has upgraded now. He did a short course at Fed Univ of Agric Abeokuta on piggery, grass cutter, and Snail farming. He has a big farm now. He's currently being assisted by Bank of Industry with the purchase of machines to produce their food. I'm also thinking of starting small in my father's compound. How will sane individuals discredit a programme that has turned out to be transparent and one in which we have thousands of beneficiaries benefiting from the positive flow the programme brings.
