Ryan giggs slept with his brother's wife. John Terry slept with a teammates wife or girlfriend, dele Alli had a video of him receiving Mouth Gig, come on Southgate. These things happens. Players get drunk leaving bar and drive recklessly, they get fattened up... Players have goal drought for seasons..

There are no emotional bias when u see a country man playing or starting, it's patriotism and not bias. We are not saying Isaac success is the best player or hyping him in Watford, we are only appreciative that is all

I agree with you 100% without question.

However, getting drunk, refusing to pay the Olosho's after having all 4 of them in your bed in a drunken orgy and fighting with them in the public arena in a hotel. That's a lot different.

Your an EPL player you must maintain dignity, I don't where he thinks he is. Fighting Olosho and refusing to pay. This is not Ebagua or New Benin Market.

Players get up to all kinds of rubbish.

However, I blame him he TOTALLY.

You see I went to two Russell group universities garnished with professional certifications.I have always
been the most qualified in comparison to my white peers in the industry I am involved in. I may speak the Queens English, be the best, However I AM BLACK.

You can not do what they do and get away with it there is a double standard. Anything you do will be multiplied many times over.

Look at how the press crucified Balotelli.

There is was an English Ghanaian MP I think he is a Lord now. Went to one of there Oyibo depraved upper class parties. He was wearing ladies knickers, bra, garters, etc They were all dressed in perverted debauchery driven clothing.

At the end of the day he was only that had his picture taken and plastered across all the newspapers. Chei can you imagine a honourable MP with hairy chest wearing women bra and knickers, see shame.

The BUFFOON forget that he was BLACK and thought he was now White.

If u think say because u deh shine teeth with all these oyibo, say u are all the same then you are BIG COMPOUND COCONUT FOOL.

I am sorry for the abusive description but it has to be said to explain things as graphically as they are.

NAIRALAND NIGERIAN FOOTBALL AWARDS!

A good and blessed Morning House.

We have all analyzed football here for a couple of years now. We have tasted the joys of victory and agonies of defeat from different competitions we have participated in. And each one we have come out better as we have always learnt one, two or more lessons.

Believe it or not we have here in the house some of the best followers and analysts of Nigerian football. Forget that we argue all the time, but these arguments generally have yielded fruits in certain areas and our national teams have gotten better for it.

DON'T WE THINK IT IS TIME WE STARTED ROLLING OUT AWARDS, IN VARIOUS CATEGORIES, TO WELL DESERVING NIGERIAN NATIONAL TEAM FOOTBALLERS?

Now this is just a suggestion.

If a larger part of the house agree, we go ahead and set up a players selection committee which will be saddled with the responsibly of:
1. Coming up with various award categories eg: Most improved player in 2018, best Nigerian goal in 2018, Most impressive new inclusion, Best young player (U20 and U17), Best SE Goal keeper 2018, Nigerian Player of the year, best Super Falcons player etc.
2. Nominating players for the various award categories selected above (Maximum of 3 for each category). Note that criteria for the selection of these players must be spelt out.
3. Collating and announcing of results after the votings.

How do we come up with who and who will make up the Players' Selection committee?
I would suggest a 3 Man (or woman smiley) Committee. The house will have to suggest monikers. Every member of this thread or even visitors would have to nominate one person he or she feels should be a member of this committee. Note that you cannot nominate your self and you cannot nominate more than 1 person. 3 monikers with the highest number of nominations will form the players selection committee.

If we agree, we can set 1 week period for which we can suggest names for the selection committee and the selection committee will have to start work immediately after the Nigeria vs Uganda friendly. So that the voting process will commence first week in December.

At the end of the exercise a thread will be created to publish the names of awardees and mods called upon to take to front page or we may even take it to the sports sections of major News Papers in Nigeria.

Note again that it is just a suggestion and open to more ideas and suggestions.

The simple thing to do for a start is if you agree you click "like" and if you do not agree you click ''share''.

I am not sure what the difference is between bad belle and hate. Let's be matured please.

I don't look at stats alone go back to my posts, I always say statistics are indicative and not conclusive.

However, there are some stats you can't get away from as a striker you are EXPECTED to score GOALS that's what you will be measured against.

I don't think shame has anything to do with it.

I don't set the standard they are universal for all to see.

I understand your position but I don't agree with it.

Zaha is arguably the best winger in the EPL he is much more than a goal scorer he drives the whole team forward. And he looks like poetry in motion when he is doing it.

Do you truly believe the bold in your write up. Osimhen was so highly regarded by his coaches that over two years how many minutes of football did play maybe 300 minutes more ot less. Couldn't even make the bench most times. And your deduction is he was highly REGARDED even you don't believe that delusion.

