There should be no rattling when you listen to the engine at idle. Check also for oil leaks. |

I distinctly remember someone arguing that there was a consistent way some time ago. Aaaanywho... short of being present for compression testing and/or rebuilding it yourself, it's down to checking: 1 spark plugs (if present) and engine cap for oil and/or deposits 2 the oil (both new oil and discolored or dirty oil can tell you something) 3 trying to turn the Crankshaft manually, and 4 hoping for the best.... 1 Like 1 Share |
