I would say the overall better car is corolla. There is really nothing to compare in both though the yaris is a smaller more fuel efficient corolla to me with some premium/luxury (I don't know the exact word to describe it) removed.

The 2015 is obviously better than the 2011. besides the 2015 would not require part change due to its like new body parts ceteris baribus though.

The corolla is a robber magnet ensure you do necessary protection and also a VIN check better stay away from flooded vehicle and extremely accidented vehicle. They give headache throughout their life time.

Also The S signature (sports) is a body kit nomenclature not performance oriented don't be forming 007 on the streets of nigeria you will not die young ooo grin

Knowing the history of a used car or a tokunbo car before you decide to buy one can save you a lot of money down the road

Run a vin check and verify critical facts you need to buy a used car with confidence. check the title status, previous odometer readings, flood, airbag deployment, stolen, hail, biohazard and more

4cylinder received new 19 inch restyled alloy wheel

The audio system was revamped to allow wireless connectivity to devices and Internet connectivity for streaming. That's the major difference.

To put it in perspective, Honda is at number 15 while Toyota is at number 2.

07 Corolla wins but in Nigeria the corolla is prone to theft and vandalism.

Personally if but cars are toks & at the same price, I will take the 08 Elentra

The immobiliser on 05 - 08 corolla just made it more difficult to steal but where there's a will there's a way.

It seem you are more inclined towards the corolla.. Just get a comprehensive insurance package with buy back to go with it..

But please test drive both cars before making the final decision. Cheers

I was actually tilting towards the Elantra 08 up until tonight.

It would be my preferred choice if I can get some assurances from car experts as to how good the car is.

This will be my first car. I can't really drive well too

Hahahaha
Just concerned about three things
1. Durability
2. Fuel Economy
3. Ease of Maintenance

Go for the car... I have a few on uber ..very strong cars.. The issue with Nigeria and Nigerians is maintaining cars and infrastructure...
I will advice get a tokunbo from "reputable" seller .. Take a mechanic to check it out ..make sure car has no sludge, no milage tampering, etc ... once all those things checks out ,do your oil change, coolant change etc ...you will enjoy the car

1. Durability - very strong might not be as strong has a corolla.. But if my elantra can last 1year plus on uber ...I think it has pass the durability test.

2. Fuel Economy- If compare to corolla , not much of a big deal. The fuel is very good, usually takes me 4k naira to fill up ..with constant a/c and traffic conditions u won't be disappointed.

3. Ease of Maintenance - looking at the engine alone , it is a mechanic dream ..enough space to fix and service the car ..very easy ,just buy genuine parts and you good to go ..again if my own elantra can survive the curses of uber / taxify.. I think the car is a winner ...people might complain that the gear or transmission are not strong enough... but from my own experience, people use the wrong gear oil or fluid...
