How do you blame Rohr when he benched Onazi at the world cup. That right there shows no shirt is safe. Even captain Musa had his time on the bench

Insults on this forum is really getting out of hand. We should learn to respect people's opinions without attacking their personality. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It is said that a forum where one used to read about upcoming talents and team news with so much intellectual input has now turned to a typical nairaland forum.

What is most painful is to see the regular people who made this forum interesting drag themselves to insulting one another. We have even reduced ourselves to choosing players in our national team and attacking others as if they are not playing for the same team. What happens with this is that we learn little from each other and eventually lose focus.

There was a reason why Sir Joseph started this thread, the SUPER EAGLES! and it's development into another era. Please let us respect one another.

The contention is that I used the word, start. In actual sense and based on the argument I have been making, there should be no comfortable spot for any player whether on the bench or in a starting role UNLESS the player justifies his spot consistently. This should have been instilled prior to the World Cup — that’s a team built with excellence as the watchword. Onazi didn’t deserve to go to the WC in the first place, going by his latest matches before the WC. I reiterate, I no blame am. Na Rohr I blame

Good list.

However, what is that unkown home based player doing on the list? Is it another chop I chop arrangee because I don't think he's the best player in the NPFL.

Anyway, kudos for adding Samuel Chuchwueze on the list. No Jupiter can disagree or complain on top did one because he deserved it. But if I hear phem. grin

However, I am still trying to phantom the speed at which the coach gave Osimhen a call just because he scored 6 goals in the same Belgium Pro league we saw players done better than him in the same Belgium pro league last season.

Is this not bias selection or selective selection of players?

Man no man and agent connection? Na wa

You made a point because awoniyi also did well on the Belgium league

Awoniyi scored 7 goals in over 20 league games in the league last season. Awoniyi has not scored at all this season in the league after 10 games.

Osimhen already has 5 goals in 7 league games.

The invitation might be early for Osimhen but i do not think Awoniyi has done enough so far to force the coach's hand.

Rohr clearly likes Osimhen so it is not surprising that he is getting called up.

I never meant awoniyi should be invited now bro

I am making an example with last season okay, and when awoniyi was scoring those goals he was not even considered

Osimhen has 1 cap during is Wolfsburg stint and he didn't even score a single goal for Wolfsburg then ,so you can see what I am saying ?

Even if awoniyi has osimhen form right now he will never be considered

Even when onyekuru was tearing Belgium apart he was not even invited quickly

Babayaro is the most successful LB from Nigeria in Europe. Played Chelsea and Newcastle and held his own. TT played well in Marseille yes, played for a team battling relegation in the EPL and had his career head downhill with AC milan. I don't know how that is better than Babayaro, the fine boy ladies man.

Tt is better than babayaro, so because person play for Chelsea meaning he is the most successful lb?

Babayaro also played for relegation threatened Newcastle

Is it not the same babayaro that was sacked by la galaxy at the age of 29 ?

Babayaro will be lacing boots at ac Milan

Babayaro was playing for an average Chelsea team

Una think say Chelsea na Man U or Arsenal then ?

Babayaro had serious injury challenges at the end of his career. This is what affected him the most. There was a time, he was out for more than a year.

I think, he was the most technically gifted/skilful left back.

Taiwo was also very talented .

Fair talk

Agree with you

Mind you if Taiwo was constitent in the eagles like Joseph yobo and enyeama he should be boasting of 110 caps by now ,he last played for the eagles 6 years ago and got 54 caps

Go and check the top 20 highest goal scoring defenders in football and you will find TT there

The November list didn't come as surprise to me. One thing this list and the previous ones have done is that, it continues to show that the man Rohr does not know the way to the promise land. He has contributed immensely to our football by bringing us out of agonizing period of bad football and barrenness, he has brought back the fear factor known with the Super Eagles on the African continent. In short, he has achieved more in few years that he has spent with us.

Going forward, I'm afraid to say the man lacks idea(s) to improve the SE. We might continue to win our African opponents and even go on to win AFCON 19. But truth be told, the farthest his revolution will take us is just a football orgasm and we will be back again to the drawing board.

Note: why do some people get emotional and attack others for stating their opinions. Just saw where Mickael2 was attacked for writing off the team’s chances against SA. On paper, with the thin midfielders we will be parading, we don't stand a chance and every reasonable pundits will never give the Eagles a walkover over the southies. Not forgetting that they whipped our ass right there at our backyard.

We all hope the team wins.
Abeg make we take am easy, at least he is no longer conservative as many here believes.

I don't see anything wrong with the list.Add Iwobi,Iheanacho and Ajayi to that midfield and it's 5 mid-fielders.What then is our problem?

Pls what is the difference between Mikel's situation and Moses' situation? As for me,I see none. One decided to focus on club and family duties and so did the other. Yet some people keep bashing and mocking Moses especially since he hasn't been getting games. Or is cos one 'retired' and the other is on 'leave'? Both of them are absent from the national team so I don't see any difference. For all we know,Mikel could wake up tomorrow and decide to retire too. We never can tell. What happens then? undecided . This unfair treatment towards Moses by pained individuals definitely needs to stop.

7 goals in 20 games is not too good for a striker playing in the Belgian league(a league known for having poor defence).Onyekuru who played for Eupen as a LWF had 25 goals last 2 seasons in that same league but S.Moses kept on receiving call-ups ahead of him.He was even the top scorer in the league before he got injured.

This is just like inviting Alhassan Ibrahim ahead of Iheanacho because he doesn't get game time for City.

Wolfsburg is far far better than Gent.

Anyway watch him scrap a win and keep doing this nonsense till he finally gets exposed.

What's "scrapping a win" and what is 'get exposed'?

Simeon was already in the SE before Rohr took over so it's only natural for him to have been considered ahead of Onyekuru. Rohr doesn't rate the Belgian league high IMO. Every season we have players from the league that perform well but they hardly get called up.and even when they do,they don't play.. Even Ndidi didn't become a regular until he moved to Leicester...

Osimhen invitation must be because Rohr likes him...And I don't think that's bad...every coach has a favorite player....

The difference here is: Moses announced that he has retired! He did so at just 27. While Mikel hasn't announced his retirement and don't forget he is 31 and just getting back from injury. So his is reasonable! No one will bash Mikel if he decides to retire today. He has paid duly to the service of his nation.

Note: before you go on to tag me as 'hater' or 'pained', I have always supported both players.

Messi decided to retire from international football on the backdrop of 2014 worldcup at 27. His countrymen bashed him and called him all sorts of names(one of which was a - weakling) which later forced him to rescind his decision. He came back and led his country to the world cup. I'm sure Moses case won't be an exception.
.

Mikel is fit,my brother. He even scored in his last match. I respect Mikel a lot but no matter how you wanna sugarcoat it,he's decided to prioritize Club duties over National duties. That makes his case very similar to Moses'. The only defining factor is the word 'retired'. Moses has also paid his dues. Whether he did it with complete loyalty or 'nonchalance',his contributions to the team can never be overemphasized. So give him his due accolades. I understand your other points though.

First match was a comprehensive win,2nd close one? Yes.
Should we demand more? Yes.
However I think we are doing fine, we've played important matches without the mikel's and onazi's (old generation) . we are making a transition and winning games (this used to be a problem).
We can only get better.
