Evil bastards.

The amount each of these ugly baboons pocket monthly as security votes is enough to pay over 5000 workers @ 50,000 minimum.

You can begin to see how we are in a huge problem with these set of imbeciles in leadership positions.

I'd rather we toss the present constitution, strip everything from top to bottom and start afresh and on a clean slate. This ain't a system of government. There's no name for it in the book.

Heh! You know what's funny? These same people shouting Atikulated and all sorts of rubbish, shouted the same thing when Buhari was about to enter.

Most Nigerians are sheeps. Follow the herd, easily forget, and foolish.
Your government is a scam it's just 2 sides of the same coin recycling since democracy came in. Stay there and be shouting nonesense.

Minimum wage isn't even our problem in this country. This is just chasing after the wind.

If they would rebuild our economy such that dollar to naira is like 50:1, rice comes down to 5k per bag, garri 30 bucks/mudu, government build project houses (self contain) and rent them like 50-60k per year and create a regulatory body to force property owners to build houses for rent for the common man (every rich man should build for himself) and regulate the prices of rent for people who already own estates etc. Review their salaries and cut down the sh!t, review and fix power once and for all, probably start producing toothpicks, have more responsible and sensible leaders etc.

If all this things improve, seriously one would even go to amusement park with his family with 15k as minimum wage. It won't be easy and won't happen in 4 years but, it seems like a better cause to fight for. If they increase minimum wage to 100k and our economy keeps going backwards, 10 years from now you people will be having this same conversation.

And for all the fools shouting " NLC should cripple the country" Na you go still suffer after. That phone you're using to type nonsense, you'd sell it and buy food.
Those people have stack wealth for themselves that would last 'em till their 3rd generation. And that includes the NLC administration too. Mumu Nigerians
You nailed it, the NLC we have are only working with both SG&FG to deceive the Masses else they won't be agitating for additional salary knowing fully well that it will result in inflation. I expect a shutdown of the NA; downward review of Politicians 'FATS' like the Western world & a thoroug restructuring; only then can we move forward. Were d NLC dead when this same 18K implemented in 2011 and several inflations followed owing to hikes in fuel prices? They are nothing but Hypocrites.....Ask me; is Adams Oshiomole dead?

Abeg stop exposing your ignorance. Which inflation? Go to the pepper seller and ask if they are making any sales at all.

22k is a scam on the Nigerian people. The purchasing power power is very low right now because people dont have money. This in turn is hurting businesses.

In fact the major contributor to inflation are the useless politicians we keep supporting.

Public sector wages are a huge strain on government, with many state governments struggling to pay the present N18k minimum wage. Nigeria cannot afford a public sector wage rise.

Government exists to maximize welfare for all Nigerians not just those who work for the government. The higher the public sector wages, the more borrowing this government has to do leaving nothing for the rest of the population. The government reportedly spends 70 percent of its revenue just servicing debts at a time oil prices have rallied from the lows of 2015/2016.
In 2017, Nigeria’s debt service to revenue ratio ballooned to a record high of 69 percent that implies that for every naira earned, the country spends 69 kobo servicing debt, leaving just 31 kobo to spend on infrastructure or educate its rising population. The new US$2.8 billion borrowing, which is expected to come at a higher yield than previous borrowings, will put further pressure on the already high debt service to revenue ratio.
https://www.herald.co.zw/nigeria-fiscal-situation-signalling-a-debt-crisis/

For those who say corruption levels justify wage increases, this is a flawed argument. Corruption doesn't mean we should engage in fiscal recklessness. Perhaps, the trade unions should join the fight against corruption by taking industrial action to force the resignation of corrupt officials. You don't fight corruption by asking corrupt politicians to give you your share - which Yar'Adua and GEJ did by increasing minimum wage from N5k to 18k. You fight it directly by making it and practitioners of corruption the focal point of industrial action.

I can't believe graduates can't comprehend simple sentence. The headline clearly says "Governors agree to pay 22,500" not FG.

Though the proposed amount by FG which is 25,000 is indeed a shameful figure.

It's best the union embark on nationwide strike.

When a system is broken, it is usually impossible to fix no matter how you try,it has to be pulled down to start all over.
The Nigerian system is not working, it needs to be taken down,so we can start over.
The people are still waiting to be mobilised by labour leaders before they go on strike, for this I say the citizens of Nigeria are not yet ready to be free from.the claws of thieves and embezzlers that have held the progress of this country hostage .

The only permanent solution i see is to place governors ,the president, senators etc on minimum wage, thats the only way out.

unfortunately you don't even know as much as I earlier thought of you. how many states have been able to pay 18,000 as at when due? there are other things we can get the government to do aside aside increasing salary.
NLC is clamouring for 30k that is 12k difference from the current minimum wage. on average we can save 2k from assume electricity bill if we can get the government to distribute prepaid metre to every house in this country. and I can assure you that immediately that is achieved, the light situation in this country will improve tremendously. how many time have you sent message to MTN or Glo to come and fix their mast in your area, could it be that those mast never had problem? they do have problems but because they know that once the mast is down there will be no revenue from that side, they ensure the mast is watch 24hours and repair is carried out even before the mast breaks down completely. the same thing will happen once there is prepaid metre in every house in this country. now think about thousands of people that will get job when our light is in order, think about how much we can save by being able to preserve our food, etc

this is how things could could work well, decentralize power at the center, let each state focus on product they have comparative advantage produce and even go as far as producing finished product for sell along with IGR also oil revenue at the
e side for oil generating states, why won't each state be able to pay such amount and even more but if they eventually start paying such amount and things still remain what they are I am sorry for the state if salary crises they are about to plunge their selves