I called it bad bele but "your people" call it trolling grin You know very well what u were doing to these players was totally out of line. U say it is a universal standard but let us take a look at the young men who as of late have come from Nigeria. All of them needed some time to settle and it is not rocket science that an African would need time to adapt in Europe.

Success was not a striker when u were counting his goals against him. In fact he just became a fulltime striker under this coach and he has been pivotal for them even without bags of goals. The coach credited him for a win even though he didn't score.

See as u want to use selective memory to prove a point. You know that Wolfsburg was a revolving door for coaches. The team probably changed 4 coaches a season the time that he was there. By the time u win a coach over he gets fired. You know all of this but u are trying to form amnesia grin

So a player that plays left back in the champions league is not good enough for you abi? When have you seen idowu get exposed defensively. Against Argentina he was our best defender.
Adeleye will not make either match day squad and neither would Ikwuowem. Eze got these same invites but never played, nevertheless he is doing well in Europe right now. Rohr knows what he is doing

No offence to Idowu but if he was born in Nigeria he would be warming serious bench for Kastina United. Idowu was in no way our best defender against Argentina, what was Omeruo doing then? Handing out gift cards??

I am telling you that Ikwuowem would at least give Idowu and Collins a good run for their money, will Adeleye give....Awaziem a good run for his money? That is our fourth choice CB by the way

Yet he is playing in the Russian first division with a club that competes in the champions league. If ur analysis was right then he would be in the 3rd division. How come the coaches at Amkar Perm and Lokomotiv Moscow both missed that he is such a bad player?

Omeruo's best game was Iceland, against Argentina he was shaky and got beat for pace on a couple of occasions.

I have told u that neither of them would give anybody a run for his money. If I wanted a ball playing LB I would go for Gabriel Wasa (Akwa United) but even at that I do get into arguments with my fellow fans because I like our Togolese LB more than Wasa as he is the more complete LB.

I swear!. Sometimes I look at Idowu and think "How the hell did this guy join our national team"? Dude is unbelievably poor.
Apart from his 45 mins in the Argie friendly, Idowu has been nothing to write home about in the SE.

That's the danger in judging players based on cameos.

That said, Jamilu Collins is a prayer answered.

I'll forever be angry at Rohr for starting Idowu ahead of Ebuehi in that game against Argentina at the WC.

Ebuehi turned the game around against Iceland in our favour. Messi basically wiped the floor with Idowu. And Idowu couldn't offer anything attack wise either.

Not a single meaningful cross or goalscoring chance worth remembering
was created by him throughout the WC and the preceding friendly matches!

Bright was a left back, he was named 10-10 for taking out an Algerian player in a game we had already gotten a red card and the opponents had completed their subs. The tackling was ghost mode as referee no see am, in short he was our equalizer 2000 at the maroc 88 nations cup. Babayaro had serious injury challenges at the end of his career. This is what affected him the most. There was a time, he was out for more than a year.

I think, he was the most technically gifted/skilful left back.

Taiwo was also very talented .
I dunno but I think Taiwos's Trophy cabinet is way larger than Babayaro overall. Yeah Chelsea were really average an epl. team then. So Babayaro played for one average team and a relegation threatened team that were actually hotter and top ranked than Chelsea then. I'll give Taiwo.... But Babayaro sef was a fine LB.

Talking of invitations for local players, CAF just reduced the slots of NPFL for continental competitions.

Libya takes our slot due to consistency and how far theyve gone in the competition.

I think this would be a wake up called to the stakeholders of the NPFL.

We are now to provide only one team for the two competitions instead of the usual 2 we've enjoyed since 2004 when that format was introduced. Cameroun also gets to keep their two slots as usual.

We are now to provide only one team for the two competitions instead of the usual 2 we've enjoyed since 2004 when that format was introduced. Cameroun also gets to keep their two slots as usual.

Bascovanveli, what's your take on this. I guess the sound of the music is getting more rocky!!! Hmm

How do u expect the baby to cry because u removed his wet diaper? The question should be do the clubs even care that the slots are taken? See how they just agreed that Lobi will be champions. They won't say it but our clubs don't fancy continental football. These are people who can't even book hotel for their players after matches just know they would volunteer to book international flights and pay for up keep.

I remember listening to Akwa United's chairman on Naija Made after we failed to make it into the group stage and he said that we lost because there are no good players in Nigeria to sign. That being true or false was not my concern but what stopped him from going to other countries to find quality players? These are things one must do to succeed on the continent but how many of our clubs do this?
