this is why this country is backward and never moving forward for any progress

imagine this brilliant girl made this feat in 2016...BUT..this is 2018!..nobody heard anything about her...

meanwhile on daily basis...you hear the hypes on how fayose abused buhari....or how Dino melaye or saraki were celebrating with their children..

shame to most of the journalists of this generation....the talent of this girl almost died like that...BUT...GOD refused!

only GOD knows how many such talents were discovered but were buried or allowed to rotten away here in 9ja...shame! of a nation!

Dig further into her background, you might discover that she is from a very poor family

May God continue to make her a source of blessing both to her family and her country

Congrats

Lol, your point makes me laugh. It's possible sha, but you might also discover that she is NOT from a poor family.

Many children from poor families irritate me these days. Why? For the simple reason that despite coming from poor homes, they have decided to go with the crowd, waste their lives and be unambitious.

The day I will see a truly poor child with exceptional academic feat, I will give that child a full scholarship and afterward take him or her to Oxford for any level of education...But the problem be say dem scarce, very scarce..The ones we mostly see are children from middle class or well off families...And the thing dey vex me why these kids from poor homes can't push to be exceptional.

Anyway, this has been my experience..You might discover that she is NOT from a poor home, as I said before. Unless given scholarship, children from poor homes can't afford secondary schools where they pay 200K+ per year.

If you're from poor home reading this, please take your education seriously, don't dull yourself, push and strive to be exceptional. There are people like me, or infinitely ahead of me, looking to bright children from poor homes to bless. I'm tired of seeing heroics coming mostly from non-poor children. Poor children, wake up, forget about iphone 30, it will be rubbish to you. Just focus on your book, blast exceptionally...Things will come to you. Believe me. I was poor too.

Na lie, aunty. This types don't write Jamb "five times". I used to think Jamb was hard until my students in those days and some younger ones smashed it anyhow. Either the standards of JAMB have fallen or we were actually average students thinking we were good students when we wrote JAMB some decades ago.

I like to think children these days are smarter. But this is open to debate. I was telling a unilag associate professor the other day, he is my friend..I told him, sir, these students are blasting 5/5..He said oh, the standards have fallen, looool. It's painful to accept that maybe, just maybe, they were not as good in those days when they were at the university..This is a plausible possibility.

This is the kind of students government should take over their academic sponsorship and make sure she lacks nothing even cloths

If government starts that, most people will be forced to be focused in their academic

It going to be a sort of motivation to them

I agree with the motivation you are talking about, but it doesn't have to be government alone..Alone government can help by providing scholarships.

Let me tell you what I do to my sisters'/brothers' children and extended family members

1. Give them a target of 9A1 in Waec/GCE/NECO
2. Give them a target of 300 and above in Jamb
3. Get them all the material they need to achieve 1 and 2. I mean, all. Including private home teachers for nearly each subject. These teachers are master;s degree holders themselves. I.e. master's degree holder in biology will come home and teach the student biology, etc

If they meet both targets

1. They choose anywhere in the world they want to go for holiday
2. They choose any reasonable gift they want
3. The teachers that made the success happen get a bonus

This way, the teachers are super motivated, the students are super motivated and the spirit is high.

The result: Even if the students don't meet these outstandingly high targets, i have come to realize that they still do very well and get results that everyone can be proud of.

In this life, motivation is key. I know some of us have financial constraints, but there are always different creative ways of motivating people...Motivation is key!

Does that mean rich people don't breed much of intelligently competent children? You'd be shocked at at this rich folks intelligence if u get to actually speak with most.... Most especially those ones that have academicians as there parents....

^^ I agree with you and have voiced my disagreement with anyone attributing brilliance to only poor man pikin.

It pains me to say that most of the brilliant youngsters that I have known (including this outstanding girl answering these questions), they are often from middle class or rich families. It pains me that the poor ones that should be representing seriously well, many of them just get lazy. E dey vex me.

Some of us are actively scouting for poor kids that are doing very well in their academics, e be like we dey find gold inside sea.

You made a point

Due to the harsh economy, only government can bring out money to do so without feeling the cost

The target you gave your
sisters /brothers children are in order and you made available teachers for them

Those teachers will be paid

The promise you made for them must be fulfilled if they meet up your target

Now tell me, if you don't have the financial resources, you won't even think of it

Every thing boils Down to availability of funds

The rich sorts themselves out with the money they have

While the poor looks up to such help

God will provide for our children

Bro, normally I won't quote you, but this is to say you deeply disappointed me. I mean deeply.

How can you really stoop this low? I don't believe you're like this in real life.

Are you saying great achievements are a one dimensional matter? For someone to be great, he/she must do the same, the same thing that other great people did?

I remember being wowed and so proud of those girls that did Nigeria proud in the science competition in the US. Now, we we another truly electric brain girl who has impressed very seriously in a mathematics competition. We're praising her hard work, talents and effort, you are here comparing this little math genius to other sets of genius and saying why didn't one set belong to another.. Very sad.

One thing is sure..There is no way a tribalist can survive in any of my companies. I will actively scout for tribalist and actively fire them. Tribalist cause divisions. I thought that scourge will die with our parents generation, but no, our parents did a very bad job of passing it down to many of their children. Sadly, many of the children unwisely accepted it from their parents. Very sadly indeed. I shame for all tribalist.

Anyway, this girl's performance is a genius performance. I have taught in Nigeria and around the world. I will put this girl in the top 7% of the best math students I have come across globally!!!

Those group of girls that made us proud in America, I'm very proud of them. If they were from poor homes, I for don contact dem teytey to discuss possible scholarships. But sadly, they have middle class or well off parents, judging by the secondary school they attended or are attending.

We have young brains in that Nigeria, truly gifted brains. One of the reasons I won't mind becoming a millionaire or billionaire is to unlock the potentials of young and hard working or gifted/talented people. With just 1 million dollars, I know wetin I fit do for young people
