She took to her Instagram page to post a picture from the ceremony.

You know how we Africans like to bastardise things. Honoris causa degrees were never intended to be used as prefixes to indicate any title. But as suffixes.

It is like being granted a knighthood or damehood by the Queen of England but you are not a British or Commonwealth citizen. Therefore you cannot use the title 'Sir' or 'Dame' before your name. So your suffix would be KBE, KCMG, DBE etc. Depending on the type of knighthood and gender.

Unless you later become a British or Commonwealth citizen. In which case you can start using sir or dame prefix. Or you also have such an honor from another country or authority that allows such sir or dame prefix.

So, because she got a honorary doctorate, she thinks she is entitled to the title of "Doctor"?

I don't know why we like bastardizing values in this country. There are many out there striving and doing researches to get their doctorates. Someone gets all these waivered and thinks she can enjoy the honor entitled to academic doctorates.

They do not even call them Dr. Try that in saner lands, even with a honorary doctorate, you will be called out.
That title is for those with a terminal degree of a PhD and medical doctors.

All these degrees and yet she still had to hustle in big brother. Sometimes all these titles get one is respect and recognition unfortunately respect and recognition don't really put food on the table
